Chimarra gangtokensis Kaur & Garima & Pandher 2020

    No full text
In <p> the publication by Kaur <i>et al.</i> (2020), the depository for the holotype of <i>Chimarra gangtokensis</i> new species was given as “(NPC)”, but no corresponding explanation for this acronym was provided in that publication. Therefore, the name of the species is unavailable (International Code of Zoological Nomenclature 1999, Art. 16.4.2). We clarify here that the holotype is a male deposited in the National Pusa Collection, Division of Entomology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi (NPC). The purpose of this note is to validate the name of the new species from the publication date of this erratum by a reference to the original description and diagnosis as an indication (International Code of Zoological Nomenclature 1999, Art. 13.1.2).</p>Published as part of <i>Kaur, Simarjit, Garima, Deepti & Pandher, Manpreet Singh, 2020, New Species and New Records of Caddisflies (Insecta: Trichoptera) from India, pp. 600 in Zootaxa 4801 (3)</i> on page 600, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4801.3.13, <a href="http://zenodo.org/record/3990973">http://zenodo.org/record/3990973</a&gt

Power Garima-generated family of distributions: properties and application

    No full text
In this article, we propose a new  power Garima-generated (PG-G) family of distributions. It depends on a power Garima random variable as a generator. Three special models of the PG-G family are displayed: the power Garima-Fr\'echet, power Garima-Weibull, and power Garima-Lindley distributions. Some properties, including the quantile function, survival and hazard rate functions, moments, skewness, kurtosis, and order statistics, are derived. The algorithm for generating a random number that follows the PG-G family is proposed. The maximum likelihood estimation is employed to obtain the parameter estimators of the PG-G family. The efficiency and importance of the newly generated family are examined through real data sets. Moreover, the example for generating a random number and estimating the parameters of some special model of the PG-G distribution family are proposed with R code to demonstrate how it can be applied in data analysis

(R2116) The Novel Garima Distribution Properties and Nuclear Data Application

    No full text
This research introduces a new two-parameter Marshall-Olkin Garima distribution model. The novel model has many sub-models that are useful in modeling real-life data, such as the extended Garima distribution, exponentiated Garima distribution, exponential distribution, Lindley distribution, Kumaraswamy Garima distribution, and normal distribution. The proposed model demonstrates a high level of suitability in modeling both reliability and survival data. It is flexible in accommodating various failures. The quantile function, density shapes, hazard rate functions, and order statistics are a few of the statistical features that have been explored. Maximum likelihood estimation methods were employed to estimate the parameters. Using five data sets, the suggested distribution’s flexibility was shown with nuclear reactions that are important systems in the field of nuclear physics. The proposed distribution was compared with its sub-models and other existing models. The findings demonstrated that, compared to the other competing distributions, the suggested distribution offered a superior fit to the data sets

Judith S McKenzie, Francis Watson, The Garima Gospels: Early Illuminated Gospel Books from Ethiopia, Manar al-Athar, 2016, 336 pages. "The three Garima Gospels are the earliest surviving Ethiopian gospel books. They provide glimpses of lost late antique luxury gospel books and art of the fifth to seventh centuries, in the Aksumite kingdom of Ethiopia as well as in the Christian East. As this work shows, their artwork is closely related to Syriac, Armenian, Greek, and Georgian gospel books and..
