    The article reviews the epigraphic evidence for the presence of citizens of Laodikeia on the Lykos in Rome, trying to highlight their social status and, if possible, the reasons for their presence in the political centre of the empire. Meaningful is the presence of people of ancient Roman-Italic origin settled in Asia Minor who arrived in Rome displaying their eastern identity, but in several cases also Roman citizenship
