A new cohesive model for simulating delamination propagation in composite laminates under transverse loads
In this paper, we propose a new cohesive model to stably and accurately simulate the\ud
delamination propagations in composite laminates under quasi-static and low-velocity\ud
impact transverse loads using comparatively coarse meshes. In this model, a pre-softening\ud
zone ahead of the existing traditional softening zone is proposed. In this pre-softening zone,\ud
the initial stiffnesses and the interface strengths at the integration points of cohesive elements\ud
are gradually reduced as the corresponding effective relative displacements at these\ud
points increase. However, the onset displacement corresponding to the onset damage is\ud
not changed in this model. Moreover, the fracture toughness of materials for determining\ud
the final displacement of complete decohesion is kept constant. This cohesive model is\ud
implemented in the explicit time integration scheme combined with a powerful threedimensional\ud
(3D) hybrid finite element for evaluating the delamination propagations on\ud
interfaces in composite laminates. A DCB problem is employed to analyze the characteristics\ud
of the present cohesive model. In order to reduce the computational cost for dealing\ud
with more complex problems, a stress-based criterion is also adopted in our numerical\ud
model for evaluating various in-plane damages, such as matrix cracks, fiber breakage,\ud
etc. Finally, two experimental examples are employed to illustrate the validity of the present\ud
approach
Broadband satellite multimedia
The broadband satellite multimedia (BSM) architecture standardised by ETSI defines a satellite independent service access point (SI-SAP) interface layer that separates the satellite independent features of the upper layers from the satellite dependant features of the lower layers, and provides a mechanism to carry IP-based protocols over these satellite dependent lower layers. This enables interoperability at the IP layer between satellite systems of different physical and link layers technologies that fully comply with the SI-SAP concept. This study reviews past and current standardisation activities including the BSM quality of service (QoS) architecture, security architecture, network management that have been carried out by the ETSI Technical Committee-Satellite Earth Stations and Systems (TC-SES)/BSM working group and looking into the future to extend current SI-SAP functions that can enhance existing QoS provision and security management
capabilities as well as proposing a mobility management architecture that complies with the IEEE 802.21 media independent handover framework to support BSM mobility and to allow integration of satellite networks with fixed and mobile network infrastructures. A service-based network management architecture is also proposed to allow management flexibility and integration of business and operation support functions, paving the way for satellite integration into the Internet of the future

“Why did she love her mother’s so?”: L.E.L. Forging Corinne
The early decades of the nineteenth century witnessed a renewed interest in the folklore of the mermaid. This period of intensified nation-building and pursuit of individual spirit gradually shifted the political concerns of the medieval romance, such as in the French legend of M?lusine, to the struggle of Romantic author, such as in Corinne, or Italy (1807) by Germaine de Sta?l. Corinne, an improvisatrice of hybrid origin becomes a model for women writers in the nineteenth century. Their responses can be summed up in the polarized paradigm of the poetess represented by Felicia Dorothea Hemans, “the pious mother,” and Letitia Elizabeth Landon, the pretty verse maker.
Landon’s self-definition as a poetess against the model of Corinne develops in three phases in which she adjusts her alignment with her foremothers and finally finds a way out of the impasse bequeathed by them, namely the overwhelming emphasis on the body. First, in “The Improvisatrice,” Landon exploits Corinne’s performative art to exude the visual confines demanded by the popular periodicals and gift annuals. Second, in “The Fairy of the Fountains,” she adapts the matrilineal legend of M?lusine by crafting the word rather than the body of the Fairy into the crux of transgression. Third, in “Corinne at the Cape of Misena,” Landon uses her translation of Corinne’s last song to reinstate her virtuosity. This paper seeks to delineate the ways in which Landon forges her own authority as a new Corinne by capitalizing on the “mingled dower” of M?lusine

Taxonomic re-assessment of Kindbergia (Brachytheciaceae, Bryophyta) in China, with a description of Pseudokindbergia gen. nov.
The distribution and systematic position of Kindbergia Ochyra in China is re-evaluated. The phylogenetic analyses based on nuclear marker (ITS1-5.8S-ITS2) and chloroplastic markers (rpl16, trnG, and trnL-F) show that the alleged species of "Kindbergia" in China and Himalayas form a maximally supported clade (1.00 PP and 100 MPBS), which is closely related to the clade of Brachythecium Schimp., Eurhynchiadelphus Ignatov et Huttunen, and Myuroclada Besch., whereas the other Kindbergia specimens from Africa, America, Europe, Japan and the Southern Hemisphere form a monophyletic group, which is sister to Scleropodium Schimp. The specimens of Chinese species of "Kindbergia" are found, both molecularly and morphologically, to be identical with the Himalayan K. dumosa (Mitt.) Ignatov et Huttunen, and differ from Kindbergia specimens from other regions in the world in the shape of proximal branch leaves, operculum shape and capsule orientation. A new monotypic genus Pseudokindbergia M. Li, Y.F. Wang, Ignatov et B.C. Tan, is established to accommodate only the generitype P. dumosa (Mitt.) M. Li, Y.F. Wang, Ignatov et B.C. Tan, comb. nov. (≡ Hypnum dumosum Mitt.), and Bryhnia serricuspis (Mitt.) Y.F. Wang et R.L. Hu (≡ Eurhynchium serricuspis Mitt.) is considered synonymous with it.</p
