XDM-compatible service repository for user-centric service creation and discovery
The key objective of OPUCE system is to enable the participation of end-users in the management of their own services, by providing them with innovative tools which allow an easy creation and delivery of personalized communication and information services. This paper describes the OPUCE service and component repository, which extends the OMA OSPE service model storage approach XDM. By integrating an ebXML registry using the native notification mechanisms of XDM, the search capability of the repository is dramatically improved. Moreover, this repository also exploits semantic Web technology to provide an intuitive visualized browser for convenient service exploring.Jian Yu, Paolo Falcarin, Sancho Rego, Isabel Ordas, Eduardo Martins, Quan Sun, Ruben Trapero and Quan Z. The apocryphal writer in the public debate: socio-political reflections in Sabino Ordas´ writings
[EN] Sabino Ordás is an apocryphal author created by Spanish
writers Juan Pedro Aparicio, Luis Mateo Díez and José María Merino.
This apocryphal model is made up with a given biography and
a set of writings. From the facts of his fictitious biography, Ordás
is linked to the history of Spanish political thought. On the other
hand, his writings show the relevance of culture to define a political
space. His political thought represents the updated current of
regionalism in the Spanish region of León since focus is granted on
particularities of León´s culture. This cultural regionalism aims at
a political recognition. Written in the times of Spanish transition to
democracy, such texts support the aspiration for political autonomy
for León. Sabino Ordas´s writings claimed for the recognition
of the different cultures and showed the reflection on Spain from
his conception of regionalism in León

The More You Know: Improving Laser Fault Injection with Prior Knowledge
We consider finding as many faults as possible on the target device in the laser fault injection security evaluation. Since the search space is large, we require efficient search methods. Recently, an evolutionary approach using a memetic algorithm was proposed and shown to find more interesting parameter combinations than random search, which is commonly used. Unfortunately, once a variation on the bench or target is introduced, the process must be repeated to find suitable parameter combinations anew.To negate the effect of variation, we propose a novel method combining a memetic algorithm with a machine learning approach called a decision tree. Our approach improves the memetic algorithm by using prior knowledge of the target introduced in the initial phase of the memetic algorithm. In our experiments, the decision tree rules enhance the performance of the memetic algorithm by finding more interesting faults in different samples of the same target. Our approach shows more than two orders of magnitude better performance than random search and up to 60% better performance than previous state-of-the-art results with a memetic algorithm. Another advantage of our approach is human-readable rules, allowing the first insights into the explainability of target characterization for laser fault injection.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Cyber Securit
Numerical schemes for the simulation of three-dimensional cardiac electrical propagation in patient-specific ventricular geometries
This paper introduces different numerical strategies in computational electrophysiology, based on the Finite Element Method to handle the space discretization of the governing equations. The long-term goal is to apply these computational techniques to study the three-dimensional electrical propagation in patient-specific ventricular geometries, having in mind not only to understand the process, but also to use the simulation tools to improve the diagnosis accuracy. The electrical response of cardiac tissue is modeled by combining Bidomain (BD) and FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) models. The BD model uses two coupled diffusion PDEs to handle the electrical potential in the intra- and extracellular domains of cardiac tissue taking into account the anisotropic conductance of the muscle fibers. The FHN equations add a non-linear reaction term to a transient diffusion equation in order to represent the ion current flows, which drive the depolarization and repolarization processes through the intra- and extracellular domains. The FHN model also includes an ODE to account for the recovery potential contribution responsible of the excitable media repolarization. The proposed methodology is illustrated with numerical simulations both in academic simple geometries and in patient-specific cardiac ventricular. The latter have been reconstructed by using automatic three-dimensional medical image segmentation and mesh generation tools

Analysis of RNAseq datasets from a comparative infectious disease zebrafish model using GeneTiles bioinformatics
We present a RNA deep sequencing (RNAseq) analysis of a comparison of the transcriptome responses to infection of zebrafish larvae with Staphylococcus epidermidis and Mycobacterium marinum bacteria. We show how our developed GeneTiles software can improve RNAseq analysis approaches by more confidently identifying a large set of markers upon infection with these bacteria. For analysis of RNAseq data currently, software programs such as Bowtie2 and Samtools are indispensable. However, these programs that are designed for a LINUX environment require some dedicated programming skills and have no options for visualisation of the resulting mapped sequence reads. Especially with large data sets, this makes the analysis time consuming and difficult for non-expert users. We have applied the GeneTiles software to the analysis of previously published and newly obtained RNAseq datasets of our zebrafish infection model, and we have shown the applicability of this approach also to published RNAseq datasets of other organisms by comparing our data with a published mammalian infection study. In addition, we have implemented the DEXSeq module in the GeneTiles software to identify genes, such as glucagon A, that are differentially spliced under infection conditions. In the analysis of our RNAseq data, this has led to the possibility to improve the size of data sets that could be efficiently compared without using problem-dedicated programs, leading to a quick identification of marker sets. Therefore, this approach will also be highly useful for transcriptome analyses of other organisms for which well-characterised genomes are available.Software Computer TechnologyElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
