W labiryncie Lema i Skarżyńskiego. O polskiej odmianie neurogunk
The article discusses the neurological inspirations of Stanislaw Lem. Starting from the reconstruction of writing inspirations related to the science of the brain (Mieczyslaw Choynowski, Hoagland Hudson), the author sets in this context the story Rat in a maze, analyzing it in connection with plastic transposition of Jerzy Skarzynski. In transdisciplinary space of the work she distinguishes three types of labyrinth: laboratory, time and light, recognizing the third variant as a metaphor for the mind. The analysis is completed by an indication of further neurological clues (Solaris, philosophical writings and essays), which leads the author to reconstruction of the mind concept in Lem’s works while relating it to the views of modern philosophers of mind, such as John Carew Eccles, Nicholas Humphrey
Ogniwo Artura Marii Swinarskiego w serii translatorskiej utworów Johanna Wolfganga Goethego
Based on the findings of translation experts on the translation series, the author focuses on Polish-German tropes in the works of A.M. Swinarski, carrying out a detailed analysis of selected translations of Goethe’s poems. A comparison of translations by Swinarski, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Stefan Zarębski, Feliks Konopka and Andrzej Lam reveals changes in the sphere of meanings designed in the original and reflects on the principles of literality and interpretation in translation practice.Based on the findings of translation experts on the translation series, the author focuses on Polish-German tropes in the works of A.M. Wektor poetycki w biografiach artystów: Olga Boznańska, Wojciech Weiss, Jerzy Tchórzewski
Starting from the contemporary trends in biography and referring to findings in the field of anthropology of writing and new materialism, the author analyzes poetic forms created in painting studios. She considers the works of O. Boznańska, W. Weiss and T. Tchórzewski as poetic manifestations of the literary practice of everyday life, a type of poeticised documents. The presence of poetry in artists’ lives is multi-faceted: loose pages preserved in a scrapbook, entries in a journal and autonomous works printed in the press, hence their role in creative biography is different. The common ground is a syncretic perception of creativity; the preserved texts co-create a kind of artistic site where the boundaries between the publication, the exhibition and the project performance blur, requiring special editing operations.Starting from the contemporary trends in biography and referring to findings in the field of anthropology of writing and new materialism, the author analyzes poetic forms created in painting studios. Aposiopesis albo figury myśli w dobie ucieleśnionego umysłu
The Author is interested in the states of becoming silent, discontinuing one’s utterance, which are associated with certain mechanisms of the functioning of the brain, as well as in the observation of such states in different artistic disciplines. Looking for an answer to the question how aposiopesis operates in words, sounds, and images, she analyzes pieces of music, poems (Zbigniew Herbert’s Pora), and examples of visual arts (Wojciech Pakmur’s paintings of the tango). In her reconstruction of the research field, the Author refers to rhetoric ( Jerzy Ziomek, Seweryna Wysłouch), the philosophy of language (Michel Foucault, Jean-François Lyotard), and neurophenomenology. The aim of the article is to suggest a new mode of reading that seeks inspiration and language in works from the field of neuropsychology (Maria Pąchalska), hermeneutic phenomenology (Mark Johnson), or neurology (António Damásio, Oliver Sacks). The Author’s analyses refer to Raoul Schrott and Arthur Jacobs’s concept (Gehirn und Gedicht, 2011), and the conclusions confirm that one should not look for a model (pattern) in the reception of art, but describe mental processes. The proposed mechanism of interpretation is most accurately reflected by the metaphor of dance improvisation, where one does not meditate on and then perform particular steps and gestures, but “thinks in motion.” This mode of reading emphasizes the spatial dimension of thought processes and their dynamic nature. The Author is interested in the states of becoming silent, discontinuing one’s utterance, which are associated with certain mechanisms of the functioning of the brain, as well as in the observation of such states in different artistic disciplines. Obraz w powieści, powieść o obrazie… maniera ekfrastyczna w dawnej i współczesnej prozie
Numer wydany w 2017 r.The article discusses the functioning of visual works of art in
novels. The author undertakes to reconstruct the stream of such
references, analyzing the works of Theodor Fontane, Stefan Żeromski,
Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Gert Hoffman, or
Jack Dehmel. She also notices a rule consisting in obtaining autonomy
through painting, which means also a change in the genre. The research
indicates that former open references to paintings are changing,
overtaking the role of the novels’ replicas, locating themselves in the
zone of contemporary multiplication
Potworowski i Poe zanurzeni w świecie umysłu
Searching for the sources of Tadeusz Piotr Potworowski’s artistic manner, and starting from the findings on the understanding of the grotesque and types of illustration, the author examines from this angle the graphic works from Potworowski’s portfolio of eight lithographs dedicated to Edgar Allan Poe (1934). Comparative analysis of the graphic works and their primary texts brings conclusions about intersemiotic poetics and the painter’s interest in the mind, its disorders and properties. It reveals Potworowski’s sensitivity to the word and confirms that familiarization with the American novelist’s short stories and the dedication of a series of his prints to them influenced the mental basis of Potworowski’s later achievements, and helped him shape his views on art and the mind. A reflection on the painter’s stories from the 1950s, conducted in terms of their relationship to artistic strategy, is left for further research
Myślenie w systemie poznawczym i w świecie wartości. O powinnościach dydaktyki w dobie neuronauki
Starting from the contemporary determinants of changes in the field of mental operations, such as the transcultural nature of the world and neuroscientific concepts of mind (Francisco Varela, Daniel C. Dennett, Gilles Fauconnier, Mark Turner), the author shapes the foundations of mental didactics, recreates clues related to cognitive mechanisms in Polish language didactics (Maria Nagajowa, constructivism, new media), and continues to present such fields of teaching activity sensitive to shaping thinking as: interpretation, rhetoric, discursive manners and perceptual exercises, leading to the exposure of qualia. “Mental didactics” proposed in the article means integrated training of thinking, perception, attention and value system.Wychodząc od współczesnych determinantów zmian w zakresie operacji myślowych, takich jak transkulturowy charakter świata i neuronaukowe koncepcje umysłu (Francisco Varela, Daniel C. Dennett, Gilles Fauconnier, Mark Turner), autorka kształtuje podstawy dydaktyki mentalnej, odtwarza tropy związane z mechanizmami poznawczymi w dydaktyce polonistycznej (Maria Nagajowa, konstruktywizm, nowe media) oraz wskazuje takie pola aktywności nauczycielskiej wrażliwe na kształtowanie myślenia, jak: interpretacja, retoryka, kultura dyskusji i ćwiczenia percepcyjne, prowadzące do odsłonięcia qualiów. Zaproponowana w artykule „dydaktyka mentalna” oznacza zintegrowane kształcenie myślenia, percepcji, uwagi i systemu wartości
Intersemiotic translation in Polish language education
Wydział Filologii Polskiej i KlasycznejDo wyboru tematu rozprawy skłoniły doświadczenia wyniesione z pracy nauczycielskiej. W pracy doktorskiej rozpatruję zagadnienie przekładu intersemiotycznego z trzech różnych perspektyw: teoretycznoliterackiej, edytorskiej i dydaktycznej. Główny cel rozprawy to szczegółowe oświetlenie metody „przekładu intersemiotycznego”, odtworzenie recepcji tego pojęcia w humanistyce. Innym ważnym celem jest konfrontacja teorii naukowej z praktyką szkolną, czemu służą analizy materiałów dydaktycznych i badania empiryczne wśród uczniów i studentów. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu Badania objęły operacje w sferze znaczeń (konotacji), doznania wielozmysłowe (odwołanie do semiotyki sensorycznej) i sferę emocji (antropologia kulturowa). The subject of the dissertation was selected under the influence of my teaching experience. In my dissertation, I perceive intersemiotic translation in three different ways: theoretical, literary, and didactic. The main objective of the dissertation is a detailed presentation of the "intersemiotic translation" method, the reconstruction of the reception of this concept in the humanities. Another important goal is the confrontation of scientific theory with school practice by means of an analysis of didactic materials and empirical research among pupils and students. In the first chapter, I examine the perception of "intersemiotic translation" in literary studies and works on art. I am particularly interested in the reception of the concept in the field of Polish didactics, its place in the studies. The analyses show that intersemiotic translation opens up various types of literary and artistic combinations, such as an illustration as an editorial supplement, author's illustration, poster, and ekphrasis. Next, I present intersemiotic translation from a school and editorial perspective. In the same chapter I provide and discuss examples of "good practices" in the field of intersemioticity, using the didactic studies. The fourth chapter is a description of empirical research conducted in the years 2015-2017 at the Niepubliczne Gimnazjum dla Młodzieży in Lubsko and at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The research included operations in the sphere of meaning (connotation), multi-sensory experience (reference to sensory semiotics) and the sphere of emotions (cultural anthropology)
Wiedza o umyśle w dydaktyce polonistycznej. O potrzebie nowej integracji
Starting from the discoveries of social neuroscience and the principles of Polish language teaching, the author constructs the foundations of the programme for educating the pupil’s mind, outlining its main elements (self-knowledge, thinking styles, therapy) and a number of specific issues. Then, looking for opportunities for integrated education, she relates all these issues to educational documents and selected curricula for primary schools in the subjects of Polish language, biology, and ethics. The article ends with conclusions regarding the scope of cross-curricular integration, and determinants of the future curriculum.Wychodząc od odkryć neuronauki społecznej i zasad dydaktyki polonistycznej, autorka konstruuje podstawy programu kształcenia umysłu ucznia, wytyczając jego główne ogniwa (samowiedza, style myślenia, terapia) i szereg zagadnień szczegółowych. Następnie poszukując możliwości kształcenia integracyjnego, odnosi siatkę zagadnień do dokumentów oświatowych i wybranych programów nauczania dla szkoły podstawowej w zakresie przedmiotów: język polski, biologia i etyka. Artykuł zamykają wnioski dotyczące zakresu integracji międzyprzedmiotowej i determinant przyszłego programu kształcenia
O lekturze intuicyjnej w dobie neuronauki
The author is interested in the scope of modifying the way that Polish is taught at school by applying discoveries of social neuroscience. Referring to philosophy (Henri Bergson, Roman Ingarden, Francisco Varela), the latest discoveries in the field of neurology, the differences between emotional and practical experience of the text are considered. Earlier didactic approaches were also recalled (Kazimierz Wóycicki, Bronisław Poletur, Wincenty Okoń, Stanisław Bortnowski, Anna Janus-Sitarz) and the results of an experiment related to intuitive reception of Bolesław Leśmian’s poem ***Wyszło z boru ślepawe, zjesieniałe zmrocze… On this basis an idea of intuitive interpretation was outlined based on phenomenology, neuroscience and her own teaching expertise.Autorkę interesuje zakres modyfikacji szkolnej polonistyki przez odkrycia z zakresu neuronauki społecznej. Odwołując się do filozofii (Henriego Bergsona, Romana Ingardena, Francisco Vareli), najnowszych odkryć z zakresu neurologii, rozważa różnice pomiędzy „przeżywaniem” a „doświadczaniem”.
