Trends of Europeanization in social welfare politics. IHS Political Science Series 82, July 2002
Fritz W. Scharpf (2000 and 2002) defines the term Europeanization as the progressive shift of governmental tasks to the European level. According to this understanding he identifies four modes of Europeanization. Further, he recognizes the establishment of minimum standards and the open method of co-ordination as specific modes of Europeanization. This paper first relates the welfare political goals and problems of both named methods of Europeanization in social welfare politics, then describes the political processes which accompany them, and subsequently tests whether Scharpf’s analysis can be affirmed
This article discusses the Katz-Bernstein Integrative Therapy Concept of „Safe Place“ and expands it further by application in the treatment of in-patients with eating disorders. The author, a Movement Therapist at the Bad Neuenahr Clinic for Children andAdolescent Psychiatry, describes the Diagnosis, aetiology and Psychotherapy of Anorexia and Bulimia. Using three case Studies, specific aspects of „Safe Place“ as „Potential Space“ (Winnicott), attachment theory and the inherent possibilities of Marking Off are also illustrated in detail.https://www.fpi-publikation.de/polyloge/18-2008-hensler-ute-elisabeth-der-eigene-ort-safe-place-arbeit-mit-essgestoerten-jugendlichen/peerReviewedpublishedVersio

Sustainability training for SMEs
This paper discusses essential results of a research project at the University of Oldenburg. Under
the supervision of the Centre for Lifelong Learning (C3L), the department of Business
Informatics/ Very Large Business Application (VLBA) and the ecco consultancy, SME training
needs in the context of sustainable management were evaluated and translated into a SME-related
qualification concept. Although the topic of sustainability is particularly important for SMEs, it is
an enormous challenge for the majority to develop their employees’ skills and competencies in this
area. As yet, the external education to support sustainability management in SMEs is hardly
developed – this includes specific training needs for various sustainable management aspects.http://enviroinfo.eu/sites/default/files/pdfs/vol8514/0049.pd
Die Wien - kann doch mehr!? A revitalisation attempt of the Wiental, with its river, in order to increase biodiversity and expand the fresh air corridor, and to and to make the area accessible to the public. to the public
The Vienna River underwent numerous transformations in its history and went from being a river with floodplain areas to a sealed channel that was spatially disconnected from the city. The Vienna was transformed over decades by flood protection measures. The largest and last reconstruction of the river took place around 1900. For hygienic reasons, the last existing natural green spaces were removed with the regulation of the river and the watercourse was converted into a canal. For some years now, there have been efforts to renaturalise and revitalise the Vienna River in order to mitigate the rising temperatures in Vienna as well as to provide the city itself with more green spaces and recreational areas. This paper deals with the revitalisation of the Vienna River. In the first part, a historical analysis of the Vienna with its overformations is described, which then leads on to today's topic of climate change and the creation of more green space in Vienna. The basis for the measures developed is the Urban Heat Island Strategy Plan of the City of Vienna. In the second part, concrete interventions are developed with the help of a self-made catalogue, which presents the possibilities of different interventions along the Vienna River. The last part of the thesis is implemented by means of a design at a concrete location using the catalogue created in the previous chapter. The area to be worked on is located between the underground stations of the U4 line, Schönbrunn and Hietzing and includes Hadikpark and Coudenhove Park, the car park of Schönbrunn Palace and the Vienna River itself. Due to traffic infrastructures and the canal, these areas are separated from each other and are seen and perceived as separate areas. To counteract this, the main themes are accessibility and greening of the watercourse and thus making people aware of the forgotten river again
A Tool for Simulating the Spread of Invasive Mosquitoes
There are many concerns about the spread and establishment of exotic mosquito species in Europe,
some of which are highly competent to transmit pathogens. The fast spread of some invasive
mosquito species, e.g. the Asian bush mosquito, might be explained by a combination of natural
dispersal and human transport. Therefore, the aim of this study was the development of a software
tool that is capable to model the local spatial-temporal spread of invasive mosquitoes through
natural dispersal and their transportation through human transport via cars. The evaluation of the
tool shows that it is capable to simulate the spread but also reveals the need for more biological
data about invasive mosquito species.http://enviroinfo.eu/sites/default/files/pdfs/vol8514/0279.pd
Towards Green ERP Systems: The selection driven perspective
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system has become a vital strategic tool in today’s
competitive business environment. Recently, a high demand is emerging for computer-based
information systems that better support corporate sustainability management. In this regard ERP
systems are supposed to contribute for these demands such that they can be considered under the
categories of Corporate Environmental Management Information Systems (CEMIS). Such ERP
systems are considered as Green ERP systems and there are several efforts towards such systems.
These efforts also contribute to the realization of the concepts behind the project IT-for-Green,
which is running at University of Oldenburg. One of the modules in this project, which is named
Green IT, emphasis on effective system utilization under efficient power consumption. Therefore
the effort towards Green ERP systems will also add up to the efforts of the project IT-for-Green.
For the instrumentation of this concept, companies should be aware of Green ERP systems and
should also consider and emphasis on dimensions in evaluating the greenness of ERP systems. At
this junction, one of the major issues to be addressed is the determination of the dimensions to
evaluate the greenness of ERP systems. This study is, therefore, motivated to determine the
dimensions in evaluating the greenness of ERP systems. In determining these dimensions the study
first identified general ERP selection criteria and further refined them and come up with suitable
criteria for the assessment of the greenness of ERP solutions. Based on this result, companies are
expected to emphasis on such criteria to identify a Green ERP alternative and this will also enforce
vendors towards the manufacturing of Green ERP systems.http://enviroinfo.eu/sites/default/files/pdfs/vol8514/0421.pd
Metadata and NCBI-Accession numbers of 16S data for seawater and Craniella sponges from the North Atlantic Ocean and an aquarium experiment in 2017 and 2018
Deep-sea sponge grounds are underexplored ecosystems that provide numerous goods and services to the functioning of the deep-sea. This study assessed the microbial diversity (by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing) in embryos, juveniles and adults of Craniella zetlandica and Craniella infrequens, common and abundant representatives of deep-sea sponge grounds in the North Atlantic. For this study, in total 39 sponge individuals of the two sponge species were collected and analysed for their associated microbial community composition: C. zetlandica (8 adults, of which one was brooding, and 9 juveniles) and C. infrequens (8 adults, of which four were brooding, and 9 juveniles). We use the term 'juvenile' for small (i.e. mean diameter = 1 cm for C. infrequens; and maximal diameter = 0.3 cm for C. zetlandica), young individuals. For C. zetlandica, juveniles were sampled in September 2018 from an aquarium system (Bergen, Norway). C. zetlandica juveniles were smaller (and most likely younger) than the in situ sampled C. infrequens juveniles and therefore flash-frozen as a whole. Embryos of both sponge species were carefully picked out of the parent sponges with sterile spring steel forceps onboard the research vessel using a stereomicroscope. Ten whole embryos were pooled per adult sponge to account for the small biomass. Data such as presented here provide information on the recruitment of deep-sea sponge holobionts which is needed to develop integrated management tools of such vulnerable marine ecosystems

A speech understanding and dialog system with a homogeneous linguistic knowledge base
Mast M, Kummert F, Ehrlich U, et al. A speech understanding and dialog system with a homogeneous linguistic knowledge base. IEEE transactions on pattern analysis and machine intelligence. 1994;16(2):179-194.This article presents the speech understanding and dialog system EVAR. All levels of linguistic knowledge are used both to control the analysis process and for the interpretation of an utterance. All kinds of knowledge are integrated in a homogeneous knowledge base. The control algorithm used for the analysis is defined within the representation scheme and does not depend on the application. One of the aims of EVAR is to develop a system structure where linguistic and non-linguistic expectations could be used not only for the interpretation but also as predictions for the recognition process
