OPEN BOUNDARY EDDY-CURRENT PROBLEMS USING EDGE ELEMENTS
The characteristic impedance boundary condition (CIBC) has been used with finite element formulations to solve open boundary problems. At low frequencies the magnetic and electric fields are uncoupled and the CIBC is not applicable. This paper presents an alternate boundary condition which is based on the Biot-Savart Law and offers a magnetic field intensity, edge-based finite element formulation with this boundary condition and the surface impedance boundary condition
