The third HANSA prototype, HANSA-3II (VT-XBL), received the provisional JAR-VLA certification from India's Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in December 1998. The first production version (VT-HNS) had its maiden flight on 14 May 1999. HANSA-3, with night flying capability and the lightning protection feature received its JAR-VLA certification from India's DGCA on 1 February 200

HANSA-3 aircraft series productionisation program - Damage repairs

    No full text
This report brings out the support services rendered by the FRP Division to the ongoing HANSA-3 Series productionisation programme. The sub-components for the aircraft are being fabricated elsewhere, while important activities such as curing, NDT and other relevant quality aspects are being monitored by the FRP division. This report highlights the support services provided prior to qualification for HANSA-3 aircraft code - S1. No 007

Post curing of Hansa-3 (VT- HNW) Components.

This report contains the details of post curing of Hansa-3 (VT- HNW) all composite airframe components providedbyC-CADD, carried out using an inhouse designed and fabricated large hot air oven (17mts x 2 .Omts x 2.Omts) . It details an optimum post cure cycle implemented, the temperature accuracy's, the various innovative approaches adapted to ensure the safety of the full scale components undergoing post cure in the oven . All the Hansa-3 (VT-HNW) airframe composite components post cured as per ;, the standard optimum post cure cycle and the oven temperature monitored throughout around ± 3°C to ensure uniform post curing of component

With reference to the above, after receiving composite components from C-CADD, NDT was carried out using the instrument (Woodpecker-632) on the composite parts of the Hansa Aircraft. NDT was carried out as per standard procedure (Ref : NAL PD RP 9901 available with CQCM Hansa-3 project)

Comparative Evaluation of different Resin Batches used in HANSA-3 (old Vs-New Batches)

    No full text
The properties of the resin system used as matrix for composites are important sin& the mechanical strength and fabrication processes of the components depend on these prdpenies. Hence it was considered essential to monitor the properties of the resins during their storage for a long period of time. A number of resin batches were earlier received in mid 1994 for use in HANSA - 3 component fabrication. Subsiquently a new batch of LY 5052 resin and the corresponding HY 5052 hardener were obtained through HAL, as a replacement stock in Feb 96 which had to be used to complete the fabrication of HANSA-3 components after the properties were monitored. As per the HANSA -3 cornittee advice a comparative evaluation of those two batches (old & new) of resins was made
