Metallic Fabry-Pérot Cavity-Enhanced "Pseudo-Charge Transfer" Absorption for Efficient Narrowband Short-Wave Infrared Photodetection
Narrowband short-wave infrared (SWIR) organic photodetectors, combining wavelength-specific detection with the inherent advantages of organic semiconductors, are important candidates for many applications like medical diagnostics, industrial sorting, and environmental monitoring. However, previously reported spectral-narrowing strategies often compromise device performance through structural complexity and intrinsic limitations of charge-transfer (CT) absorption, even when coupled with strong cavity device architectures. To address this, a pseudo-charge-transfer state is engineered by doping an ultra-narrow bandgap third component, simultaneously optimizing electrode processing to minimize parasitic absorption and interface energetic barriers. This co-design approach yields spectrally selective photodetectors with an EQE exceeding 40% at zero-bias at 1020 nm, a FWHM of 3 x 1013 Jones, and an over 140dB dynamic range, while maintaining flexibility. PET-based devices show <5% performance degradation after 3000 bending cycles. This work establishes a general design paradigm for organic narrowband photodetectors that combines laboratory-scale performance with practical manufacturability for wearable and large-area SWIR applications. This work was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (U21A20331and 22475225), the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Y60707WR46), and the European Research Council (ERC, grant agreement 864625). About the Data
Overview of Data
JaConTeBe is a benchmark suite for Java concurrency bugs. The initial version of JaConTeBe contains 47 confirmed, real-world concurrency bugs from 8. open-source projects. JaConTeBe is an ongoing work and the authors plan to collect more bugs in the future.
Paper Abstract
Researchers have proposed various approaches to detect concurrency bugs and improve multi-threaded programs, but performing evaluations of the effectiveness of these approaches still remains a substantial challenge. We survey the existing evaluations and find out that they often use code or bugs not representative of real world. To improve representativeness, we have prepared JaConTeBe, a benchmark suite of 47 confirmed concurrency bugs from 8 popular open-source projects, supplemented with test cases for reproducing buggy behaviors. Running three approaches on JaConTeBe shows that our benchmark suite confirms some limitations of the three approaches. We submitted JaConTeBe to the SIR repository (a software-artifact repository for rigorous controlled experiments), and it was included as a part of SIR
A gendered memory of pain: women's birthing body from the socialist past to globalizing China
With a feminist critical perspective, this paper examines ways labor pain management of childbirth in China from the early 50s’ to current period. Through the tragedy of laboring women, Ma Rongrong’s suicide in the hospital in 2017, I reviewed factors behind the inaccessibility of labor analgesia in China, early governmental attempts in relieving labor pain as a political statement following the Soviet Union, and how and why labor pain has always been put on a secondary place in the context of medicalized childbirth in China. I argue that the early attempts are results of political ideology’s practice and disputes rather than medical progress, and women’s reproductive body in labor became the embodied site. In addition, women’s reproductive bodies are now situated in between medical intervention, state’s population policy and other socio-cultural impacts, shaping women as subjects capable of giving birth but not subjective to pain. I also correlate the recent advancement of labor analgesia with the termination of the One-Child Policy, arguing that the recent governmental attempts to promote labor analgesia as a means to ensure their expectancy of two children per family. My discussion also includes contents analysis of media representations that speak and act out women’s memories and perceptions of labor pain. In addition, I will talk about governmental and non-governmental efforts in promoting labor pain management in recent China, and how do the need and market of labor analgesia influence the culture of childbirth.M.A.Includes bibliographical reference
GIS database for the Panjiayuan market
This research used Spatial-Temporal Behaviour Mapping (STBM) and field observation in the Paniayuan market in central Belling. Four different types of location in the market were monitored at four diferent times of day, with the vending and walking behaviours of different age groups and genders recorded and analysed.

“Zi yi” (“The black robes”): two versions of one text
The article analyze the Early Chinese text “Ziyi” (“The black robes”) and show the differences among two extant versions of this text, one the manuscript version of the Guodian (date the end of the Zhanguo period) and second received version in the canonical text of “Li ji” (“Records of rites”) (date the beginning of the Han dynasty). These differences will illustrate evolution of the Confucian’s study and Early Confucian’s philosophical thought
Evaluation and comparison of various deep neural networks for monocular depth estimation
In this final year project, several testing scenarios and related methodology have been designed to examine the performance of the cutting-edge neural networks for monocular depth estimation. Since neural networks for monocular depth estimation is a fast-developing and emerging research field in recent years, neural network design and techniques involved keep evolving. It is both reasonable and beneficial to perceive different novel network design and implement these networks personally. If all the parameters during testing meet the lowest expectations in relative real-life application scenarios, it can be expected that neural networks will replace the dedicated depth sensors and make a huge difference in high-tech fields like artificial intelligence and autonomous driving.Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Peer-to-peer energy trading: A novel market mechanism incorporating cooperative behaviours and electricity-heat coupling
With the penetration of distributed energy resources, peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading is becoming a promising way to harmonize the decarbonization and decentralization transformations in the energy sector. P2P markets give peers the autonomy to make individual decisions and cooperative behaviors between the peers may emerge. However, existing studies on cooperative behaviors in P2P markets focus mostly on the electricity sector, P2P multi-energy markets are rarely studied. In fact, other energy carriers not only constitute a large part of the total energy demand, but their coupling can potentially benefit the system as well as the end-users. In this paper, we propose a P2P multi-energy market mechanism that allows peers to trade both electricity and heat, where the peers can join two predefined trading coalitions. The proposed system model thus explores the integrated effects of the multi-energy coupling and the cooperative behaviors in the P2P market. In order to maximize the net benefits of the peers, price conditions are derived, based on which the peers will join either of the coalitions and determine their trading volumes. Then, the electricity and the heat markets are cleared separately by a market operator. Lastly, the market mechanism is illustrated by a case study on a neighborhood in the Netherlands using realistic data.Complex Systems Engineering and Management (CoSEM
Music·Wave: Companion Product for Orthopedic Surgery Patients with AI -Generated Music
Orthopedic surgeries are identified as one of the most noisy surgeries inside the OR (operation room). The highest noise sound level could reach up to around 130 dB, which is harmful to patients’ well-being and are likely to evoke negative feelings during surgery. In the previous study investigating the emotional experience of patients who receive spinal or general anesthesia in orthopedic surgeries, results showed that different kinds of sounds inside the OR could lead to fluctuating emotions for patients, such as nervousness, curiosity, and relaxation. Therefore, this project is mainly focusing on this user group and aims to improve their experience, especially regarding sounds inside the OR.The research phase of the report includes two parts. The research in LUMC mapped out the patient journey, for instance, when, and how the design should intervene. Questionnaires for surgeons provided strong support for the rationale and effectiveness of musical interventions in this design project. Later on, the second part of the research, the one on AI music alignment proved that to some extent, AI generative model could understand the textual input with emotional descriptors, and output desired emotionally effective music that could influence the listeners’ perception. With this in mind, the design could refer to the circumplex model that Hevner and Schubert developed on music emotions to position the descriptors of specific musical emotions in two dimensions and achieve control of musical emotions in spatial terms. The design concept mainly has two phases, the preference input phase, which allows patients to choose their favorite prompt list for the AI model to generate later on adding the emotional descriptors together as prompts; the music experience phase on the other hand, mainly happens during surgery when inside the OR, patients will be able to freely explore the music emotion variations during surgery with their favorite music styles (prompts). The design goal for the project would be to design a music companion product for orthopedic surgery patients who are undergoing spinal anesthesia. The product interaction aims to improve their emotional experience during the surgery period. The interaction should be distracting, desirable, and immersive for patients. Once the general direction of the design concept is determined, the iteration phase began. The prompt input part is based on the brainstorming session and the co-creation session to develop an ideal interface for the experience. While for the music experience part, one of the three interaction ways will be chosen through the concept testing and evaluation procedure. The chosen concept will be further developed into the final concept - Music · Wave.In the future, I imagine that the OR would be an immersive sensing space for the patients as well, so adding visuals into the whole design would be another vision, that maybe will be further designed in later projects. This project, however, would only give a rough glance into what the whole experience could be like in the future, and how the surgery soundscape could be reframed.Design for Interactio
