Hashish smoking and T-lymphocytes
To investigate the effect of long term hashish use on T-lymphocytes we have measured the incorporation of14C-thymidine by peripheral blood lymphocytes, unstimulated and stimulated by phytohemagglutinin, as well as the proportion and number of E-rosettes in 12 healthy male chronic users of the drug before and after a smoking session, and in 15 control subjects. The results show that hashish smoking does not impair the response of lymphocytes to PHA, at least at the concentration of PHA used. Furthermore there is a possibility that among chronic users a hashish smoking session may have a slight stimulatory effect. © 1978 Springer-Verlag
Acetylcholinesterase activity after hashish smoking
Recent evidence suggests that the psychoactive effects of Δ9THC might be directly related to cholinergic activity [1] One possible mechanism by which the main active constituent of hashish could have its effect is by affecting acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity [2, 3] On the contrary, Moss and his co-workers [4] suggest that according to their experiments on rats, there is no physiologically important interaction between AChE and Δ9-THC. Since these results show that the direct effect of A9-THC on AChE is to some extent contradictory, we tried to make some new observations on human volunteers and especially on heavy hashish smokers. © 1981 Informa UK Ltd All rights reserved: reproduction in whole or part not permitted
Simultaneous separation and identification of hashish constituents by coupled liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS)
This paper reports the use of liquid chromatography for the separation and determination of the major cannabinoids extracted from hashish samples. The direct coupling to the mass spectrometer enables the selective identification both of neutral and acidic cannabinoids. The developed method does not require any preliminary derivatization and should, therefore, be of interest in forensic analysis for simple and unequivocal determination of hashish constituents
Butterflyfishes (Chaetodontidae) from Abu Hashish fringing reefs, Port Sudan, Red Sea
Using Reef Check Programme butterflyfishes of Abu Hashish fringing reefs were recorded during 2003 and 2013. The results showed that the numbers of species declined from nine to seven. Chi square test revealed that the number of butterflyfishes significantly decreased (p<0.00001). This reduction was attributed to continuous construction and anthropogenic actives Keywords: Butterflyfishes, Abu Hashish, Port Suda

Identification in hashish of tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol and cannabinol analogues with a methyl side-chain
Abstract
The cannabis constituents Δ1-tetrahydrocannabinol, cannabidiol and cannabinol are accompanied by their homologues with an n-propyl and with a methyl side-chain. The identification procedure by combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry in hashish and marihuana is described and the consequences for cannabis use are discussed.</jats:p
