    A Review on Liao’s Dissertation Entitled “The Solutions on Multi-choice Games” and Related Publications

    In 2007, Liao finished his Ph.d. dissertation[18](Liao 2007) entitled “The Solutions on Multi-choice Games”. Chapter 1 of the dissertation mainly worked on two special cases of the H&R multi-choice Shapley value. One assumes that the weight function w(j) is a positive constant function for all j 6= 0 with w(0) = 0 and the other one assumes that the weight function w(j) = j for all j. If w(j) ’s are equal for all j > 0 then the formula of H&R multi-choice Shapley value can be significantly simplified to the original formula of the traditional Shapley value for the traditional games. Therefore, as a matter of fact, Definitions 1 and 2 in Chapter 1 of the dissertation [18] are simply the traditional Shapley value. Hence, in most part of Chapter 1, Liao was just writing “new results” of traditional games in terms of the notations of multi-choice games. Furthermore, the dissertation [18] did not cited [7](1994), [8](1995a) and [10](1996) which held the original ideas of its main part of chapter 1.Multi-choice TU games, Shapley value, potential, w-consistency

    Effect of thermally aged oil on space charge dynamics in oil/paper insulation system

    The formation of space charge in oil/paper insulation system can lead to material degradation in the high electrical field region and affect system reliability. Therefore, it is important to understand factors that affect space charge formation in oil/paper insulation system. In the present study the effect of thermally aged oil on space charge dynamics in oil/paper insulation system has been investigated using the pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) technique under different dc electrical fields at room temperature. The condition of oil was characterised. The ultraviolet/visible (UV/Vis) spectrum of oil shifts to visible wavelength and the oil acidity increased as the ageing time increased. It has been found that oil property has a significant effect on the space charge distribution of oil/paper insulation system. The more the deterioration of the oil and the higher the applied voltage, the larger the amount of negative charge injected into the paper near to the cathode and the positive charge accumulated at the paperpaper interface near to the cathode. The maximum electric field strength for oil/paper sample with seriously aged oil under 4kV and 6kV is more than 20% higher than its average electric field strength

    Assessing Ageing Condition of Mineral Oil-Paper Insulation by Polarization/Depolarization Current

    Accurately assessing the ageing status of oil-paper insulation in transformer is essential and important. Polarization and Depolarization Current (PDC) technique is effective in assessing the condition of oil-paper insulation system. Though the PDC behaviour of mineral oil-paper insulation has been widely investigated, there is no report about how to make the quantitative analysis of mineral oil-paper insulation ageing condition by PDC. The PDC characteristics of mineral oil-paper insulation samples were investigated over the ageing period at 110°C. A new method for assessing the ageing condition of mineral oil-paper insulation by calculating the depolarization charge quantity was proposed. Results show that the depolarization charge quantity of mineral oil-paper insulation sample is very sensitive to its ageing condition. The stable depolarization charge quantity could be used to predict the ageing condition of mineral oil-paper insulation

    A Comparative Study of Moisture and Temperature Effect on the Frequency Dielectric Response Behaviour of Pressboard Immersed in Natural Ester and Mineral Oil

    It is important to investigate the dielectric behaviour of natural ester-paper insulation as the number of transformer choosing natural ester as its insulation oil is increasing. A comparative study of the influence of moisture and temperature on the frequency dielectric response of pressboard immersed in natural ester and mineral oil was provided. X-Y model simulation was used to indicate the difference between the frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS) characteristics of transformer main insulation system using natural ester-pressboard and mineral oil-pressboard, respectively. Compared to the mineral oil impregnated pressboard with lower moisture content, the natural ester impregnated pressboard with lower moisture content has higher E'r and tan? values in the lower frequency region at various temperatures. While there is no significant difference existing in the E'r and tan? curves of mineral oil impregnated pressboard and natural ester impregnated pressboard with higher moisture content in the lower frequency. X-Y model simulation results show that the dielectric loss difference between natural ester-paper insulation system and mineral oil-paper insulation system with the lower moisture content is more obvious at higher temperature

    <i>Mitreola bullata</i> Y. S. Chen & J. J. Liao, <i>sp. nov.</i> (Fig. 1) <p> <b>Type</b>:— CHINA. Yunnan province: Yuanyang county, Daping town, Shangxinya, on shady limestone cliffs by a stream, 22°55′14.29”N, 103°5′56.53”E, 1526 m, 1 April 2020, <i>Y. S</i> <i>.</i> <i>Chen et al. YY1118</i> (holotype IBSC; isotypes KUN, PE).</p> <p>Perennial herb, 3.0– 8.5 cm tall. Stem terete, erect, short, simple or branched at base, old stem leaf traces obvious; internodes 3.0–6.0 mm. Leaves opposite, often clustered at the stem or branch apex, petiolate; petioles 1.0–2.6(–3.5) cm long, purplish red or green, densely pilose; leaf blade bullate, thickly papery when dry, elliptic or long elliptic, 1.8–5.2(–8.5) cm long, 0.8–1.7(–3.2) cm wide, apex acute or obtuse, base cuneate or rounded, margin entire, densely pilose on both surface, pilose along margin and nerves beneath; lateral veins 7–10 pairs, sunken above, proliferous beneath, veins in abaxial surface purplish red; stipules triangular, interpetiolar, ca. 1.0 mm long. Inflorescence dichasium, terminal and axillary, peduncle up to 4.0 cm long, purplish-green, sparsely pilose or glabrescent, usually more than 10 flowered; bracts lanceolate 1.5–4.0 mm long. Pedicel 1.0–2.0 mm long. Calyx 5, glabrous, purplish red, long-triangular, base conate. Corolla urceolate, light purple, ca. 3 mm long, lobes 5, broad ovate, 1.3–1.5 mm long, with tubes almost isometric, glabrous except have a ring of long hairs at throat. Stamens 5, nearly inserted at the middle of corolla tube, filaments ca. 0.5 mm long, anthers broad ovate, ca. 0.4 mm long. Ovaries semi-inferior, two carpels, distinct; style ca. 0.3 mm long, free at base, stigma capitate. Capsules split near the middle, with two erect horns, ca. 3.5 mm long, ca. 3.5 mm wide, sepals persistent at base.</p> <p> <b>Phenology:</b> Flowering in from March to April, fruiting from May to June.</p> <p> <b>Distribution and habitat:</b> — <i>Mitreola bullata</i> is currently known only from one locality in Yuanyang County, Yunnan Province, China. YY1054</i> (IBSC).</p> <p> <b>Notes:</b> — <i>Mitreola bullata</i> is most similar to <i>M</i>. <i>yangchunensis</i> Q. X. Ma, H. G. Ye & F. W. Xing (2010: 42) in its stems terete, stamens nearly inserted at the middle of corolla tube, capsules split near the middle and with two erect horns, but differs by its low height, leaf blades bullate and densely pilose on both surface, petiole longer and purple or green, veins in abaxial surface purple, calyces glabrous and purplish red (see Table 1).</p> <p> <b>Conservation status:</b> — During our one year’s fieldwork in southeastern Yunnan, <i>Mitreola bullata</i> is currently found only from the type locality with no more than 100 individuals in Yuanyang County. It is easily disturbed because its habitat is close to a town and farmland.
