    Henry B. Hardt, Ph.D. served as the first TCOM associate dean and chief administrative officer. Hardt was a chemistry professor at the Texas Christian University and at the Jarvis College of East Texas. Hardt also held positions in the chemistry department of Texas Women's College, Columbia University, Westminster College, and Stephen F. Austin College. He was founding president of the Texas State Board of Examiners for the Basic Sciences and served twenty years on the board. Hardt was the president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association twice. He served for 5 years as the first Dean of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, from 1969 until his retirement in 1974.The Henry B.
