Un canone «giambico» per Basilio di Cesarea e la circoncisione del Signore e il suo raffinato acrostico tetrastico fra critica filologico-letteraria e teologia
Despite the criticism expressed by its first editor (Antonio Rocchi), the anonymous “iambic” canon for 1 January (feasts of the Circumcision of the Lord and of Basil of Caesarea) seems to be one of the best Byzantine liturgical hymns written in dodecasyllables. In this paper, after dealing with the manuscript tradition of the canon (of which Rocchi knew only one defective witness), the author analyzes its refined tetrastich acrostic, consisting in a couple of elegiac distichs formed by the initials of all the lines of the hymn, and discusses its uncertain authorship
Status quaestionis sui Sinassari italogreci
ENG: reasoned list of italo-greek Synaxaria identified so far (some of which "discovered" by the author) belonging to the recensiones B*, C* and F* of the Constantinopolitan liturgical book, with the proposal of an innovative hypothesis for the reconstruction of its penetration in Southern Italy. The author gives a brief paleographic and textual description of all the witnesses taken into account
Canoni «giambici» d’epoca bizantina e postbizantina. Un’‘isola’ nella produzione innografica della chiesa greca
In the first part of the paper, the author analyses the Sicilian reception of the rare innographical genre in classical style represented by the canons in Byzantine dodecasyllables, which were composed particularly by Theophanes (of Sicily?), Methodios of Syracuse, Eugenios of Palermo; instead, the second part is dedicated to the isolated, but interesting, production of «iambic» canons in post-Byzantine era at the hands of Manuel Korinthios, Nicholas Mavrocordatos, George Chrysogonos Trapezountios, Gerasimos Ioannoulis, John Hierosolymos, Antonio Rocchi
Lo στρατοπεδάρχης Μουσιλίκης nella Vita Ιgnatii di Niceta David Paflagone
The article deals with the “strategos” of Sicily Mousilikes, protagonist of one of the miracula post mortem reported in the Life of the Constantinopolitan patriarch Ignatius ascribed to Niketas-David Paphlagon. The author of this article critically analyzes the assimilation, first affirmed by Michele Amari, between the above episode and a historical event which is mentioned only in an Arab source, reconstructing the career of the homonymous historical figure, who is mentioned in documentary and sigillographic sources: he suggests that this particular episode of the Ignatian Bios may be the result of a conscious slight distortion of an historical event by Niketas-David Paphlagon for his own ideological purposes
Il carme 70 per la σεβαστή Maria della silloge cristoforea tramandata nel ms. Crypt. Ζ.α.XXIX
After describing the second codicological unit of the MS Crypt. Ζ.α.XXIX / gr. 55 in which the collection of the poems by Christopher Mitylenaios has been handed down to us, the author analyzes the incomplete text of the epigram 70, consisting of the epitaph dedicated to the σεβαστή Maria, of which he proposes a new edition and interpretation, and discusses the possibilities of identifying the female dedicatee of the poem
Multiscale Modelling for the Fission Gas Behaviour in the TRANSURANUS Code
A formulation is proposed for modelling the process of intra-granular diffusion of fission gas during irradiation of UO2 under both normal operating conditions and power transients. The concept represents a simple extension of the formulation of Speight, including an estimation of the contribution of bubble motion to fission gas diffusion. The resulting equation is formally identical to the diffusion equation adopted in most models that are based on the formulation of Speight, therefore retaining the advantages in terms of simplicity of the mathematical-numerical treatment and allowing application in integral fuel performance codes. The development of the new model proposed here relies on results obtained by means of molecular dynamics simulations as well as finite element computations. The formulation is proposed for incorporation in the TRANSURANUS fuel performance code
