The Influence of Stock Liquidity on Tail Risk of Stock Market: An Empirical Research Based on POT Model
In view of the irrationality of the normal hypothesis of the value-at-risk model, the POT model based on the generalized pareto distribution is used to measure the tail risk of China's stock market, and the influence of stock liquidity on the tail risk of China's stock market is explored by grouping the sample data according to liquidity. In the research, the slope change point theory in statistical theory is introduced into the traditional threshold selection method, which effectively avoids the subjectivity problem when determining the optimal threshold. The test results show that for the measurement of tail risk of the stock market, the VaR value at the 95% confidence level is more reliable than the estimated result of the VaR value at the 90% confidence level, and the estimated value shows that tail risk and liquidity change in the opposite direction, that is, the smaller the stock liquidity is, the greater the market tail risk
Acoustic manipulation of sound with soft material-based actuators
This thesis describes a unique parabolic acoustic manipulator with an inflatable structure, which has high gain and directivity. We created a morphable elastomeric reflecting surface with a diameter of 14 cm (6 in). Applying vacuum deforms the device into a concave structure, which provides directional amplification of incoming acoustic waves. In addition, the author characterized the impedance of the soft material employed in the acoustic reflector, Ecoflex 00-10, in an impedance tube. Ecoflex 00-10 has a measured reflection coefficient of approximately 0.9 at frequencies ranging from 500 Hz to 5000 Hz. This new characterization suggests this class of silicone-based elastomers is capable of advanced morphable devices to manipulate sound. Simulations also demonstrate that the soft reflecting surface is capable of transformation into a set of desired parabolic shapes between an initial planar geometry (neutral position) and a configuration with maximum curvature. With an applied vacuum, the membrane reaches its maximum deformation limited by the aluminum housing. At this stage of actuation, experimental results show the deformed membrane has similar gain and directionality (polar response) as rigid parabolic reflectors. This type of system might find future uses for adjustable parabolic microphones and long-range communication devices.M.S.Includes bibliographical referencesby Yanjun Wan

COMPOSITES OF THE TITANIA THIN FILMS IMPLANTED BY <font>Ge</font> AND <font>Si</font>
By using reactive magnetron sputtering system, titanium dioxide thin films were fabricated onto quartz substrate, and then modified by Ge and Si atoms that were introduced with ion implantation method. XRD, AFM, XPS, and UV-vis were used to characterize these films, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was adopted to examine the atomic chemical states of implanted titanium dioxide thin films. The results show that there are Ge and silicon oxides precipitations in TiO 2 matrices. The implanted Ge + Si thin film exhibits an intense absorption band within visible region, which will further benefit its practical applications. </jats:p
AudioEar: Single-View Ear Reconstruction for Personalized Spatial Audio
Abstract
We introduce AudioEar3D, a high-quality 3D ear dataset consisting of 112 point cloud ear scans with RGB images, to benchmark the ear reconstruction task. We further collect a 2D ear dataset composed of 2,000 images, each one with manual annotation of occlusion and 55 landmarks, named AudioEar2D. To our knowledge, both datasets have the largest scale and best quality of their kinds for public use.

Postgraduate Student, College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University. Her research interests are meteorological tourism, consumer behavior and tourism destination marketing. While the uncertainty is increasingly becoming a challenge in the supply of meteorological landscape for destinations, little is known about the emotional experiences and behavioural tendencies of visitors triggered by this uncertainty under landscape viewing. Grounded upon cognitive appraisal theory, this study conducted in-depth interviews with 31 visitors who had experience of seeing the meteorological landscape to solicit their perceptions and appraisals of uncertainty. Results revealed that the uncertainty influenced visitors’ cognitive appraisal process, including cognitive appraisal, emotional experiences, coping strategies, and behavioural tendency in the future. Specifically, five positive and four negative emotions, and two coping strategies were identified. In addition, four types of revisit intention were also discussed and summarised. Interestingly, this study found that positive emotions didn’t always trigger positive behavioural tendencies, while negative emotions may also contribute positively to behavioural tendencies. Theoretical and practical implications for destination management are also offered
Application of a Novel Resorbable Membrane in the Treatment of Calvarial Defects in Rats
Diplen-Gam (DG) is a novel absorbable guided bone regeneration (GBR) membrane. This study was designed to evaluate the capacity of bone repair of DG compared with that of Bio-Gide (BG). Critical size defects were created in both sides of the calcarium of 36 Sprague-Dawley rats. Defects were assigned to six groups and each group was subjected to one of the following treatments: (A1) unfilled defects, (A2) Bio-Oss (BO) grafts, (B1) DG membrane, (B2) BG membrane, (C1) DG membrane + BO grafts and (C2) BG membrane + BO grafts. The animals were killed at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks after the operation. The defects and surrounding tissues were examined by gross observation and X-ray examination. The paraffin sections were subjected to HE (hematoxylin and eosin) staining and IHC (immunohistochemistry) for bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2). The X-rays showed that, at 12 weeks, the DG and BG group exhibited more new bone formation than CSD blank group did; the BG group exhibited more new bone formation than the DG group did (t = 5.240, P = 0.035), the BG + BO group showed no significant differences in bone formation compared with the DG + BO group (t = 1.246, P = 0.339). By IHC staining, BMP-2-positive results could be seen inside the DG membrane, on the surface of the new bone, and inside the new bone. It can be suggested that BG membrane achieved better effects in guided bone regeneration compared with DG membrane. No significant differences were found between the two membranes in their bone healing ability when they are used with BO. Therefore, DG membrane shows clinical effectiveness, but should be used in combination with bone substitute. Analysis on the General Conception and Planning of the Road Trip Campsite along the Land Silk Road in China
This article is based on the cultural background of the land section of the "Silk Road" and the surrounding status quo research basis, combined with its own characteristics of tourism resources, folk culture and traffic conditions, establish a self-driving camping site system in the five provinces of Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and New Zealand on the domestic section of the "Silk Road". This paper summarizes the current situation and constraints of campsites in each province through data collection, data analysis and field investigation. On this basis, we put forward the overall construction and planning ideas of the camp. The purpose is to scientifically, reasonably and orderly plan the construction scheme of road trip routes, camping sites and campsites along the Silk Road. This will further promote the healthy development of tourism and cultural experience in the areas along the Silk Road, provide convenient and safe travel routes and recreation environment for tourists, but also improve the economy and people's living standards in the areas along the route
