Subito : Gegenwart in Rainald Goetz’ Heute Morgen-Komplex
The subject of Rainald Goetz – author of the books Irre, Krieg, Kontrolliert, Festung, Heute Morgen and Schlucht – is the present: perception, description and criticism on the basis of his own life. For Goetz living means acting and acting always means writing.
In no other section of his work has Rainald Goetz dealt with the present so comprehensively and commented on it as extensively as in the Heute Morgen-Complex, created in the 90s. By including earlier writing techniques and the later development of further ones, the five books of this work complex can be regarded, if not as representative, but as exemplary for the poetics of Rainald Goetz.
This thesis seeks to counter the work of Rainald Goetz of the »magic place of spirit and the spiritual«, as the university is called by him. For where all order is delusional and the essential structural world-conception is expansion, an order must be found to grasp the life, work and impact of Rainald Goetz. The necessary categories for this purpose are author, text and reader. On this basis, the complex will be summarized, analyzed and presented in terms of content, form and receptivity, in order to be able to view Rainald Goetz’ handling of the present in detail and to present it as a whole.

Land Grabbing and Home Country Development : Chinese and British Land Acquisitions in Comparative Perspective /
Between 2000 and 2016, China and the UK acquired large areas of land through investment projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Illustrated by numerous rich and nuanced empirical accounts of such projects, Ariane Goetz explains the global phenomenon of 'land grabbing' from the perspective of two investor countries. She reflects on Chinese and British public policy, state-society relations, national developmental contexts, ideologies, and international relations and thereby gives insights into the political economies that enable these investments as well as the development ambitions and institutionalized paradigms of which they form a part.Between 2000 and 2016, China and the UK acquired large areas of land through investment projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prole politics – adaptation as appropriation of techno in the works of Rainald Goetz
In this article, I will argue for a different notion of adaptation as a form of appropriation that allows a more productive analysis of the literary works of German author Rainald Goetz. Therefore I will draw on a specific understanding of pop music, which derives from Diedrich Diederichsen 'Über Pop-Musik' (On pop music). According to Diederichsen, pop-music is not limited to certain kinds of music, but moreover to the practices pop-music entails
We live in time and we live in a world of language. Given these conditions, we ask ourselves ‘What is literature?’ and ‘How should we live our lives?’. What matters is the seeking of meaning, especially meaning of literature and life. This dissertation explores Botho Strauß’s poetic of Recollection (Erinnerung) and Rainald Goetz’s poetic of Now (Jetzt), in which experience of time and experience of meaning, in other words, time and literature as a medium of experience of meaning, are closely connected. By analyzing these poetics this dissertation tries to show that the conservative author Strauß and the anti-elite pop-author Goetz regard, in spite of the differences in their poetical code, literature as the ultimate space of possibility to generate and experience meaning. This dissertation looks, then, into the two author’s perspective on time, language and tries to demonstrate that a crucial element of their poetics lies in the longing for an Accident (Ereignis), that is to say the aesthetic experience of a sudden moment, in which the missing meaning is rerecognised or something meaningful and truthful springs up. In this dissertation the proposition is valid that such a moment is most of all realized in language
Psiquiatría y esquizofrenia en Büchner, Nerval y Goetz
The term schizophrenia comes from the field of psychiatry. According to French psychiatrists Lemoine and Cyrulnik (2016), this is a questionable concept. Created in 1908 by Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler (1857-1939), this term means "divided mind." In the field of literature, Todorov (2011) turns to the work of the psychiatrist J. S. Kasanin (who in 1933 implemented the concept “schizoaffective disorder”), to propose the characteristics of the characters in fantasy literature. Deleuze and Guattari (2013) and Fredric Jameson (2012) allude to the term “schizophrenia” to characterize the social and psychological consequences of a historical period. The emotional features of this illness can be observed in three different literary works. To write his novel Lenz (1839), G. Büchner sought inspiration in the biography of an 18th century author who suffered from mental disorders; G. de Nerval is inspired by his own life to create Aurelia (1855) from a fantastic perspective (as proposed by Todorov), and R. Goetz sets Loco (1983) in contemporary life, where the individual suffers from alienation and incomprehension every day. The objective of the following work is to analyze the treatment of schizophrenia in the three novels mentioned above. The German authors (Büchner and Goetz) share a scientific perspective; and Goetz and Nerval, the narrative perspective (polyphonic in the first and individual in the second), and the autobiographical narrative, which arises from the data they provide in their works.
How effective is the EU Entry Price System for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables?
The EU protects EU growers of 15 kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables against international competition not only by the means of ad valorem tariffs of up to 20%, but also by the EU entry-price system (EPS), which is designed to restrict imports below the product-specific, politically designated entry price level. This study investigates the influence of the EPS on import prices of fruits and vegetables per product and country of origin. We utilise a unique data set comprising about 60,000 observations of daily synthetic import prices. We develop two indicators for the effectiveness of the EPS, which serve as variables in a cluster analysis identifying four classes differing in the relevance of the EPS. Results suggest that the relevance of the EPS is heterogeneous among products as well as countries of origin for most fruits and vegetables. Thus, an adequate assessment of the importance of the EPS requires not only a product-specific but also a country-specific analysis. Overall, our results indicate that the effectiveness of the EPS is highest for the import of artichokes, courgettes, cucumbers, lemons, plums and tomatoes. The influence of the EPS on apples, clementines and pears is significantly lower, and of least relevance for EU imports of apricots, mandarins, oranges, peaches and nectarines and table grapes. The EPS has the greatest effect on countries which neighbour the EU, whereas it is of minor importance for exports from far-away countries with the exception of China and South Africa.threshold cointegration, spatial price transmission, vector error correction model, Agricultural and Food Policy, Demand and Price Analysis,

Territory, Temporality and Clustered Europeanization. IHS Political Science Series: 2006, No. 109
Non-convergence amongst the EU member states, despite a wide range of integration effects, has come to be accepted as conventional wisdom in the Europeanization debate. This paper takes issue with the stress on non-convergence and makes a case for ‘clustered Europeanization’. Clustering is promoted by two variables that have so far received little attention in Europeanization research: territory and temporality. Territory influences Europeanization through (a) ‘families of nations’ and (b) center-periphery structures in an expanding European political space. Temporality matters, in particular, through the ‘relative time of accession’, i.e. when countries joined (c) in relation to their domestic political and economic development and (d) in relation to the phase of European integration. While (a) and (c) promote intra-regional commonalities in Europeanization-related domestic variables, (b) and (d) highlight inter-regional differences in the integration experience. This regional distinctness of both domestic and integration variables, in turn, promotes clustered Europeanization
