    Tawhid da'wah is the main mission of the Prophets and Apostles sent by Allah SWT. Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and Abul Hasan al-Asy'ari are influential figures in the hazanah of tauhid thinking. His thoughts spread throughout the world and many were followed by Muslims. This led to a number of differences in istinbath a problem and caused his followers to form a firqah that defended the founders of Manhaj. In this study wanted to find out how Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and Abul Hasan al-Asy'ari's views on asthma wa traits, and know how the impact of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab and Abul Hasan al-Asy'ari's thoughts on contemporary da'wah. This research is a library research study. From the results of the study it appears that Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab's view of asthma wa is the character of what Allah and His Messenger have set in the Qur'an and hadith. Asma wa traits are part of ushul iman, tauqifiyah cases, without takyif (asking how), tasybih (liking), takwil (changing meaning). Whereas Abul Hasan al-Asy'ari's view  is to believe in asthma wa traits in accordance with the Qur'an and sunnah with no resemblance to His creatures (tajsim/tasybih). Abul Hasan yang dihadiri secara antusias oleh banyak masyarakat Islam di sekitar Banjarbaru. Masalah yang diteliti adalah apa saja motivasi masyarakat mengikui pengajian agama yang diasuh oleh KH. Abul hasan di Kampung Batuah Banjarbaru, dan apa saja yang mempengaruhi motivasi masyarakat mengikui pengajian agama yang diasuh oleh KH. Abul hasan di Kampung Batuah Banjarbaru. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan (field research) yang bersifat studi sampling dengan menjadikan 10 orang masyarakat mengikui pengajian agama yang diasuh oleh KH. Abul Hasan di Kampung Batuah Banjarbaru. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dengan wawancara, dan observasi. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa motivasi masyarakat mengikuti pengajian agama yang Diasuh Oleh KH. Abul Hasan di Kampung Batuah Banjarbaru bervariasi. Dari laporan penelitian tersebut di atas, maka dapat dianalisis pada poin ini. Bahwa dari 10 orang responden dari berbagai kalangan dan jenis kelamin yang menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini, maka pada umumnya mereka termotivasi hadir di pengajian agama yang di asuh oleh KH. Abul Hasan, karena ingin menambah ilmu pengetahuan agama, meningkakan ilmu pengetahuan agama, tertarik dengan sosok guru pengajar dan juga metode yang digunakan, dan menjadikan pendidikan agama sebagai filter untuk mengaadpi tantangan zaman. Semua motivasi itu dapat ditkatagorikan motovasi yang positif, karena motivasi itu sesuai dengan ajaran Islam, bahwa puncak dari pendidikan Islam itu ialah untuk menjadikan anak didik menjadi orang yang bertaqwa, berilmu, beriman dan beramal shaleh. Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Motivasi Masyarakat Mengikuti Pengajian Agama yang diasuh oleh KH. Abul Hasan di Kampung Batuah Banjarbaru meliputi beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi, seperti faktor pendidikan, faktor guru dan metode yang digunakan, serta faktor lingkungan masyarakat adalah tepat.     Isolated Bangla handwritten character recognition with convolutional neural network

    The handwritten character recognition (HCR) problem has been studied extensively during the last few decades with varying level of success. Although one of the earliest optical character recognition work was done using an artificial neural network, due to low computational speed and other computational resource constraints, researchers had to move away to formulate the HCR problem of different languages (including Bangla) using the hand crafted features based classification methods. The recent progress of deep learning technologies and significant developments of parallel computing hardware have established a solid platform for the researchers in producing state-of-the-art reliable performance in many fields. Even though deep learning is proving its applicability in different computer vision problems since AlexNet was proposed in 2012, due to lack of significantly large Bangla handwritten character dataset, Bangla HCR could not progress far. Recently, a few initiatives have been taken to build large scale Bangla handwritten character datasets and made them available for public use. In this paper, we propose a modified ResNet-18 architecture (a convolutional neural network architecture) in recognizing Bangla handwritten characters. The proposed method is applied to two recently created isolated Bangla handwritten datasets. The used datasets are relatively large and practical to apply deep learning. Berdasarkan rumusan masalah tersebut maka penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa selama proses pembelajaran melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT. Adapun hipotesis tindakan yang dikemukakan dalam penelitian ini dirumuskan sebagai berikut : bahwa dengan diterapkankan pembelajaran melalui kegiatan diskusi kelompok melalui model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Head Together (NHT) ini dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran Matematika Kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Abul Hasan Durian Rabung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X pada Madrasah Aliyah Abul Hasan Durian Rabung Kecamatan Padang Batung kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan yang berjumlah 19 orang siswa pada tahun pelajaran 2010/2011. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menggali data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, catatan lapangan, tes, dan dokumentasi yang relevan sesuai dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT yang dilaksanakan. Tindakan yang dilaksanakan adalah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dalam pembelajaran matematika dalam rangka meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa kelas X pada Madrasah Aliyah Abul Hasan Durian Rabung Kecamatan Padang Batung Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Selatan. Dan hasil dari penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut kemudian ternyata dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dari yang semula skor aktivitas siswa rata-rata hanya berkategori rendah (skor 2) dapat meningkat menjadi berkategori tinggi (skor 4) dan hasil belajar siswa dari nilai rata-rata 6,4 pada siklus I naik menjadi 7,8 pada siklus II

    Abul A‘la Mawdudi’s concept of Hakimiyya and its critical assessment in Islamic legal-political thought

    The article analyzes the legal-political aspects of the concept of hakimiyya (“divine domination”) devised by the Indo-Pakistani theologian Abul A‘la Mawdudi (1903–1979). The author asserts that the doctrine of hakimiyya is based upon the recognition that Allah is the sole subject empowered to provide legislation to the Muslim community directly (the principle of “legal domination”) and indirectly (the principle of “political domination”).The doctrine of hakimiyya acquires its political shape as the Islamic state (caliphate), wherein the Islamic community is entrusted with a limited right to legislation by means of agency (wikala). Special emphasis is laid on examination into the critical appraisal of the hakimiyya doctrinals in the modern Islamic legal science. The article explores the objections raised against the hakimiyya theory by the Indo-Pakistani religious scholars, including Abul Hasan Nadwi and Wahid al-Din Khan, as well as by a number of modern Arabic legal theorists, such as Hasan al- Hudaybi, Muhammad ‘Imara, Muhammad Sayyid al-‘Ashmawi, Haydar Ibrahim ‘Ali a.o. The author concludes that the concept of hakimiyya underlies Mawdudi’s doctrine of the sources of law and serves as the basis for his theory of the Islamic state, as well as for his concept of the “renewal of faith” through Islamic revolution

    This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and was awarded by Brunel UniversityThe present dissertation provides an analytical and comparative study of the application of Islamic law (Shari’ah) and international human rights law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It provides an analysis of the sources of Islamic law as well as the sources of international law to set the background for analysis and defines the nature of both laws. It also tackles the subject of the domestic application of international human treaties in Saudi Arabia. In addition, it examines some reservations Saudi Arabia has entered to some of the international human rights treaties it has ratified, specifically the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). It also sheds some light on the political, cultural and religious obstacles to the realisation of norms protected by international human rights treaties in the country, and in other countries for that matter, clearly stating the impossibility of implementing the provisions of the international human rights treaties in their entirety. This is due to the various political and legal developments towards the internationalization of the concept of human rights. It observes that despite the existence of the international human rights treaties, which aim at reinforcing a universal realisation of international human rights, these rights cannot be possibly realised by all countries. To stress the importance Saudi Arabia attaches to the issue of human rights, the dissertation discusses some rights of women before Saudi courts in family matters, an issue which has been criticised by some international human rights treaties, and examines to what extent the country has managed to tackle the issue of domestic violence, particularly violence against women. It provides an overview of the major causes of domestic violence against women in Saudi Arabia, presents some cases of domestic violence before Saudi courts and sheds some light on the measures taken by the Saudi government to combat domestic violence against women. It also tackles this issue both in the international and domestic legal frameworks, clearly stating the Islamic standpoint on the issue, namely that Islamic law, and Saudi Arabia for that matter, whose laws are essentially derived from the two main sources of Shari’ah. It also discusses the common forms of violence against women in Saudi Arabia and suggests a number of recommendations towards more effective protection of women against violence in the country. The dissertation concludes by presenting a number of obstacles in the way of executing judicial decisions in the Kingdom as well as the obstacles which negatively affect the performance of the new code of law practice. It also presents some recommendations concerning personal status law obstacles and hindrances to progress and attempts to answer the research questions it has posed

    Post-Independent India is considered as an ethnically diverse multi-ethnic and multi-religious republic. Muslims as a minority are granted constitutional rights. However, the environment of the country was communalized against Muslims. Numerous Hindu-organizations disagree with Muslim minority rights especially their existence with different identity. They want to change the secular constitution of India and turn it to a Hindu state. Nevertheless, to eradicate and to put an end to this demand the contemporary Muslim scholars want to create an environment of mutual-relationship as an inevitable remedy for a peaceful co-existing between Muslims and Hindus. For this purpose, Muslims are asked to develop a healthy relationship with the people of other faiths; and they must contribute towards the development of the state; and they should convey the true message of Islam to them. This paper aims at shedding light on the role of Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi who recognized the pulse of the time and worked continuously through his writings and organizational activities for religious harmony. In this paper, our study covers Nadwi’s works and activities. Nadwi’s views for interreligious dialogues, communal harmony and Muslim identity will be explored and analysed. This study follows qualitative approach and depends on books, articles, online academic materials. The finding shows that Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi has enormously contributed to the development of Islamic thought in post-independent India. ********************************************************************************************************************* India era pasca kemerdekaan dianggap sebagai republik multi-etnik dengan kepelbagaian agama. Sebahagian besar organisasi-organisasi agama Hindu menolak hak-hak Muslim minoriti ini terutamanya daripada segi hak keberadaan mereka yang wujud dengan pelbagai identiti. Tujuan mereka adalah untuk menukar perlembagaan India yang bersifat sekular kepada bentuk negara Hindu secara totok. Demi membasmi dan menghentikan desakan golongan ini, cendekiawan-cendekiawan Islam masa kini merasakan perlunya membina kerjasama dua hala sebagai satu cara penyelesaian mutlak agar keamanan dalam hubungan saling hidup bersama dapat dicapai di antara penganut-penganut Islam dan Hindu. Bagi tujuan ini, penganut Islam disarankan agar membina hubungan yang sihat dengan penganut agama lain; menyumbang kepada kemajuan negara; dan menyampaikan risalah Islam sebenar kepada mereka. Artikel ini bertujuan memberi pencerahan tentang peranan berterusan yang dilakukan oleh Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi yang sedar akan keperluan ini dan melalui penulisan dan aktiviti-aktiviti organisasi, beliau berusaha memperjuangkan keharmonian beragama.     The erudite scholarship of Imam Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi Rahimahullah became world-renowned in his own lifetime, and unsurprisingly so - being one of the key scholars of the twentieth century who redrew the attention of the Ummah towards seeking Arabic literature from sources more Islamic than sufficing on the likes of poets such as Imru'ul-Qays which had dominated Arabic literature studies for centuries. Furthermore, these scholars also re-emphasised the fact that the Qur'aan Majeed and the Ahaadeeth of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) were both the fundamental and greatest sources of Arabic literature, and also provided the poetry of Hassan bin Thabit (Radhiyallahu Anhu) as evidence that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) himself promoted excellence in this field. Thus, in this paper we have mentioned some of the contributions of Imam Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi in the field of Arabic literature and more specifically Islamic Arabic literature; thereby attempting to prove that Imam Abul Hasan Rahimahullah was from the first people to recall towards Islamic Arabic literature, providing testimonies of leading scholars of the field to further cement this claim.https://khairulumma.com/index.php/about/article/view/4
