Elizabeth Moore, Springfield Nursing School 1894
Elizabeth Moore was a member of the first graduating class of the Springfield Nursing School of 1894. She is shown holding the first baby born at Springfield Hospital, who patient logs confirm was the only infant delivered at the facility that year. Most deliveries occurred at home, on only St. Luke\u27s Maternity Hospital on Oak Street in downtown Springfield providing inpatient maternity care at the time.https://scholarlycommons.libraryinfo.bhs.org/bmc/1005/thumbnail.jp
