Neuroestetica e Ambiente percettivo: pensare strutture interattive a 3 Dimensioni
EnIn recent years, many researches have focused how the technologies related to cognitive neuroscience can be of support the educational and museal structures. The purpose of this paper is to present in a concise and integrated way, as in different situations related to the perceptive-museal environment or to cultural heritage , virtual reality and neuroaesthetic may be elements of support. We will consider recent research related to cognitive neuroscience and virtual reality and we will see how, in a condition linked to the context, they can be applied to an ergonomic and interactive environment , which could favor the motivation of the subject during the acquisition of artistic/historical information or environmental/scientific information.<br/
Chemosensory Neuro-olfactometry, Pheromones Perceptions, and EEG Signal Processing Methods
The perception of pheromones in humans is a fairly debated topic in the literature. There is a paucity of research in realization of methodological as well as analytical aspects of the perception of pheromones. Precisely, it involves cortical pathways that are not exclusively sensory, but more specifically subcortical, and are connected to implicit perception and aspects of recognition of the other and of their sexual or reproductive characteristics. In this respect, we tried to provide evidence for the utility of one such entropic measure, a step forward toward a more informed understanding of the role of pheromones on humans’ perceptions. This is in line with the call for future research on uncovering functional and computational processes that underlie the dependence of the behavior on the brain information processing capacity
Olfactory Event-Related Potentials and Exhaled Organic Volatile Compounds: The Slow Link Between Olfactory Perception and Breath Metabolic Response. A Pilot Study on Phenylethyl Alcohol and Vaseline Oil
Olfactory processing starts with the breath and elicits neuronal, metabolic and cortical responses. This process can be investigated centrally via the Olfactory Event-Related Potentials (OERPs) and peripherally via exhaled Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Despite this, the relationship between OERPs (i.e., N1 and Late Positive Component LPC) and exhaled VOCs has not been investigated enough. The aim of this research is to study OERPs and VOCs connection to two different stimuli: phenylethyl alcohol (PEA) and Vaseline Oil (VO). Fifteen healthy subjects performed a perceptual olfactory task with PEA as a smell target stimulus and VO as a neutral stimulus. The results suggest that OERPs and VOCs distributions follow the same amplitude trend and that PEA is highly arousing in both psychophysiological measures. PEA shows ampler and faster N1, a component related to the sensorial aspect of the stimulus. The N1 topographic localization is different between PEA and VO: PEA stimulus evokes greater N1 in the left centroparietal site. LPC, a component elicited by the perceptual characteristic of the stimulus, shows faster latency in the Frontal lobe and decreased amplitude in the Central and Parietal lobe elicited by the PEA smell. Moreover, the delayed time between the onset of N1-LPC and the onset of VOCs seems to be about 3 s. This delay could be identified as the internal metabolic time in which the odorous stimulus, once perceived at the cortical level, is metabolized and subsequently exhaled. Furthermore, the VO stimulus does not allocate the attentive, perceptive and metabolic resource as with PEA
Neuroarcheologia musicale
This paper aims to analyze the musical percept as a precursor of language, which later evolved into a human brain structure with syntactic, spatial and temporal rules similar to the language. This will be described through the studies of Psychology of Music and through evolutionary analyses, and neuroarchaeological analysis. Through acomparate and evolutionary model will b eillustrated the phylogenetic development of musical perception (listening, pitch detection, physiological production and instrumental production) and how this could be considered one of the foundations of the speech.
Through this analysis we will describe how the percept music/sound exists as strongly connected both at the genetic level, biological and behavioral language functions, and we will as a capacity which the tactile receptor is involved in the processes ofsound / music discrimination and production
Il Cognitivo e La Clinica nella Procreazione Medicalmente Assistita:posizioni a confronto. Intervista a Benoit Bayle
I risultati di questa ricerca indicano come ci siano effettivamente delle differenze significative in queste variabili negli studi effettuati sulle coppie che avevano avuto un trattamento da PMA piuttosto che sui controlli e come il lavoro clinico possa dare spunto alla sperimentazione scientifica nell’indagare nuove tematicheThe recent spread of techniques of medically assisted reproduction, and today’s changes in the laws ruling this practice, enable many couples with infertility to have access to these treatments, thus getting in contact with a world full of cultural and mental representations that often affect conception, pregnancy and parenting, raising new ethical and bioethical issues on the scene of assisted conception. This paper presents a comparison between a clinical thought, born from the experience of the famous French psychiatrist, Benoît Bayle, and a review of scientific literature, with a specific reference to the prenatal cognitive matrix. This study analyzes the physiological, cognitive, behavioral, and dynamic levels related to the scene of Artificial Conception.
