Convergency of the Monte Carlo algorithm for the solution of the Wigner quantum-transport equation
The Wigner function provides a convenient description for single-particle quantum transport in space dependent systems, such as modern nanoelectronic devices. A Monte Carlo algorithm has been recently introduced for the solution of this integro-differential equation. However, when the potential applied to the system has different limits at + and −∞, a convergence problem arises for the kernel of the integral part of the equation. In this paper, we discuss the rigorous mathematical aspects of the convergency of the solution of the Wigner equation and of the Neumann expansion on which the Monte Carlo algorithm is based
Sistem COBISS v Makedoniji s posebnim poudarkom na izkušnjah katalogizatorjev
The COBISS system in Macedonia especially cataloguing is one of the key issues in the field of librarianship. The purpose of this master thesis is to improve effectiveness and efficiency in COBISS system in Macedonia from cataloguers\u27 point of view. On the other hand we are trying to determine issues causing difficulties and challenges facing cataloguers with licence in COBISS system in Macedonia. According to the obtained results cataloguers consider that they: are satisfied with module COBISS/Cataloguing and have a positive experience working in this environmentconsider that quality of processed records due to the fact of a good knowledge of cataloguing rules, experience in processing of bibliographic records as well as appropriate formal and informal educationcourses and seminars held in NUL are not sufficient should be with higher quality to offer new contents and more frequenthave difficulties with application and interpretation of traditional cataloguing code. Potential solutions are: construction of a higher-education system in the field of LIS following contemporary trendsintroduction of national cataloguing code harmonized according to the IFLA rules for cataloguingincreasing higher quality control of bibliographic records and greater focus on responsibility and performance of cataloguers.
Cognitive support for older people from multimedia options
If older users of multimedia displays could select among presentation options, would they choose display combinations that supported their performance? After three short touch-screen tasks which measured the perceptual and cognitive abilities of 50 older adults, they answered questions about a route on an online map that could be accompanied by written and/or spoken text. Half the participants saw animated routes; and they were less accurate answering questions than those who saw static routes but this did not affect people’s multimedia choices which, although diverse, were systematic. Spoken text was more often selected by people who had lower scores on the spatial working memory task, than by the older adults with higher scores. This suggests that older people with cognitive limitations recognise ways in which multimedia information can be supportive
The Reflective Entrepreneur
In a world where entrepreneurial success often seems deceptively accessible, it is not always clear what makes a person entrepreneurial. In this book, Dimo Dimov offers a reflective insight into the entrepreneurial journey, striking up a conversation about entrepreneurship in order to challenge and untangle existing preconceptions. A discussion of challenges and tensions such as idea versus opportunity, genius versus lunatic, and skill versus luck forms the foundation of the book, while the second part offers actions and considerations which can help the reader to seek opportunities in a fractious environment. The final part of the text focuses on the collective spirit in entrepreneurship, arising from the interplay between participation and outcomes. The author brings a succinct diversity to the field, making this book essential reading for undergraduate and postgraduate students on entrepreneurship courses, as well as scholars, researchers, and practitioners looking for a new perspective on entrepreneurship

Solving The Bridge Maintenance Problem In Bulgaria - an Analysis of The Opportunities Offered By Composite Materials
Many bridges all around the world experience very hard climatic conditions, and due to the irregular maintenance effort, show different problems of cracking, concrete cover detachment and steel reinforcement wear and corrosion.
In general, as a consequence of the polluted rain wetting, the problem is more evident in vertical structures than in the horizontal ones, and serious problems can arise when the piers and columns are very tall.
In recent times, the solutions offered by composite materials have shown their effectiveness in the field of bridge maintenance. As a consequence of lightness and ease of installation they are particularly intended to the rehabilitation of tall slender structures. Furthermore, the externally bonded reinforcement offers a valid protection to chloride diffusion and rusting of steel rebars.
In the paper the situation of the Bulgarian highways is briefly discussed in order to point out the key factors that promote the deterioration of the concrete structures.
Afterwards, the recent knowledge gained in the retrofit of building and bridges gained in Italy in ten years of external application of FRP as a solving problem tool is summarized.
Finally, the potentiality of these techniques in the solution of the maintenance problem of Bulgarian bridges is reviewed, with the aim to point out the possible cost reduction and life extension characteristic of these solutions, when translated in the Bulgarian environment.

Appearance-Based 3D Object Approach to Human Ears Recognition
The paper presents an approach for recognition of 3D objects using a database (DB) of precedents. Each object of interest for recognition is presented in the DB through a sufficient number of 2D projections (images), each from a different view point. If it is available a CBIR method to access the DB that is to be fast enough and noise resistant, the number of necessary view positions for each 3D object can be substantially reduced, for example, to several tens or a few hundreds of images. The authors have already applied successfully this appear-ance-based approach two times: i) for recognition of palm signs from a sign language alphabet and ii) for human face recognition. The recent advance in 3D scanning technologies allow to fresh up the learning phase of the proposed method, i.e. the DB gathering of the necessary appearance of precedents for 3D objects, now more accurately and simply. At the same time, the true recognition remains based on images from conventional 2D cameras. This study aims to experiment the mentioned approach for the case of human ears recognition, which, according to our research is of interest to the guild on Biometrics, in the country, in Europe and worldwide
Using the Wigner function for quantum transport in device simulation
The Wigner function was introduced as a generalization of the concept of distribution function for quantum statistics. The aim of this work is pushing further the formal analogy between quantum and classical approaches. The Wigner function is defined as an ensemble average, i.e., in terms of a mixture of pure states. From the point of view of basic physics, it would be very appealing to be able to define a Wigner function also for pure states and the associated expectation values for quantum observables, in strict analogy with the definition of mean value of a physical quantity in classical mechanics; then correct results for any quantum system should be recovered as appropriate superpositions of such ''pure-state'' quantities. We will show that this is actually possible, st the cost of dealing with generalized functions in place of proper functions
