    No full text
The study comprised 200 teaching faculty students. It was expected from the students to depict a moment from the future family lives that they expect to have. After the pictures had been drawn, a half-structured group interview was performed with the students about their pictures. The content analysis of the pictures was inspected by 1 pediatric development expert, 1 psychologist and 1 psychological consultant in 5 different sub-contexts and reviewed against the answers given by the students. According to the findings of the study, while female students drew pictures depicting them spending time with their partners and children, male students tended to draw pictures in which they are spending time more individually (e.g., watching TV, soccer matches, etc.). Another finding of the study is that every student wants a family life except 2. Nearly everybody wants a child, but there can be differences concerning the number of children they want. One of the most important results of the study is that, while there are traditional attitudes about families, there can also be differences in modern attitudes

Early childhood mathematics education takes attention for decades. The effect of qualified mathematics education during early years has an impact on children’s future academic success. Main purposes of the present study are twofold; to examine children’s current 3D geometry thinking skills and to investigate the development of children’s 3D geometry thinking skills after a 3D training program developed by researchers and named as 3D in Early Childhood (3DinEC). A qualitative study with conveniently sampled preschool students was done. The age range of participant children varied from 60 months to 72 months; three girls and four boys. A semi-structured interview form, which included six abilities Pittalis and Christou (2010) determined, has totally 15 questions. Descriptive and content analysis methods were used. Findings of the present study indicated that participant children had a limited understanding regarding 3D geometric thinking. However, some of these thinking skills like identification of 3D geometric shapes and recognition of these shapes’ properties, etc. could be enhanced through various activities

WOS: 000440294300011This study was conducted to examine the planning and implementation status of mathematics education in the program by teachers working in pre-school institutions. The target population of the research was composed of teachers who worked in pre-school education institutions in Turkey. A total of 165 randomly selected teachers were included in the sample group within the accessible population. A descriptive survey model was used in the study."General Information Form" for collecting general information about teachers and "Mathematics Education Assessment Teacher Form in Pre-School Program" which was originally developed by Clements and Sarama (2000/2014) as part of the Building Blocks project in the United States were used after validity issues are provided. In the analysis of the data gathered in accordance with the research purpose; frequency and percentage distributions were used and the research findings were also discussed in relation to the current literature

The aim of the study is to analyze attitudes of preschool teacher candidates towards use of computer assisted education in terms of several variables. "The Attitude Scale Towards Use of Computer Assisted Education" developed by Arslan (2006), has been used as a data collection instrument. The subjects of the research are 131 preschool teacher candidates studying at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University in 2012-2013. The samples of the research are 131 randomly selected students. The statistical methods of frequency, percentage, standard deviation, t-test, one way variance analysis (ANOVA), and the Tukey test have been used in the data analysis section. As a result of the research, it has been determined that preschool teacher candidates' attitudes towards use of computer assisted education not different variable between gender, grade level, have own computer, have computer lesson before but between the frequency of using computer and attitudes towards use of computer assisted education is differences
