Vaclav Havel: freedom, truht and responsibility
Bakalaura darbā „Vāclavs Havels – brīvība, patiesība un atbildība” tiek izskatīta un aprakstīta Vāclava Havela, filozofa, politiķa, „dzīve patiesībā” ideja, tās nosacījumi un aizsākumi čehu domas vēsturē. Darba mērķis ir iepazīt čehu domātāju J. Husa, J. Patočkas, T. G. Masarika patiesības idejas konceptu, izprast to ietekmi un devumu Havela patiesības un atbildības uzskatu kontekstā, izskatīt „dzīvot patiesībā” pragmatisko pielietojumu Havela politikā.
Bakalaura darbā secināts, ka Vāclava Havela patiesības ideja ir konstruēta no tā priekšgājēju idejām, tālāk attīstot un modificējot, izveidota indivīda fundamentālās dzīves nepieciešamības apraksts - „dzīve patiesībā”, kas nodrošināta cilvēkam, uzņemoties iniciatīvu un atbildību pār savu un citu dzīvēm.
-In the Bachelor paper “Vaclav Havel – freedom, truth and responsibility” the idea of “live in truth”, developed by the philosopher and politician Vaclav Havel, is laid out and described together with its conditions and historical background in Czech history of thought. The purpose of this paper is to explore Czech thinkers (J. Huss, J. Patocka, T. G. Masarik) concept of truth and to acknowledge its contribution and impact on Havel`s notion of truth and responsibility as well as to review the “live in truth” pragmatic usage in Vaclav Havel`s political actions.
It has been concluded that, developing and modifying Havel’s predecessors` thoughts, Havel has made his own concept of fundamental life conditions, where “life in truth” ensures that people take responsibility for their own life and for those of others

Management and acting "beyond the call of duty"
This paper uses a real-life case taken from political history and recounted by Vaclav Havel, President of the Czech Republic. Three times in this country's history, its leaders opted for a "more realistic" solution (giving way when faced with a serious problem: invasion or insurrection) in preference to a "more ethical" solution (resisting, knowing the high cost in human lives this would entail). In this paper we analyze the relationship between heroism (adopting a "more ethical" solution), management, and leadership. Particular emphasis is placed on the morality of the "more ethical" decision, the obligation or lack of it to put that decision into practice, and the relationship between a "more ethical" form of conduct and leadership in the firm.Consequence; courage; decision; ethics; heroism
