    Noworodek z trzepotaniem przedsionków

    No full text
W przebie‑ gu arytmii obserwowano upośledzenie przewodzenia przedsionkowo-komorowego, skutkujące zwolnieniem rytmu komór i objawami niewydolności serca. W okresie noworodkowym czterokrotnie nawróciło trzepotanie przedsion‑ ków – dziecko trzykrotnie wymagało kardiowersji elektrycznej. W profilaktyce arytmii zastosowano trzylekową far‑ makoterapię

Verification of Nonblockingness in Bounded Petri Nets With a Semi-Structural Approach

    No full text
In this paper, we propose a basis marking method- based semi-structural approach to verify nonblockingness of a Petri net. By solving a set of integer linear programming problems, the unobstructiveness of a basis reachability graph, which is a necessary condition for nonblockingness, is determined. We propose an algorithm to expand the basis reachability graph and show that a bounded Petri net is nonblocking if and only if its expanded basis reachability graph is unobstructed. The main advantages of this method are that it does not require to enumerate all the reachable markings and has wide applicability

Non-Blockingness Verification of Bounded Petri Nets Using Basis Reachability Graphs

    No full text
In this letter, we study the problem of non-blockingness verification by tapping into the basis reachability graph (BRG). Non-blockingness is a property that ensures that all pre-specified tasks can be completed, which is a mandatory requirement during the system design stage. We develop a condition of transition partition of a given net such that the corresponding conflict-increase BRG contains sufficient information on verifying non-blockingness of its corresponding Petri net. Thanks to the compactness of the BRG, our approach possesses practical efficiency since the exhaustive enumeration of the state space can be avoided. In particular, our method does not require that the net is deadlock-free

Gu Kuang and his nature lyrics

The Benefits of Being Economics Professor A (and not Z)

Alphabetic name ordering on multi-authored academic papers, which is the convention in the economics discipline and various other disciplines, is to the advantage of people whose last name initials are placed early in the alphabet. As it turns out, Professor A, who has been a first author more often than Professor Z, will have published more articles and experienced afaster growth rate over the course of her career as a result of reputation and visibility. Moreover, authors know that name ordering matters and indeed take ordering seriously: Several characteristics of an author group composition determine the decision to deviate from the default alphabetic name order to a significant extent.performance measurement, incentives, economists, name ordering

Analysis of Behavioural Properties of Bounded Petri Nets With a Semi-Structural Approach

    No full text
In this paper, we propose a semi-structural approach to verify some behavioural properties of bounded Petri nets, including home state existence, reversibility, liveness, and deadlock-freeness. An abstracted representation of the state space of Petri nets, called minimax basis reachability graph (minimax-BRG), is employed. We show how the verification of the above-mentioned properties for a bounded Petri net can be carried out testing equivalent properties of its corresponding minimax-BRG. Being the minimax-BRGs an abstracted representation of the reachability graph, the exhaustive enumeration of the state space can be avoided and we show, via numerical simulations, that this approach achieves significant practical efficiency

In this article, William Z. Shetter compares and contrasts the dialects that developed between different Dutch colonies in the New World. He explores in-depth the nuances of Jersey Dutch, and provides theories to explain how Dutch and colonial languages blended. The article is reprinted from American Speech, December 1958, Volum XXXIII, No. 4

    On Z-compactifiability of manifolds

In 1976, Chapman and Siebenmann \cite{CS76} established necessary and sufficient conditions for Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifying Hilbert cube manifolds. While these conditions are known to be necessary for a manifold MnM^n to admit a Z\mathcal{Z}-compactification, it remains an open question whether these conditions are also sufficient. Guilbault and the author \cite[Thm. 1.2]{GG20} proved that these conditions are sufficient for the product Mn×[2,2]M^n \times [-2,2] (n5)(n\geq 5) to be Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifiable. We further explore this topic by introducing additional conditions such that a Z\mathcal{Z}-compactification of Mn×[2,2]M^n \times [-2,2] indeed implies a Z\mathcal{Z}-compactification of MnM^n, thus partially resolving the open question. As applications, it is shown that there exist infinitely many non-pseudo-collarable 4-manifolds which are Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifiable; however, pseudo-collarable manifolds with compact boundary of dimension at least six are Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifiable. Furthermore, we investigate the connection between Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifiability with the topological rigidity of aspherical manifolds. We also construct a noncompact one-sided ss-cobordism (W,V,V)(W,V,V^{\ast}) satisfying controlled Mather-Thurston theorems, where VV is Z\mathcal{Z}-compactifiable, whereas VV^{\ast} may not be.Comment: 36 pages, 12 figures. The new mineral tennantite-(Ni), Cu6(Cu4Ni2)As4S13, has been discovered from the Luobusa Chromitite, Tibet, southwestern China. Tennantite-(Ni) occurs as anhedral grains ranging from 2 to 20 m in size. In reflected light microscopy, tennantite-(Ni) is isotropic and appears yellow-greenish grey. Reflectance data for Commission on Ore Mineralogy wavelengths in air for tennantite-(Ni) are: 31.0 (470 nm), 29.6 (546 nm), 29.6 (589 nm) and 29.3 (650 nm). Electron microprobe analysis for holotype material gave the empirical formula (on basis of total cations = 16 apfu): M(2)Cu6 M(1)[Cu4.00(Ni0.97Cu0.53Fe0.50)Σ2.00]Σ6.00X(3)(As2.94Sb1.06)Σ4S12.77. Tennantite-(Ni) is cubic, with space group I3m (#217), a =10.2957(9) Å, V = 1091.4(3) Å3 and Z = 2. By using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, the crystal structure has been determined and refined to a final R1 = 0.0423 on the basis of 163 independent reflections [Fo > 4σ (Fo)]. The calculated seven strongest powder X-ray diffraction lines [d in Å (I..
