Simulating nondiffusive dynamics in reaction-diffusion systems
Reaction-diffusion systems are a class of mathematical models with broad applications
across physics, chemistry and biology. While very versatile, a limitation of
these systems is that they assume diffusion as the only means of motion. To allow
for broader application, especially in the realm of condensed matter physics, there
is a need to take into account other transport processes. This thesis aims to implement
an existing Monte Carlo algorithm for efficient simulation of single-species
reaction-diffusion systems on a lattice, and subsequently extend it to also handle
nondiffusive dynamics. The considered nondiffusive model is a simple toy model of
correlated motion that preserves center of mass, and the nondiffusive nature of this
kinetic model is both justified theoretically and demonstrated by simulation. It is
then used in conjunction with single-species annihilation with the goal of finding
how the particle density scales over time with such dynamics.
The implementation of the base algorithm shows behavior consistent with theory
and previous computational results. In order to show the nondiffusivity of the correlated
motion model, the time evolution of the mean squared displacement is examined
and it is found to be subdiffusive and slightly slower than expected. Whether
this slower evolution is due to limitations in the theory or the computational model
is unknown. When simulating two-particle single species annihilation, the particle
density is observed to quickly reach the same steady state of 2/11 inverse length
units independent of parameter settings, and no apparent power laws are found in
the approach to this steady state. What these results suggest is that there exist
certain invariant configurations of the lattice in which no more reactions can occur.
This leaves open the opportunity for more reasearch into the equilibrium states of
various system geometries and types of reaction

Delaktighet - på vems villkor? En studie om medarbetares syn på delaktighet samt hur den påverkas av ledarskap.
Abstract Author: Elisabet Loverde och Arbresha Rushiti Title: Participation – on who’s terms? A study of personnel participation and how it is affected by leadership. [translated title] Supervisor: Mikael Sandgren Assessor: Weddig Runquist The aim of our study was to clarifying the possibilities for personnel participation through the experiences of the staff itself. Our study took place in Miner Municipality where a new work method was recently implemented. It also investigates the connection between personnel participation and the present leadership. We have divided the term participation into two parts to further be able to see the differences within the concept of participation. The two parts we have used are participation as influence and participation as responsibility. The personnel have been given the opportunity to express their own experiences of the implementation process. Our data is based on six semi-structured interviews, both with personnel and leaders within the studied organization. The form of leadership present has varied over time and during a period the organization was without a present leader. The results show that leadership plays an important role for the possibility of personnel participation. Not only the possibility but also the way in which the personnel is able to participate. When the leadership is lacking the personnel is forced to take on a bigger responsibility, whether they want it or not. On the other hand when the leadership is adequate the personnel can choose the level of participation they are comfortable with and also express a wish for more or less responsibility
"Det blir lite dubbelt, frivilligt men ändå inte frivilligt" : En kvalitativ studie om socialsekreterares syn på stöd, kontroll/tvång och repression inom ekonomiskt bistånd och missbrukarvård.
ABSTRACT Author: Emelie Olsson Title: "It gets a bit twice, voluntarily and yet not voluntarily"- Social workers approach to support, control / coercion and repression in financial assistance and substance abuse Supervisor: Weddig Runquist Assessor: Mats Hilte The purpose of this study has been to examine and analyze the exercise of authority social workers in the social services for substance abusers and financial assistance considers measures of support and control / coercion against the client, and how they, in their own balance these measures in client work. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with four social workers, two from financial assistance and two from substance abuser in a small town and a middle town in south of Sweden. The theoretical approach being used is: accounts, perspective of power and repressive power and extreme case formulations. The study´s result shows that social workers in the social services for substance abusers only work with control when it´s not a question about voluntary treatment. They also agreed about that coercive actions means an LVM situation. Social workers working with financial assistance are aware that their work includes control but do not see that there are any coercive actions in their work with the clients

Overview of the RF Synchronization System for the European XFEL
One of the most important requirements for the European XFEL RF system is to assure a very precise RF field stability within the accelerating cavities. The required amplitude and phase stability equals respectively dA/A <3·10-5, dphi<0.01 deg @ 1.3GHz in the injector and dA/A<10-3, dphi <0.1 deg @1.3GHz in the main LINAC section. Fulfilling such requirements for the 3.4 km long facility is a very challenging task. Thousands of electronic and RF devices must be precisely phase synchronized by means of harmonic RF signals. We describe the proposed architecture of the RF Master Oscillator and the Phase Reference Distribution System designed to assure high precision and reliability. A system of RF cable based interferometers supported by femtosecond-stable optical links will be used to distribute RF reference signals with required short and long term phase stability. We also present test results of prototype devices performed to validate our concept
