A Hybrid SEM-Neural Network Modeling of Quality of M-Commerce Services under the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic
The research purpose is to contribute to the understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic impact on the intensification of commercial transactions on the mobile channel (m-commerce) and to identify the most significant factors that act on consumer behavior based on the development of a conceptual model to establish the influence of m-commerce service quality on customer satisfaction and loyalty. The data were collected through a survey addressed to customers who, during 2021–2022, made at least one purchase through m-commerce. The analysis was performed with SPSS Statistics and Amos software, using a hybrid approach: Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The research results confirm the hypotheses presented in this study. Both models identified the quality of services offered by m-commerce, satisfaction, and trust as determining factors for increasing consumer loyalty in virtual commerce. The novelty of this study consists of an interconnected analysis model of some variables specific to mobile commerce, which have not been used in this combination in the specialized literature. This research can be the basis of other research studies. In addition, it provides valuable results for the business environment (forecasts) and customers by obtaining improved, personalized, and secure commerce services
Final Energy Consumption—Growth Nexus in Romania Versus the European Union: A Sectoral Approach Using Neural Network
The energy crisis caused first by the COVID-19 pandemic and continued by the Russo-Ukrainian War has demonstrated that energy is a determining factor in the conduct of activities of any state. Several studies have examined the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth, developing various theories, but there is no consensus. This study investigates relationships by analyzing several regression models and choosing the fittest. Then, the verification of its validity is performed through the neural network, which gives greater credibility to the results obtained. Furthermore, using a structural analysis, the investigation is expanded to ranking the impact of sector-specific energy consumption on economic growth. The research includes data from 1995 to 2020 for the European Union (EU) and Romania. The results indicate that short-term energy consumption can have a positive or negative impact on economic growth, both in the EU and Romania. The structural analysis highlights the direct and indirect effects, with different intensities, of sector-specific energy consumption on economic growth. This study is interested primarily in the conditions of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russo-Ukrainian War, to enable the EU and each member state to take effective energy policy measures to ensure their energy security
Approach to the Impact of Digital Technologies on Sustainability Reporting through Structural Equation Modeling and Artificial Neural Networks
The motivation for study derives from the requirements imposed by the European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, which increases the sustainability reporting scope and the need for companies to use emerging digital technologies. The research aim is to evaluate the digital transformation impact of the European Union companies on sustainability reporting expressed through three sustainable performance indicators (economic, social, and ecological) based on a conceptual model. The data were collected from Eurostat for 2011–2021. The study proposes a framework for sustainable performance analysis through linear regression models and structural equations. Additionally, a hierarchy of digitization indicators is created by modeling structural equations, depending on their impact on sustainability performance indicators, which is validated using neural networks. The results indicate that the company’s digital transformation indicators positively influence economic and social performance and lead to an improved environmental protection (a decrease in pollution), proving the established hypotheses’ validity. The proposed model can be the basis for companies to create their dashboards for analyzing and monitoring sustainable performance. This research can be the basis of other studies, having a significant role in establishing economic and environmental strategies to stimulate an increase of companies that carry out sustainability reporting

The constant development in technology, communication and particularly the Internet, has revolutionized the entire tourism industry, by generating new business models, restructuring the distribution channels, reshaping the production process involved in tourism industry and last but not least has influenced the suppliers of touristic services as well as the stakeholders. In this work I have tried to enhance the implications of electronic tourism for the visitors, the tourism operators, highlighting the informational systems which serve the touristic services. E-tourism comes to support the tourists by providing specialized sites and software which reduce the time necessary for the touristic destinations , making easier the process of booking or renting a car or help planning the trip and making a decision. One of the most common problems associated with the developing distribution is the large amount of information available for the client and to be able to explore it, I have presented intelligent agents with all the advantages this new artificial technology brings along.e-tourism, portal, intelligent agents.
Intelligent Agents - a Tool for Modeling Intermediation and Negotiation Processes
Many contemporary problems as encountered in society and economy require advanced capabilities for evaluation of situations and alternatives and decision making, most of the time requiring intervention of human agents, experts in negotiation and intermediation. Moreover, many problems require the application of standard procedures and activities to carry out typical socio-economic processes (for example by employing standard auctions for procurement or supply of goods or convenient intermediation to access resources and information). This paper focuses on enhancing knowledge about intermediation and negotiation processes in order to improve quality of services and optimize performances of business agents, using new computational methods that combine formal methods with intelligent agents paradigm. Taking into account their modularity and extensibility, agent systems allow facile, standardized and seamless integration of negotiation protocols and strategies by employing declarative and formal representations specific to computer science.Business processes, Intelligent Agents, Intermediation and Negotiation, Formal Models.
Quality Research by Using Performance Evaluation Metrics for Software Systems and Components
Software performance and evaluation have four basic needs: (1) well-defined performance testing strategy, requirements, and focuses, (2) correct and effective performance evaluation models, (3) well-defined performance metrics, and (4) cost-effective performance testing and evaluation tools and techniques. This chapter first introduced a performance test process and discusses the performance testing objectives and focus areas. Then, it summarized the basic challenges and issues on performance testing and evaluation of component based programs and components. Next, this chapter presented different types of performance metrics for software components and systems, including processing speed, utilization, throughput, reliability, availability, and scalability metrics. Most of the performance metrics covered here can be considered as the application of existing metrics to software components. New performance metrics are needed to support the performance evaluation of component based programs
A Structural Framework for Assessing the Digital Resilience of Enterprises in the Context of the Technological Revolution 4.0
This research aims to develop a conceptual model to establish the influence of digital core investment and digital innovation on digital resilience at the enterprise level. The data were collected through a questionnaire-based survey of managers and IT specialists of companies. The analysis was performed using structural equation modeling with SPSS Statistics and Amos software. Based on the literature review, the study identifies the main factors that can ensure digital resilience and assesses their impact on Romania’s private and public companies. The research results confirm the hypotheses presented in the article, emphasizing that digital resilience is the result of the collaboration of several factors with different effects, determined by using Industry 4.0 technologies. Thus, digital core and digital innovation investments help improve digital resilience. Moreover, digital core investments have a positive impact on the digital resilience of enterprises, mediated by digital innovation investments. The study’s novelty consists in the realization of a model of interconnected analysis of several variables specific to digital and innovative technologies to ensure the resilience framework at the company level. The research offers valuable results which can be used by companies in Romania or other European Union countries to ensure their digital resilience
