Agile Testing: Introducing PRAT as a Metric of Testing Quality in Scrum
No full textScrum methodology has originated from agile software develop-ment as an elixir to software projects which are behind the sche-dule or which are highly likely to have a problematic development phase. Also unlike any other agile methodology, scrum is adaptive in nature. This paper presents a metric that focuses on measuring test quality in scrum. As product quality and process quality is closely correlated, improved test quality can ensure high quality deliverable product. Proposed metric measures test quality of each sprint/ iteration of scrum based upon some factor ratings which can be used to get a comprehensive test quality overview of testing process over longer periods.</jats:p
Exploring improvisations in road safety in a low-income setting
No full textRoad collision types repeat themselves, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where countermeasures are often improvised and implemented with little planning. At the Shahbag intersection in Dhaka, Bangladesh, speed bumps were quickly constructed at the exit of the intersection as an improvised road safety measure following the occurrence of a fatal collision, which eventually contributed to another collision between a truck and a car. The events influencing the improvisation decision, and that action’s consequences, have been analysed using the Impromap methodology, a variation of the Accimap approach that focusses specifically on improvisation. The applicability of the Impromap as a systems-based approach to the road safety domain is assessed using the predictions described in Rasmussen’s risk management framework, and corresponding countermeasures are proposed. The analysis shows that improvisation in the road safety domain is undesirable irrespective of the economic setting as it is likely to eventually contribute to secondary collisions. Practitioner summary: In this paper, the events influencing the improvisation decision following a road crash, and that action’s consequences, have been analysed using the Impromap methodology. Laxman Bapu Mane, a social activist and a Maratha writer, has occupied a distinct position in Indian Dalit Literature. His autobiography Upara: An Outcaste is considered as a mile stone in Maratha Dalit literature and he received Sahitya Academi Award in 1981and Padma Shree in 2009 for this autobiography.Through this autobiography, he has presented the reflection of traumas and wounded psyche of Dalit people. In his life, he has faced extreme caste discrimination and experiences exploitation, humiliation and starvation of his community. He reveals that the Indian society is caste ridden where they are dehumanized, tortured and abhorred by the high caste Hindus. The present paper aims to show the wretched condition of Dalit people and at the same time it aims to emphasis on the changing condition of Dalit people and their changing point of view due to the impact of education on them. The Dalit academia that expanded vastly on the horizon of India after 1970s challenges the conventional views of caste, religion and god and radically questions the exclusions of Dalits from power, knowledge, culture and society

The most distinguished fact of his novel is that he has dealt with essentially the middle class characters and has created a fictional South Indian Malgudi town like Thomas Hardy’s Wessex or William Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County. His fictional world has projected an exploration of the conjugal relationship in the domestic world and the themes of marital and extra marital relationships have always been the focus of many literary works in the Indian English Literature. However, his novels are deeply rooted in customs, traditions, beliefs, and superstitions of the Indian society and are preoccupied with the theme of family relationship, East- West encounter, education etc. Here in this paper an attempt has been made to reveal his portrayal of marital and extra marital affairs and at the same time it also aims to find out the reasons of extra marital relationship. However, through this exploration, we can observe that he has vividly presented the contemporary scenario of the Indian society which always follows the stream of conventional and unconventional way of life
