Research on Gramscian Hegemony in short stories "Finja'anu Qahwati Baridun (A Cup of Cold Coffee)" the work of Ihsan 'Abd al-Quddus aims to explain the ideological formation that operates in the short story "Finja'anu Qahwati Baridun (A Cup of Cold Coffee)" and how the practices of hegemony are carried out. This research is a qualitative description research. The data in this study are the text contained in the short story "Finja'anu Qahwati Baridun (A Cup of Cold Coffee)." The data source used in this study is the short story "Finja'anu Qahwati Baridun (A Cup of Cold Coffee) "The work of Ihsan 'Abd al-Quddus. Data collection in this study was carried out by reading, recording and processing research data. The results obtained from this study are idelological formations which operate in the short story "Finja'anu Qahwati Baridun (A Cup of Cold Coffee)" conducted by several figures, namely feudalism, socialism. Practices - Hegemony practices are divided into two groups, namely groups lay (who maintains power) and rebel groups (who fight for power). From the results of the analysis the author uses the theory of hegemony which was triggered by Gramsci. In this case it can be concluded that the practice of hegemony is inseparable from the counter hegemony. Ideology formation is needed to subvert the power and practices of the Hegemony carried out on two groups, namely the lay group / community and rebel groups

Abstract: The earth inhabited by human now is facing global environmental crisis. To respond to and tackle the crisis, a new awareness to explore the principles of religion has emerged today, which was then called ecotheology, an integral environmental insight based on ethical-theological as well as ethical-anthropological dimensions. This paper is aimed at, on the one hand, exposing principles of Islamic ecotheology that are able to be guiding principles in managing the nature, and on the other hand, comparing them with the principles of modern environmental ethics of the environmentalist/ eco-thinkers. The author argues that there are three principles of Islamic ecotheology that are relevant as the basis of ethical management of nature now days, namely the principle of taw╪id (unity of all creation), the principle of āmanah-khalīfah (trustworthiness-moral leadership), and ākhirah (responsibility).Abstrak: Bumi yang dihuni manusia sekarang ini tengah dilanda krisis lingkungan yang besifat global. </p

    Get PDF
This study aims to investigate the impact of innovation on firm efficiency. Panel data of fourteen finance companies and nine technology companies from 2011 to 2019 on the Vietnam Stock Exchange Market is derived from audited financial statements, annual reports, and other crucial reports that are provided by Vietstock; macroeconomic variables are collected from the World Bank Database. A two-stage approach is used. First, use of the Data Envelopment Analysis methodology to measure firm efficiency. Second, use of the Pooled ordinary least squares, the Fixed effects model, and the Random effects model to investigate the impact of innovation on firm efficiency. Furthermore, the Generalized Method of Moments and the Tobit model are used to validate the impact of innovation on firm efficiency, and the t-test is used to confirm the difference in efficiency with and without the impact of innovation between two industries. The results show that there is a significant impact of innovation on efficiency, and innovation plays a more important in increasing the efficiency of the finance industry than the technology industry. Moreover, the relation between age and efficiency is like the U-shaped, and between size and efficiency is like the inverted U-shaped, whereas efficiency is not associated with inflation. © Copyright: The Author(s) This is an Open Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly citedTomas Bata University in Zlin, The Czech Republic [IGA/FaME/2021/003]IGA/FaME/2021/003; Univerzita Tomáše Bati ve Zlín

Cash conversion cycle sensitivity by moderating role of exchange rates volatility on firm’s financial performance

    Get PDF
The cycle of cash conversion relates to the time spread between the value of cash paid for purchases and the cash receipt from turnover. Using the State Bank of Pakistan data, this study introduces the direct and moderating role of the exchange rate, effective through the efficient execution of the cash conversion cycle between Pakistani 302 manufacturing companies from 1999–2015. Using the fixed effect as the static panel model and system GMM as a dynamic panel, it is observed that the exchange rate plays an authoritative moderating role between the cash conversion cycle and the financial performance. Results of the investigation have shown that in static panel analysis with the cash conversion period, the exchange rate has a positive and substantial moderating effect on return on assets and return on equity whereas that ER has a major negative impact on return on assets and return on equity using dynamic panel data analysis GMM. The issue of endogeneity in the static panel is addressed using the advanced approach of the standard error of the panel correction standard error method that changed the position of the significance of the moderator variable. Observers, therefore, intend to evaluate the fluctuations in the exchange rate as one of the variables of the financial output moderator in the context of current metrics such as asset’s returns, equity’s returns and gain more practical expression within their investigated results. © 2021 The Author(s)

Application of zinc, boron, and molybdenum in soil increases lentil productivity, nutrient uptake, and apparent balance

In severely deficit soil, lentil (Lens culinaris Medic) crop requires micronutrients for increased production. Micronutrient management is, therefore, very important for lentil productivity but mostly ignored. This study was carried out from 2014–2015 to 2016–2017 to understand the effects of zinc (Zn), boron (B), and molybdenum (Mo) on lentil productivity, nodulation, and nutrient uptake and how these elements improve soil micronutrient fertility. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design, and the treatments were replicated thrice. Different combinations of Zn, Mo, and B were contrasted with no application of micronutrients. The treatments were Zn alone (Zn), B alone (B), Mo alone (Mo), Zn combined with B (ZnB), Zn with Mo (ZnMo), B with Mo (BMo), and Zn combined with B and Mo (ZnBMo). Doses of Zn, B, and Mo were 3, 2, and 1 kg ha−1, respectively. In this trial, the highest average seed yield (1807 kg ha−1) and yield increment (44%) was obtained in ZnBMo combined application with macronutrients. Single, dual, and combined application of Zn, B, and Mo had significant effects on yield parameters and yield of lentil (P < 0.05). The highest nutrient uptake, maximum nodulation (63.5 plant−1), and the highest protein content (26.6%) in seed were recorded from the treatment receiving all three micronutrients. The increased lentil yield might be associated with increased nodulation and nutrient uptake by the crop under micronutrient-applied treatments. The results suggest that combination of Zn, B, and Mo could be applied for increased lentil production in micronutrient deficit soils. The presentation of the authors' names and (or) special characters in the title of the pdf file of the accepted manuscript may differ slightly from what is displayed on the item page. ilustraciones, diagramasEn este trabajo se presenta una herramienta desarrollada con el objetivo de brindar soporte al diseño activo y pasivo de una construcción. This tool uses the thermal resistance and capacitance modeling methodology to estimate the thermal and energetic dynamics of a building. The support consists of providing suggestions to the professional designer mainly on the passive design of the construction. These suggestions are produced by solving a simulation-based multi-objective optimization problem, in which the initial investment cost of building materials, comfort, and energy consumption are optimized. The optimization method is developed by integrating the differential evolution algorithm programmed in Python with OpenModelica as the construction simulation software. This tool uses the Aixlib and Buildings libraries developed within the framework of the IEA EBC Annex 60 project in the Modelica language. This methodological tool is applied to the case study established in Section 5.2.1 of the ANSI/ASHRAE 140-2001 standard, Test Case 600. In the optimization method, orientation, inclusion or exclusion of sunblinds, the thermal properties of the building envelope and the size and thermal properties of the windows are taken as decision variables. As an objective function to optimize comfort, the PPD index developed by Fanger is used [19], to quantify energy consumption, annual cooling and heating loads are used, and to optimize the initial investment in the cost of materials, tables are presented with their estimated values. After using the tool in the case study, a saving of 72 % in the cooling load and 83 % in the heating load were obtained, with respect to the initial configuration, intervening only in the passive design of the construction.

(Texto tomado de la fuente)In this thesis, a decision-making system is proposed for the location, sizing and optimal dispatch of charging stations for the energy supply of a multimodal electric transport system, which positively impacts mobility, transport and the environment. The system is made up of hybrid motorcycles, electric boats and charging stations with photovoltaic energy generation, battery backup energy and connection to the electricity grid. The location and sizing of charging stations is based on mixed integer linear programming (MILP) that integrates investment, maintenance and non-supplied energy costs, demand profiles, energy prices, radiation and binary variables that describe the charging and discharging of the energy backup. In addition, for the development of the energy dispatch in the charging station, a discrete prediction model was used and it is solved by means of the quadratic programming (QP) method to maximize the benefit of the station operator of load. This implementation required urban mobility simulation software to validate the multimodal electric transport system. This software has the TraCI tool that allows connection with Python and has a wide variety of traffic networks from around the world. With this tool, 5 scenarios were simulated where advantages were obtained in favor of station users and considerable profits for charging station operators with errors regarding supply and demand of less than 1%. In addition, the optimal method proposed for the location and optimal sizing of stations establishes a number of 4 charging stations, each with 22 solar panels and 10 charging points. Likewise, for a scenario that includes connection to the electrical network, dimensions were found for 1 day of operation of 10000 W of network capacity.
