    In this dissertation, implementation of multi value logic using a novel algebra and Spatial Wavefunction Switched Field Effect Transistor (SWSFET) has been explored. The quantum mechanical simulations, characteristics of the fabricated SWS structures are discussed. The novel device and quaternary algebra has been used to implement multi-value logic. The designs of quaternary SRAM cells, basic logic gates and arithmetic cells are presented. In addition, mixed signal architectures using SWSFET are explored. Simulations for the memory, logic and mixed signal designs are presented. BSIM3 equivalent channel models were used for SWSFET. Cadence Spectre Simulator and Advanced Design Simulator were used as the simulation tools. Quaternary to binary and binary to quaternary conversion circuits are also designed and presented. This helps the quaternary and binary circuits to co-exist on the same die. Multi Valued Logic (MVL) has been in research for many decades. MVL offers benefits and opportunities but it has its own challenges. Quaternary SRAM using SWSFET reduces the number of transistors needed by 75%. Similar savings are shown for implementing quaternary logic when compared to implementation using CMOS based binary logic. In addition, significant reduction in gate delays is achieved by implemented logic using quaternary algebra. Also, logic implementation using quaternary algebra leads to about 50% reduction in interconnect metal density for data signals. This is helpful in reducing the congestion in metal signal routing layers. Metal density, number of metal layers and pressure to use low resistivity materials have added to the die cost over recent years. Implementing MVL in main stream microprocessor needs further research in designs tools. In addition, the fabrication and transistor design need to be optimized to tune MVL based designs

The author focuses on the importance of religious ethics, especially from the perspectives of divine religions such as the Abrahamic faiths, in offering viable solutions to those issues. He narrows the scope of discussion onto Islamic response to the challenges of ecology today and the role of Islamic Ethics in dealing with the issues. The author employs a qualitative methodology that covers critical and textual analyses on materials related to the issues. The research finds that the real problem of sustainable development and ecological issues lies in one of man‘s character traits—greed.     Cyber-Physical Co-Simulation Testbed for Real-Time Reactive Power Control in Smart Distribution Network

    Existing electric power distribution systems are evolving and changing as a result of the high renewable energy sources integration. Hence, future smart distribution networks will involve various technical challenges; one of them is real-time monitoring and controlling the network to operate it effectively and efficiently. This paper develops and analyzes a cyber-physical co-simulation testbed for real-time reactive power control in the smart distribution network. The testbed is a two-layer system, with Typhoon HIL 604 representing the physical layer and the other layer as a cybernetic layer. The cybernetic layer is used to model a test system and control reactive power from smart inverters in real-time. The implementation of real-time reactive power control of smart inverters on a CIGRE MV distribution network is shown in this study.     In general, the indigenous people of Mandailing in Rokan Hulu Regency are aware that a small portion of their ulayat land area has been reduced. This has been realized since the 1990s when there was illegal logging in their forests. The impact of logging and land clearing is still being felt today, the big floods that occur every rainy season is very detrimental to the local people. To resolve their ulayat land disputes, the community still uses the role of a traditional leader known as Raja Huta Pawan. The formulation of the problem in this research are to find out the cause of the customary land dispute of the Mandailing indigenous people and how the role of Raja Huta Pawan in the resolving ulayat land disputes is. The research method used is sociological law research. The author went directly to the field to obtain and collect data by means of interviews. The results of the study found that the causes of ulayat land disputes were evidence of weak land ownership, unclear customary land boundaries, claims or projects from the government or private parties, outsiders of the alliance did not know the customary land law of the Mandailing people, the absence of historical actors (people elders), land has increasing economic value, the disappearance of cultural values, the lack of coordination between the Raja Huta Pawan and the village head and the absence of socialization. The role of Raja Huta Pawan is quite good as a mediator and decision maker and also as the front guard to participate in solving problems in order to protect the rights of the Mandailing indigenous people
