A letter from Gilbert N. Jerome to Laurence L. Doggett dated June 10, 1917. In the letter Jerome tells Doggett that he regrets not being able to attend his Commencement Exercises but that he passed a physical exam and was recommended for the aviation section.Gilbert N. Jerome was a student at Springfield College in 1912 and graduated in 1914. He then became a Scout Executive in 1915 for the New Haven Council Boy Scouts of America and later became an pilot and fought in world war 1. He died on July 11, 1918 at the battle of Belmont in France
