Hammond as law librarian at Villanova and Cornell and her service with key national professional bodies. Jane Hammond is Professor Emerita at Cornell Law. With extensive experience in the libraries of Harvard Law School, Drexel University, and Villanova University School of Law, Professor Hammond served as the Edward Cornell Law Librarian for seventeen years until her retirement in 1993. Her education includes a B.A. from University of Dubuque, an M.L.S. from Columbia University School of Library Science, and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. During her tenure at Cornell Law, Professor Hammond fundamentally changed and modernized library operations, and from 1985-1987 worked as Acting Director of the Cornell University Libraries Computerized Library Information Project. Among her many contributions to librarianship was a trip to Liberia in 1989 to organize their National Law Library
