Full text linkThe Immunization Information System (IIS) Functional Standards describe the operations, dataquality, and technology needed by IISs to support immunization programs, vaccinationproviders, and other immunization stakeholders. The Immunization Information SystemsSupport Branch (IISSB) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued the firstIIS Functional Standards in 1997 in collaboration with immunization program managers. In2001, the National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC) endorsed a set of IIS FunctionalStandards, setting the course for future development of IISs. In 2012, the 2013-2018 IISFunctional Standards were developed through a collaboration of IISSB and IIs stakeholders.IISSB and IIS stakeholders collaborated again in 2017 and released the proposed update, IIS Functional Standards, v4.0. CDC modified the naming convention of the IIS Functional Standards to ensure the standards can be updated as needed to remain current with expanding IIS functionalities and the evolving health IT environment. Future IIS Functional Standards will be referred to by version number instead of by the years they are active. Expectation of Travel Experiences with Wearable Computing Devices
No full textBased on a content analysis of textual data containing people’s ideas to use wearable computing devices, this paper identified five patterns of personal motivations to use wearable devices for travel and tourism experiences. They are exploration, adventure tourism, travel documentation, travel reporting, and positive transformation. These patterns suggest a potential transformation in tourists’ behaviour due to perceived new ways of interactions with technology and with the near surroundings. The different features and functionalities that are unique to wearable technology trigger changes in three areas: the shift from tourists to explorers, an explosion of first-person visual travel narratives, and more social travel supported by real-time connectivity. Further, the findings also suggest a potential shift in terms of how personal technology is situated in human experience, from mediation to embodiment
