Get PDFThe paper analyzes the radical right‘s attitudes toward the EU focusing in particular on the level of congruence between the programmatic statements of the central office and the voting behavior of their MEPs. It shows that although radical right parties represent a source of opposition to the EU, within the EP they express their dissent making use of the rules of the game, voting with the opposition more than the other forces do, but voting almost as much with the majority. The party public office in the EP is inserted in the legislative process and even more collusive with the other parties of both sides of the political spectrum than the Eurosceptical rhetoric and statements of central office makes the public believe

Get PDFThe friendship between Gabriele d’Annunzio and Angelo Conti is particularly intense in the years 1894-1900, in the context of Venice. Both of them reflect about Venetian painters and especially Giorgione, whose picture they interpret as an expression of Venetian magnificent life. I analyze the meaning of the form fuoco giorgionesco, also used by Walter Pater in his well-known essay The School of Giorgione. I examine in particular Conti’s references to this text, in order to verify their accuracy. I put forward the hypothesis that, when Conti wrote the monograph Giorgione, his knowledge of the English author was incomplete and came largely from articles published in magazines, from conversations with friends, and from the translation into Italian of only short extracts. I argue that it was unlikely that Conti (and d’Annunzio) had read Pater’s whole work in English, which at the time was little known in Italy

Going in Style: Audio Backdoors Through Stylistic Transformations
No full textThis work explores stylistic triggers for backdoor attacks in the audio domain: dynamic transformations of malicious samples through guitar effects. We first formalize stylistic triggers – currently missing in the literature. Second, we explore how to develop stylistic triggers in the audio domain by proposing JingleBack. Our experiments confirm the effectiveness of the attack, achieving a 96% attack success rate. No full textMarina Abramovich ha trascorso la stagione della pratica performativa, partendo dagli studi all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Zagabria per approdare ad Amsterdam e successivamente a New York. Nata nel 1946 a Belgrado, da genitori convinti e fedeli assertori della dittattura comunista, il padre diventa eroe nazionale, si definisce oggi “Grandmother of perfomance art”. La serie dei Rhythm divenne di portata rivoluzionaria per la violenza che infliggeva al suo corpo, spingendosi all’estremo limite fisico. Nel 1975 con Rhythm 5, si stende al centro di una stella a cinque punte in legno che viene data alle fiamme, l’aria diventa irrespirabile, perde i sensi, rischia di morire e viene salvata dall’aiuto degli spettatori. Nel 2016 edita da Bompiani esce la sua autobiografia Attraversare i muri, in cui ripercorre la sua vita privata e di artista, si interroga sui concetti di dolore e paura come emozioni che sopraggiungono nel momento in cui varchiamo la soglia di un limite. Eppure solo attraversando il muro abbattiamo la dicotomia tra corpo e mente. Afferma “Il dolore è un muro, straziante, insopportabile, ma chi riesce a trapassarlo accede ad un diverso stato di consapevolezza. A una nuova fonte di energia illimitata. E la Marina impaurita, diventa la Marina eroica. Una sensazione inebriante che raggiungo solo davanti al pubblico, perché è dagli spettatori che traggo forza. Senza di loro non arriverei in fondo”
