Performance maximization of network assisted mobile data offloading with opportunistic Device-to-Device communications
A. Serdar Tan (MEF Author)Mobile data traffic inside mobile operator's infrastructure is increasing exponentially every year. This increasing demand forces mobile network operators (MNOs) to seek for alternative communication methods in order to relieve the traffic load in base stations, especially in highly populated and crowded environments. Network assisted data offload and Device-to-Device(D2D) communications are two prominent methods to help MNOs solve this problem. In this study, a data offload framework is developed that incorporates network assisted multiple attribute decision making (MADM) for best network selection and D2D communications for exploiting user proximity in crowded environments. The performance of the framework is evaluated with simulation results as well as analytic solutions and performance bounds. The simulation results indicate the superiority of incorporating network-based information besides user-based information in offloading decisions and demonstrates the significant benefits of D2D communications when the density of D2D users is properly adjusted. The simulation results depict that up to 168% and 200% increase in user satisfaction and throughput can be achieved under high network load scenarios at optimal D2D density. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. ZnS Çinko Sülfür İnce Filmlerin Yapıasal ve Morfolojik Özelliklerine pH Etkisi
The ZnS thin films have been obtained from aqueous solution by means of cyclic voltammetry method. The electrochemical bath consisted of zinc sulphate, sodium thiosulfate and triethanolamine. The effect of electrolyte pH on the properties of ZnS thin films was investigated within the range from 3 to 9. The cyclic voltammetry was used to analyse the electrochemical bath. The structural and morphological of thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy, respectively. The thin films obtained have cubic structure and single phase as analysed by XRD. As the pH was reduced from 9 to 3, the intensities of the peaks corresponding to ZnS increased. AFM image shows the thin films prepared at pH 3 are homogeneous and well covered on the substrate. These thin films consist of small grains which lead to deposition of smoother films. However, as the pH increases up to 7, the number of grains decreases and larger grain size could be obtained. Therefore, the pH plays a major role in synthesis of ZnS thin film and the pH 3 is the best pH under current conditions.ZnS ince filmler çevrimsel voltametri yöntemiyle sulu çözeltiden elde edilmiştir. Elektro-kimyasal banyo çinko sülfat, sodyum tiosulfat ve triethnalomine içermiştir. ZnS yapısal özellikleri üzerine elktrolitin pH etkisi 3-9 aralıklar arasında incelenmiştir. Çevrimsel voltametri elektro-kimyasal banyoyu analiz etmek için kullanılmıştır. Atomik kuvvet mikroskopu ve X-ışınlan (XRD) kırınımı analizleri ile ince filmler yapısal ve morfolojik olarak incelenmiştir. Zns yapılar kübik yapıda ve tek fazlı olduğu XRD sonuçlarından elde edilmiştir. pH değeri 9’dan 3’ e indirgendiğinde ZnS pik şiddetlerinin azaldığı gözlenmiştir. pH 3’de hazırlanan örneklerin kuvvet mikroskopu analizleri bu filmlerin alttaş ile uyumlu olarak büyüdüğü gösterilmiştir. Bu ince filmler bundan başka küçük tane büyüklüğüne sahip oldukları bu çalışmada gösterilmiştir. Diğer taraftan banyonun pH değeri 7’ye kadar arttırıldığına tane sayısı azalmış ve fakat tane büyüklüğü artmıştır. Böylece pH 3 değerindeki banyolamanın ince film hazırlamada önemli bir etkisi olduğu bu çalışma ile gösterilmiştir

From Inferiority to Alienation in Adalet Ağaoğlu’s Fikrimin İnce Gülü
Adalet Ağaoğlu’nun Fikrimin İnce Gülü çağdaş Türk edebiyatının en ünlü romanlarından biridir. 1976 yılında yayımlanan ve çeşitli temaları ele alan bu roman, göçmen bir Türk işçisi olan Bayram’ın Türk sınır kapısından memleketteki köyüne kadar yaptığı yolculuğu aktarmaktadır. Bu araştırma Bayram’ın anlatısını iki ana başlık altında analiz etmektedir: aşağılık duygusu ve yabancılaşma. Daha özel anlamda, makale Bayram’ın eylemlerinin temel sebebinin aşağılık kompleksi olduğunu öne sürmektedir ki bu kompleks, Bayram’ın takıntılı meta fetişizmiyle birleşerek, onun toplumdan tamamen yabancılaşmasıyla sonuçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, araştırma öncelikle aşağılık kompleksi kavramını bireysel psikoloji kuramı ve onun kurucusu olan psikolog Alfred Adler’in penceresinden irdelemektedir. Ek olarak araştırma, yabancılaşma kavramını da birden çok düşünüre yapılan göndermelerle ayrıntılı bir şekilde mercek altına almaktadır. Böylece makale, Bayram’ın kronik aşağılık duygularına sebep olan çocukluk ve gençlik dönemlerinde yaşamış olduğu travmaların ve sosyal geçmişinin kurbanı olduğunu ve bunun da kapitalist üretim sistemi tarafından kötüleştirildiğini ve sonunda Bayram’ın birey olarak yabancılaştığını, aşırı derecede hayal kırıklığına uğradığını ve etrafında bulunan herkes ve her şeyden soyutlandığını açığa çıkarmaktadır. Araştırma, Bayram’ın kendi yabancılaşmasının bilinçsiz bir kurbanı olduğunu ve sonunda anlamlı bir amacı ve umudu yitirmiş biçimde kendi başına çaresiz kaldıktan sonra öz bilince vararak döngüyü tamamladığı sonucuna varmaktadır.Adalet Ağaoğlu’s Fikrimin İnce Gülü is one of the most celebrated novels of contemporary Turkish literature. Published in 1976 and dealing with a variety of themes, the novel tells the story of Bayram, a Turkish immigrant worker’s journey from the Turkish border gate to his native village. This study aims to analyse Bayram’s narrative under two major headings: inferiority and alienation. Specifically, the article argues that the ultimate cause of Bayram’s actions is the inferiority complex which, combined with his obsessive commodity fetishism, eventually ends up with his total alienation from society. To this end, the research initially scrutinises the concept of inferiority complex through the window of individual psychology and its founder, Alfred Adler. In addition, the study also examines the notion of alienation with references to several influential thinkers. Thus, the article reveals that Bayram has become the victim of his traumatic childhood, youth experiences and social background, which give rise to his chronic feelings of inferiority. These feelings of inferiority in turn are aggravated by the capitalist system of production, eventually leading to the alienation, extreme disillusionment and isolation of Bayram as an individual. This research concludes that Bayram is an unconscious victim of his alienation and finally completes the cycle to a self-conscious state of mind after being left on his own, desperate and void of meaningful purpose or hope

Shaun Tan is a Melbourne-based artist and author, whose work is celebrated worldwide for the beautiful, dynamic, and mesmerizing story worlds that it offers readers and viewers. In 2011, Tan received the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in honour of his contribution to international children’s literature, and an Academy Award for the short animated film adaptation of The Lost Thing (Ruheman and Tan 2011), which he directed with Andrew Ruhemann. Tan’s work ranges from drawing and painting, to sculpture and animation, whose complex themes, and sensitive nuances resist easy classification. Total synthesis of TAN-1057 and analogues

An asymmetric and stereochemically unambiguous construction of diaminopimelic acid and related system using the chiral, non-racemic diphenyl oxazinones glycinate templates has been developed. The preparations of (R,R)-DAP, (S,S)-DAP, (S,S)-2,7-diaminosuberic acid, and mono-N-protected (S,R)-DAP are described. The synthesis of γ-D(L)-glutamyl-L-meso-diaminopimelic acid dipeptide, a subunit of both FK-156 and FK-565, is also described. The availability of both optical antipodes of the glycinate templates renders this chemistry adaptable to prepare all possible diastereoisomers of substances based on the DAP skeleton in optically pure form.Part II. The first total synthesis of anti-MRSA dipeptides TAN-1057 A~D has been achieved. A new efficient method for preparation of amidinoureas has been developed and successfully applied to the total synthesis of TAN-1057. More importantly, this concise total synthesis paves the way for access to analogues that are not available from natural sources. Eight new analogues of TAN-1057 were designed, synthesized and assayed against MRSA. A new synthetic analogue 102 (CY-1800) showed very similar activity to that of TAN-1057. Other analogues prepared showed weak or no activity against Staphylococcus aureus up to 1 mg/mL. The success on discovery of a new potent anti-MRSA analogue proved the usefulness of this highly flexible strategy for the development of better analogues than the natural ones for the potential use as antibiotics
