Letter from P.T. Keohane to Hagan
Holograph letter from 'K.' (P.T. Keohane), 91 Hollybank Road, Drumcondra, Dublin, to (Hagan), thanking him for the invitation to Rome he may accept it in the near future. Stating that he met a mutual friend who explained 'the unfortunate, but to me, not unexpected developments, in his case'. Wondering how one usually so prudent did not 'turn the foreigner down'. His application for the (vice-rectorship) ought to cut all opposition out of court. Having made enquiries about 'the western candidate' he has only found out that, while 'sound', he takes no prominent part in things
Letter from P.T. Keohane to Hagan
Holograph letter from K. (P.T. Keohane) of M.H. Gill & Son Ltd., Dublin, to Hagan, with best wishes for his new position. Commenting on the local government elections: wondering how long local administrators 'can continue to function at all in the circumstances'; Labour is split and their 'genuine portion' not going forward is an advantage; some disparaging comments on the 'fossils of Party strife' like John Dillon, Horace Plunkett, 'the buffoon' George Bernard Shaw and others straining to stay before the public, with Griffith somewhat supporting Plunkett for whom 'he has always had a hankering regard'- Griffith will need to be placed 'in his proper perspective both here and in America'. Comment on the diplomatic expressions used by Fr. O'Shea in the Irish Press Philadelphia; fortunately the Pope he deals with is dead. Also adding financial matters; enclosing a list of Acta Apostolica Sedis for 1921 (not extant); ordering breviaries. Cryptic remarks about him not losing sight of the invitation, his health during the war, and 'Fr. M.' laughing with him over the whole matter

Silent Halls: P.T., Freud, and Psychological Horror
“What is a ghost?”“An emotion, a terrible moment condemned to repeat itself over and over…”-The Devil’s Backbone (Del Toro, 2001)
This paper analyses P.T.(Kojima Productions, 2014), a playable teaser made to demo a planned instalment within the Silent Hill franchise. While the game is now indefinitely cancelled, P.T. has cemented itself not only as a full gaming experience, but also as a juggernaut in genre of psychological horror. Drawing from Sigmund Freud’s concept of the uncanny, the aim of the paper is to address how these psychological concepts surface within the now infamous never-ending hallway of P.T. and create a deeply psychologically horrifying experience
An unattainability conjecture
It is suggested that limits to the variation of physical variables are themselves unattainable, though they can be approached as closely as desired. This general unattainability principle is illustrated in various ways. It leads on to a study of how to remove infinities in physics when they cause conceptual problems, and how to introduce infinities or zeros for those boundary points in physics which are in some sense unattainable. An analogy between temperature in thermodynamics and time in cosmology is pointed out for the case when boundary points are involved
Colorado River -- Grand Canyon p.1
Aerial view of the rapid at mile 232.4 showing how the main current drives onto a nest of rocks at flows of under 8000 cfs. At volumes above this figure, the current moves toward mid-river. This picture was taken on October 4, 1958 when the Grand Canyon gauge read 6550 cfs. The reading on October 3 was 6900 cfs. and a volume in this range would require about 24 hours to travel the 145 miles from Grand Canyon gauge to this point. The probable flow on which the Hyde couple died met the conditions shown. Photo by: P.T. Reilly, taken 10-4-1958. Gift of P.T. Reilly
Everyman's guide to third generation efficiencies
A number of 'third generation' mechanisms that have been suggested to improve the solar cell efficiency include impact ionisation, hot electrons, impurities, intermediate bands or quantum wells. This paper shows how some of these efficiencies might be estimated using general thermodynamic values for the maximum free energy which can be generated by a quantum solar converter. The aim is to obtain 'rule of thumb' estimates which are valid for generic groups of devices rather than for specific structures. The principal novel element is a simple expression for the open circuit voltage which is obtained by generalising an approximation which follows from the detailed balance theory for the conventional one photon → one electron-hole pair scenario, to more general situations. Bv modelling the device with the use of an equivalent circuit optimal the usual laws which govern voltages and currents in electrical circuits can be re-interpreted in terms of thermodynamic quantities
Letter from P.T. Keohane to Hagan
Holograph letter from P.T.K.(eohane) of M.H. Gill & Son, Ltd., Dublin, 'my dear Friend' (Hagan). Very relieved that Fr. Ned (Morrissey) is now with him; thankfully he could travel with Frs. McShane and Smyth. Keohane had never understood how badly he had really been. Commenting on Stuckley in the 'Wine'-series (Catholic Bulletin). Sean T. looks well. Not regretting the failure in North Dublin- 'Padraic O'Malley ...could not open his mouth without putting his foot in it'. There is little sympathy with Sceilg and his crowd- Keohane feels intensely with him but they cannot talk about the matter at all
Private Law, Digital Assets, and Infrastructure
This book addresses perhaps the most pervasive, topical and unsettled collection of themes and questions in the contemporary legal world, subsisting in private law and emergent technologies such as digital assets, blockchain and cryptocurrency. Private law frameworks across the globe are struggling to keep pace with rapid technological developments that typify the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This sluggishness is triggering a swathe of important but unanswered practical and theoretical legal questions. These questions concern critical matters of legality, practicality, utility, appropriate regulation, and the underlying theoretical basis for state intervention. This book uniquely combines a variety of themes which have not been the subject of significant writing and which are sure to inform live discourse and regulatory efforts in the space of digital assets and infrastructure, blockchain, cryptocurrency and related emerging technologies. Private law currently finds itself at a crossroads, and governments and courts are frantically searching for guidance as to how to approach the themes and questions addressed in this book. Legal practitioners, scholars and students of the law are equally perplexed as to private law's current and future directions in this space. The book therefore offers essential perspectives that will appeal to legislators, regulators, judges, lawyers, scholars, and students alike.P.T. Babie, Mark Giancaspro (editors
Analysis of the Video Game P.T. in Light of Horror Film Criticism
This essay discusses the monster present in the video game P.T. (Playable Teaser). The basis of analysis is the classical horror film criticism, and how the notions of the academic sources resurface and change in the video game.AnglisztikaBSc/B
