METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data:
Semi-structured interviews. Data was created through interviews with participants in Australian English. Interviews were audio recorded on iPhone 8 with rode microphone.
2. Consent: Each participant was provided a Participant Information Form and a consent form. Participants were asked explicitly asked about inclusion of their material in the open- access databank and provided informed consent.
3. Ownership and Access: R01-Sarina Kilham. Open-Access Data Archive- Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial CC BY-NC
4. Collection Mode: Audio recorded semi-structured interview. Interviews conducted in person or via online meeting software.
5. Sampling Method: purposeful sampling via open invitation to community of practitioners.
6. Methods for processing the data: Interviews were recorded in multiple audio-files to prevent data loss by stopping and re-starting the audio recorder. Audio files were combined in the software "Descript" and exported as a single audio file. The single audio file was transcribed by AI-Tool in the software "Descript" and checked by a human for accuracy. Transcripts were sent to participants to for accuracy checking, and the version included here incorporates any amendments or rectifications from the participants.
7. Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data:
Software: Descript. Used for AI-transcriptions and combining multiple audio files into single file.
8. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: n/a
9. Environmental/experimental conditions: n/a
10. Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data:
Sarina Kilham checked all transcriptions against the original audio for accuracy.
Participants were sent transcriptions for checking.

Biomechanical evaluation of double-stranded knot configurations in high-strength sutures and tapes.
PURPOSE
Recently, a new dynamic high-strength suture (DC) was introduced, also available in tape form (DT), featuring a salt-infused silicone core attracting water in a fluid environment to preserve tissue approximation. The aims of this study were to (1) assess the influence of securing throw number on knot security of two double-stranded knot configurations (Cow-hitch and Nice-knot) tied with either dynamic (DC and DT) or conventional (FW and ST) high-strength sutures and tapes, and (2) compare the ultimate force and knot slippage of the novel dynamic versus conventional sutures and tapes when used with their minimal number of needed securing throws.
METHODS
Seven specimens of each FW, ST, DC and DT were considered for tying with Cow-hitch or Nice-knots. The base of these Cow-hitch and Nice-knots was secured with surgeons` knots using 1-3 alternating throws. Tensile tests were conducted under physiologic conditions to evaluate knot slippage, ultimate force at rupture, and minimum number of throws ensuring 100% knot security. RESULTS: For both Cow-hitch and Nice-knots, 100% security was achieved with 2 securing throws for DC, DT, ST, and with 3 securing throws for FW. With these minimum numbers of securing throws, ultimate force was significantly higher for Nice-knots versus Cow-hitch tied with DT (p = 0.001) and slippage was significantly less with Nice-knots versus Cow-hitch tied with DC (p = 0.019).
CONCLUSIONS
The minimum number of securing throws required to achieve 100% security was 2 with DC, DT and ST for both Cow-hitch and Nice-knots configurations, in contrast to FW where 3 securing throws were needed. With these minimum numbers of securing throws, Nice-knots were associated with significantly higher ultimate forces when using DT and lower slippage with DC versus Cow-hitch knots

Effects of the Transcendental Meditation Program on Substance Use among University Students
A randomized wait-list controlled trial (=295 university students) of the effects of the Transcendental Meditation program was conducted in an urban setting. Substance use was assessed by self-report at baseline and 3 months later. For smoking and illicit drug use, there were no significant differences between conditions. For alcohol use, sex X intervention condition interactions were significant; TM instruction lowered drinking rates among male but not female students. TM instruction could play a valuable role in reducing alcohol use among male university students. Limitations are noted, along with suggestions for further research

Srebrenica is not a Metaphor : The Significance of the Srebrenica Memorial Center - Potočari for Understanding Genocide
The author will emphasize the importance of both the existence and the further development of the Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Center, in the context of the continued need to understand the genocide that took place in and around Srebrenica, from the aspect of building a culture of remembrance throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H). This is necessary in order to continue fighting the ongoing genocide denial. At first glance, a culture of remembrance presupposes immobility and focus on the past to some, but it is essentially dynamic, and connects three temporal dimensions: it evokes the present, refers to the past but always deliberates over the future. In this paper, the emphasis is placed on the concept of the place of remembrance, the lieu de memoire as introduced by the historian Pierre Nora. In this sense, a place of remembrance such as the Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Center is an expression of a process in which people are no longer just immersed in their past but read and analyze it in the present. Furthermore, looking to the future, they also become mediators of relations between people and communities, which in sociological theory is an important issue of social relations. The author of this paper emphasizes that collective memory in the specific case of genocide in and around Srebrenica is only possible when the social relations around the building (Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Center) crystallize, which is then much more than just the content of the culture of remembrance
An analysis of Brooklyn's rabbinical Takana prohibiting Syrian and Near Eastern Jews from marrying converts
This master's thesis explores the roots of the 1935 Takana - which forbids marriage to those who convert for the purpose of marriage - and subsequent reaffirmations issued by Rabbi Jacob S. Kassin, the Brooklyn, NY Syrian Jewish community's Chief Rabbi, and the Rabbinical Council of the Syrian community. Such marriages were not to be recognized by the community. Children of such marriages could not attend community yeshivot. Further, rites of passage such as bar mitzvahs, weddings and the right to be buried in the community's cemetery were denied, as well as synagogue honors. The author provides historical context, examines 18th century practices on marriage to converts in the United States, interviews community rabbis, discusses enforcement, provides individual cases, examines demographics, and analyzes the changes in the Takana with each Reaffirmation. The author also provides a social context for how the Takana is interpreted 70 years after it was issued. As a community member, the author provides valuable insight into how the Takana is interpreted by the community's members.Thesis (M.J.S.)--Touro College, 2006.School code: 1512
