    Oral history; interview with Mr. James H. Simpson, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Economics, May 2, 2012, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University. Mr. Simpson was born in 1931 in Caledonia, Mississippi. He first came to Mississippi State as a student in 1949, and continued his scholarly endeavors here, receiving a Bachelor\u27s degree in 1953. Simpson completed his Master\u27s degree at Virginia Tech. He also completed coursework toward a PhD at Oklahoma State. He is a Korean War Veteran. He began working at MSU in 1958, and held the positions of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor, and Interim Department Head, all within the Department of Agricultural Economics. Simpson retired from MSU in 1988. In this interview, Simpson discusses working with MSU and Farm Bureau concerning farm land taxation, developing production crop budgets for the Delta, and working with the faculty and staff who made Lloyd-Ricks a special place to be
