Chao Yuen Ren (1892–1982)
Y. R. Chao is easily the most famous linguist to have come out of China. Born before the end of the last dynasty in China, he received a traditional Confucian education, but was also one of the first Chinese people to be sent to the West for training in modern Western science (under the Boxer Indemnity Fund). The remarkable breadth and scope of his studies included physics, mathematics, linguistics, musical and literary composition, and translation, and he was a pioneer in many of these fields

The behaviour of small investors in the Hong Kong derivatives markets: A factor analysis
This paper investigates the behaviour of small investors in Hong Kong's derivatives markets. The study period covers the global economic crisis of 2011- 2012, and we focus on small investors' behaviour during and after the crisis. We attempt to identify and analyse the key factors that capture their behaviour in derivatives markets in Hong Kong. The data were collected from 524 respondents via a questionnaire survey. Exploratory factor analysis was employed to analyse the data, and some interesting findings were obtained. Our study enhances our understanding of behavioural finance in the setting of an Asian financial centre, namely Hong Kong
(Hierarchical Identity-Based) Threshold Ring Signatures
We construct the first several efficient threshold ring signatures (TRS) without random oracles. Specializing to a threshold of one, they are the first several efficient ring signatures without random oracles after the only earlier instantiation of Chow, Liu, Wei, and Yuen. Further specializing to a ring of just one user, they are the short (ordinary) signatures without random oracles summarized in Wei and Yuen.
We also construct the first hierarchical identity-based threshold ring signature without random oracles. The signature size is bits, where is the security parameter and is the number of users in the ring. Specializing to a threshold of one, it is the first hierarchical identity-based ring signature without random oracles. Further specializing to a ring of one user, it is the constant-size hierarchical identity-based signature (HIBS) without random oracles in Yuen-Wei - the signature size is bits which is independent of the number of levels in the hierarchy
