Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textTreball Final de Màster Universitari en Professor/a d'Educació Secundària Obligatòria i Batxillerat, Formació Professional i Ensenyaments d'Idiomes. Codi: SAP319. Curs acadèmic 2014/2015Aquest treball duu a terme el desenvolupament d’una proposta didàctica per al Museu de Belles Arts de Castelló i reivindica la seua utilització per alumnes de 2n de batxillerat i el respectiu professorat. El material dissenyat acompanyarà a les visites que ajudaran a consolidar els coneixements adquirits a classe gràcies a l’aprenentatge significatiu, el qual es produirà a través de l’observació directa dels paral·lelismes fets entre obres del llibre de text i obres que es troben entre les sales del museu. Així, es compliran els objectius de conèixer pintures i escultures noves que aportaran més cultura visual i artística, afavorint l’ensenyament i aprenentatge a nivell personal d’autors de la província i del País Valencià, entre d’altres.
En aquest document es volen remarcar les visites a espais culturals com a exemples verídics de llocs on les noves generacions, des de l’escola, l’institut o la universitat, poden posar en pràctica aquells continguts vistos amb anterioritat perquè els han estat ensenyats i, posteriorment, poder utilitzar-los quan s’esdevinga l’oportunitat. Aquest fet ha de ser possible sempre que algú els oferisca l’ocasió d’entrar a institucions on l’alumnat no sempre accedeix amb la família. Aquest “algú” ha de ser el o la docent. Serà així doncs, com el món en el que viuen tindrà sentit, gràcies a una educació a través de l’ensenyament artístic, la valoració i conservació del patrimoni cultural i l’interès per les noves corrents contemporànies. A més a més, el coneixement de les imatges que es troben distribuïdes dins de les sales dels museus és necessari per a elaborar un gust estètic i cultural major, el qual facilitarà una certa tolerància, acceptació i enteniment cap a l’art contemporani d’avui dia, que explica la societat del consum i la informació en la que estem capficats i capficades i, que moltes vegades, no ens deixa aturar-nos a pensar i ser crítics amb ella mateixa. No obstant, és una llàstima saber que el currículum no s’acaba complint a causa de la manca de temps per finalitzar-lo, cosa que perjudica greument la connexió institució educativa-comunitat i les interrelacions entre la joventut dels nostres temps amb els espais culturals, els quals són capaços de facilitar-los respostes a les tantes preguntes que els poden passar pel cap

No full textTreball final de Màster Universitari en Professor/a d'Educació Secundària Obligatòria i Batxillerat, Formació Professional i Ensenyaments d'Idiomes. Codi: SAP129. Curs acadèmic 2013-2014Aquest és un Treball Final de Màster que mostra un Projecte de Millora Educativa basat en la
metodologia d’Investigació-Acció dut a terme per un alumne del màster en la seua estada en
pràctiques a un institut.
Els grups on s’intenta portar la millora són dos tercers d’ESO. La problemàtica detectada és la falta
de participació i interès de l’alumnat cap a l’assignatura, en aquest cas concret Educació Plàstica i
Visual. Una vegada detectada aquesta problemàtica es comencen a recopilar dades per verificar
que això és cert. Quan queda palès, es busca bibliografia per tal de trobar l’arrel del problema i fer
canvis en el funcionament de les sessions per tal d’augmentar tal interès i participació i així, també,
millorar els resultats d’aprenentatge.
A l’inici s’observa que l’alumnat no presta molta atenció, no participa molt en classe, gran part no
porta el material de l’assignatura, alguns no entreguen les fitxes que els mana el professor i les
qualificacions no són gaire bones.
Per millorar això i recolzant-nos en la bibliografia especialitzada s’apliquen una sèrie de canvis que
consisteixen en canviar l’actitud del professor per fer-la més propera i fer sentir l’alumne valorat
(Bacete & Betoret, 1997) i implicar-lo en la classe, adaptar el temari a la seua realitat (experiències
i vida quotidiana) (Aguilar & Dorantes, 2010), utilitzant mètodes de participació, ja siguen durant
les classes explicatives (Bacete & Betoret, 1997) com en les activitats (Sanmarti, 2010), proposar
una tasca per treballar de manera col·laborativa (Sanmarti, 2010) recolzant-nos en l’ús de les TIC
(Calzadilla, 2002) (Casado, y otros, 2007) i qualificant-la, en un percentatge concret, mitjançant la
coavaluació.
Durant el procés del canvi les dades que es van recollint apunten a que les accions estan donant el
seu fruit i la predisposició dels alumnes cap a l’assignatura està canviant. En les observacions finals
notem que tot l’alumnat ha realitzat la tasca i només un no l’ha passat amb èxit. Cosa que ve a
demostrar que les accions han tingut un èxit elevat tenint en compte els objectius marcats però
que podem millorar, ja que algun aspecte ha empitjorat, sobretot a l’hora de mantindre l’ordre de
la classe.
L’actitud de l’alumnat al llarg de les sessions en les que hem establert les millores ha virat cap on
nosaltres ens havíem proposat, hem fet que els alumnes participen més en l’assignatura,
s’interessen més per aquesta i realitzen les tasques. A més, per la manera de treballar escollida els
resultats d’aprenentatge són millors ja que els grups eren heterogenis i, per tant, les qualificacions
augmenten.
Tot i això han sorgit noves situacions que calen millorar com el control de la classe en alguns
moments, el recull de les dades de la coavaluació, el funcionament del treball en grup i també la
recollida de dades de l’observació ja que, tot i que en general hem notat millores, com hem fet
tants canvis resulta difícil detectar quins han donat millores més rellevants i quins no o inclús
aquells que poden haver perjudicat. Per a això hem fet una proposta de millora encaminada a seguir amb les estratègies que han
funcionat i corregir les que no ho han fet com esperàvem com són controlar més les intervencions
amb torns de paraula i regles establertes entre tots, avaluar per part del professor o, en cas que
siga coavaluació, fer-ho mitjançant alguna aplicació informàtica que facilite el recull de dades,
aprofundir en les “regles” del treball en grup i fer nous qüestionaris més encaminats a observar el
resultat de les noves accions
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full textTreball Final de Màster Universitari en Igualtat i Gènere en l'Àmbit Públic i Privat (Pla de 2013). Codi: SRM044. Curs 2024-2025El present treball té com a objecte d’estudi la presència masculina en les cures. S’ha
pogut comprovar l’escassedat d’estudis sobre masculinitats cuidadores enfront de la
quantitat d’estudis sobre cures com a àmbit tradicionalment feminitzat. Aquesta
diferència reforça la invisibilització de molts homes cuidadors que poden qüestionar les
masculinitats hegemòniques i apropar-se a formes dissidents, ja reivindicades per
corrents feministes dels anys setanta i vuitanta. Històricament, les dones han estat les
responsables quasi exclusives de l’atenció familiar. No obstant això, la seva incorporació
massiva al mercat laboral, juntament amb polítiques de conciliació i la Llei de
Dependència (39/2006), han transformat les relacions de reproducció social. Cada
vegada més homes —especialment jubilats— apareixen com a cuidadors no
professionals, fins i tot superant en nombre a dones de més de 80 anys. És pertinent
per tant, obrir la reflexió sobre els motiu que porten els homes a cuidar i sobre com la
societat patriarcal gestiona la seva incorporació.
L’objectiu general del treball és analitzar la implicació dels homes en les cures i la seva
relació amb la construcció de gènere. D’aquest objectiu se’n deriven d’altres específics,
com ara entendre la decisió voluntària de cuidar una familiar dependent, explorar
dificultats, estratègies i aprenentatges, observar les crítiques i incoherències socials al
voltant del seu rol, i identificar resistències i empoderaments que puguen inspirar noves
polítiques d’igualtat, contribuint al debat sobre igualtat i cures en una societat en
transformació.
Metodològicament, el treball combina l’anàlisi documental amb entrevistes obertes a
cuidadors no professionals, en una aproximació mixta que integra dades quantitatives i
qualitatives. L’aportació central prové de les veus dels propis cuidadors, que permeten
identificar discursos emergents, condicionants de gènere i divergències respecte a
estudis previs. La recerca se situa a la comarca de la Ribera Alta (País Valencià), amb
una població envellida que evidencia la necessitat creixent de cures. Tot i la xicoteta
mostra estudiada, es confirmen perfils majoritaris de cuidadors, però també es
visibilitzen les seues dificultats, comparables amb les de les dones. Homes i dones
comparteixen l’erosió física i emocional, la sensació d’interdependència i la pèrdua de
valor social. Però els homes pateixen, a més, vulnerabilitat negada i aïllament en un
entorn privat feminitzat
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
