No full textLa tradizione manoscritta delle opere di Ilario è stata ampliamente illustrata in vecchie e nuove edizioni. Al pubblico dei lettori sono invece meno noti i testimoni a stampa. Nel tempo il loro scrutinio ha permesso agli studiosi di acquisire notizie sulla storia del testo edito e di raccogliere le lezioni adottate nella pregressa prassi ecdotica. Intrecciando gli interessi antiquari e gli studi appassionati di varie personalità della cultura europea tra XV e XIX secolo, la vicenda delle antiche edizioni a stampa del vescovo di Poitiers è molto avvincente e costituisce un capitolo esemplare nella storia della tradizione dei testi cristiani. Con particolare riguardo alla tradizione della Epistula contra Auxentium, lo studio traccia un profilo storico-culturale di tali opere editoriali (tradizione a stampa), che mette in luce l’uso di Ilario nella Milano rinascimentale di Ludovico il Moro, nel circolo parigino di Lefèvre d’Étaples, in Erasmo, nella cerchia di Charlotte Guillard e Loiuse Le Mire, nella società di studiosi che animava la Compagnie de la Grand-Navire e infine presso i Maurini e gli eruditi italiani del ‘700, presentando al lettore le circostanze e le figure straordinarie di questa lunga avventura, tra cui Josse Bade, Paganino de Paganinis, la stessa Guillard. I maggiori progressi dell’edizione di Ilario sono legati al nome di Erasmo che, in una vera predilezione per l’autore, editò le sue opere due volte (1523, 1535). Il vescovo di Poitiers era autore piuttosto esplicito nei confronti di Costanzo II e della chiesa del suo tempo: ciò spiega la passione di Erasmo per lui e anche il fatto che, nel corso del tempo, l’edizione ilariana abbia attirato figure importanti, come mostra il seguito di studiosi che in tale impresa raccolse il testimone da Erasmo. Negli anni in cui si aprì la più fervida stagione di studio scientifico dei testi cristiani, dovuta alla pleiade di eruditi che gravitavano intorno a Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Ilario beneficiò di un trattamento straordinario da parte di uno dei Maurini più significativi, Pierre Coustant. Elaborata intorno al 1693 presso il centro di Parigi, la sua edizione, all’origine del textus receptus, viene celebrata come uno dei più riusciti prodotti del milieu maurino

A distributed disagreement-based protocol for synchronization of uncertain heterogeneous agents
No full textIn networks with heterogeneous and uncertain agents, fixed-gain control can lead to synchronization only if the uncertainties are relatively small. If the uncertainties are larger, we need to develop adaptive-gain approaches to achieve synchronization. In this work we propose an adaptive synchronization protocol, in case of full-state measurement, for uncertain heterogeneous agents based on a distributed disagreement reasoning. Specifically, we first define unknown gains (feedback and coupling gains) that could lead all agents to a homogeneous behavior and thus synchronization: however, since these gains are unknown in view of the unknown dynamics, we design adaptive laws for these gains that lead the agents toward synchronization. The adaptive laws are driven by a disagreement error which is calculated among neighbors: a Lyapunov analysis is presented for showing convergence of the synchronization error to zero.Accepted Author ManuscriptTeam Bart De Schutte

No full textThe outbreak of the recent crisis that began at the end of the last decade eventually uncovered the problems that almost all Western economies had been able to camouflage thanks to economic growth fueled by an unprecedented expansion in the financial industry. Within this context the Italian economy is a special case: its annual growth rate has been lower than that of its traditional partners and competitors for the last 15 years. Even the most optimistic forecasts for the next several years do not indicate significant improvements in the Italian competitive position. The success it enjoyed following its participation in the European Monetary Union brought to the fore the structural backwardness of the Italian economy, which is the main reason behind its low growth rates. The complexity and costs investors face when starting a business, the complexity and inefficiency of the fiscal, credit, and the legal systems, the difficulties associated with investor protection are only some of the obstacles that entrepreneurs face at the time of investing in Italy. More recently, we need to add a new weakness, that – until a few years ago – was considered a key factor in its success, i.e., the size of Italian firms
Adaptive synchronization in networks with heterogeneous uncertain Kuramoto-like units
No full textWe analyze adaptive synchronization capabilities in networks with Kuramoto-like units whose dynamical features are unknown and thus synchronization protocols must exhibit co-evolution capabilities. In the presence of heterogeneous and uncertain units, synchronization should be enabled by appropriate adaptive protocols that counteract the effect of heterogeneity. An interaction protocol is presented that is used by the units to communicate with each other: the protocol is based on a distributed disagreement measure. The aim of the protocol is to adapt feedback and coupling gains, so as to guarantee the emergence of a synchronous solution. The adaptive strategy is distributed, i.e. each unit self-determines the strength of its gains by using only neighboring measurements. Convergence of the synchronization error to zero is shown via Lyapunov analysis, and numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed protocol.Accepted Author ManuscriptTeam Bart De Schutte
