In the second chapter is described an empirical study that gives an answer to a question how using fairy tales in pedagogical process impact development on the storytelling skills of 6-year-old children. It introduces with a concepts of pedagogical observation and pedagogical trial, indicate developed criteria for assessing children's storytelling skills, provides a description of the children involved in the study, describes the pedagogical process, assesses and compares the dynamics of the development of storytelling skills according to the given criteria. In the theoretical part, the explanation of speech and language in scientific literature is considered, the development of 4-5 year old children is identified as well as the pedagogical process for improving children's vocabulary is explored. The theoretical basis is based on the literary sources reviwed by the following authors: I.Alekse, I.Stangaine, G.Svence, E.Kalvans, L.Vigotskis and others. In the empirical part of the study, the author of the work, using pedagogical observation, discussions, pedagogical trial activity and data processing, analysis, conducts research with 12 children age 4-5. The research analyzes various pedagogical options to improve children's vocabulary. The author of the work believes that the goal of the study - to theoretically investigate and practically check how the vocabulary of 4-5 year old children can be improved in the pedagogical process - was achieved. As well as the tasks of the research were fulfilled. The author of the work has concluded that it is possible to enrich children's vocabulary with the help of games, didactic games and fairy tales. Scope of the work: The work consists of 43 pages, the work contains 3 tables, 4 images, 6 appendices are attached to the work. 40 literature sources were used in the qualification work. German-Origin Surnames in Rauna

Darbā tiek raksturoti vāciskās izcelsmes uzvārdi, kā arī pētīts to rašnās iemesls Raunā 19.gs sākumā. Veicot salīdzinājumu starp vāciskās izcelsmes uzvārdiem Raunā 19.g.s sākumā un uzvārdiem, kas Raunā atrodami šodien, tiek aplūkotas radušās izmaiņas rakstībā.
Darba gaitā tika secināts, ka vācisko uzvārdu rašanos ietekmējuši vairāki līdzvērtīgi faktori, kā piemēram, ģeopolitiskais stāvoklis Latvijas teritorijā 19.g.s sākumā, vāciski runājošie muižnieki, cilvēku personīgā vēlme piederēt kādam noteiktam sabiedrības slānim, kā arī sākotnēja neizpratne par uzvārda nozīmi un svarīgumu.

This paper explores the causes and characteristics of German origin family names in Rauna at the beginning of 19th century. By analysing and comparing family names nowadays and at the beginning of 19th century , the author presents how and why these family names have changed.
It was concluded that the emergence of Germanic surnames was influenced by a number of equivalent factors such as the geopolitical situation in the territory of Latvian at the beginning of 19th century, German-speaking nobles, people's personal desire to belong to some specific layer of society, and lack of understanding of the role and importance of family names.
Paper expounded in 40 pages and there are 23 literature sources used in the paper.

To increase understanding of colour in 3rd grade’s art lessons

The goal of the diploma thesis is to pro-mote the understanding of color in visual art lessons in the 3rd grade. In the first chapter, the author examines the study of colors, explores in depth the perception of colors and the development of the system, color theory, as well as the symbol-ic meaning of color in works of art. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of regulatory documents and pedagog-ical literature. There, the author examines the literature of the learning process and analyses normative documents, according to the set of tasks. The third described and set of tasks "Color, its shade and meaning" for visual art les-sons in the 3rd grade. In this chapter, the author describes the creation of a set of tasks, the teaching methods used in the learning process, the approbation of the set of tasks and the analysis of the results achieved by the students. At the end, the author's conclusions about the results provided by the students of the task set "Colour, its shades and meaning" are answered, the research question is answered - with what learning tasks can the understanding of color be promoted in visual art classes in the 3rd grade. The developed sets of tasks were successfully approved in the 3rd grade of Ogre X elementary school. The thesis consists of three chapters and ten subsections, three appendices. Insufficient control of heart rate in stable coronary artery disease patients in Latvia

Heart rate (HR) ≥70 beats per minute (bpm) increases cardiovascular risk in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. The objective of the analysis is to characterize HR as well as other clinical parameters in outpatients with stable CAD in Latvia.<p></p>
Materials and methods:
CLARIFY is an ongoing international registry of outpatients with established CAD. Latvian data regarding 120 patients enrolled in CLARIFY and collected at baseline visit during 2009–2010 were analyzed.<p></p>
Results:
The mean HR was 67.7 ± 9.5 and 66.9 ± 10.7 bpm when measured by pulse palpation and electrocardiography, respectively. HR ≤60 bpm and ≥70 bpm was observed in 25% and 35.8% of patients, respectively. When analyzing patients with angina symptoms, 22.8% had HR ≤60 bpm while HR ≥70 bpm was observed in 33.3% of the cases. HR ≥70 bpm was observed in 36.2% of patients with symptoms of chronic heart failure. Beta-blockers were used in 81.7% of the patients. Metoprolol (long acting succinate), bisoprolol, nebivolol and carvedilol in average daily doses 63.8, 5.3, 4.5, and 10.4 mg/d were used in 47, 37, 11 and 3 cases, respectively. Among patients with HR ≥70 bpm 79.1% were using beta-blockers. Medications did not differ significantly between the three groups according to HR level (≤60, 61–69 and ≥70 bpm).<p></p>
Conclusions:
Despite the wide use of beta-blockers, HR is insufficiently controlled in the analyzed sample of stable CAD patients in Latvia. Target HR ≤60 bpm is achieved only in 25% of the patients while more than one third have increased HR ≥70 bpm
