    The cross sections for (n, x) nuclear reactions on terbium and lutetium isotopes

    Neutron cross sections have been measured for Lu and Tb isotopes with neutron activation method. Foils of natural lutetium and terbium were irradiated by neutrons produced by neutron generator NG-300/15. To ensure results accuracy and precision the coincidence summing and self-absorption effects have been taken into account. Calculations of efficiency and corrections have been performed with Monte Carlo simulations. The cross section results obtained for 175Lu(n, α) 172Tm reactions were reported for the first time. Theoretical calculations of excitation functions were conducted with the Talys-1.0 code

    Determination of cross sections for nuclear reactions (n, x) at germanium isotopes

    The cross section values for nuclear reactions 74Ge(n, α) 71mZn, 70Ge(n, p)70Ga, 76Ge(n,2n)75mGe, 70Ge(n,2n)69Ge have been measured for neutron energy 14,53 MeV, and of reaction 72Ge(n, 2n)71Ge for energies 13,32, 13,69, 14,35, 14,74 MeV as well. Measurements have been carried out with neutron activation method. The samples in the form of disks of natural germanium have been irradiated with DT-neutrons. Instrumental gamma-spectra of activation products have been measured with two HPGe spectrometers. The corrections for neutron flux instability, real geometry of the experiment, the effect of gamma-ray true coincidence summing during activation product spectra measurements, and the effect of self-absorption of gamma-rays in the sample were calculated. Average neutron energy in the samples has been determined experimentally with Zr/Nb method

    Cross sections of nuclear reactions 92Zr(n, p)92Y and 94Zr(n, p)94Y were measured in the neutron energy range 13,56 ÷ 14,53 MeV. Measurements have been carried out by neutron activation method. The samples in the form of foils of natural zirconium have been irradiated by DT- neutrons. Instrumental gamma-spectra of activation products have been measured by spectrometer with HPGe detector. The corrections on the instability of neutron flux, real geometry of the experiment, the effect of true coincidence summing of gamma-quanta during activation products spectra measurements and on effect of absorption gamma-quanta in the sample were considered. The average neutron energy has been determined experimentally by Zr/Nb method

    Cross section of the nuclear reactions (n, p), (n, α), (n, 2n) were measured on isotopes of dysprosium, erbium and ytterbium at the neutron energies 14.6 ± 0.2 MeV. They were compared with available experimental data, evaluated nuclear data and the results of theoretical calculations. Cross sections were measured within neutron-activation method. Theoretical calculations of the nuclear cross sections reaction were performed with the use of EMPIRE 3.0 and TALYS 1.2 codes as well as by empirical and semi-empirical systematics

The experiment results were obtained to characterize an adsorption of the deuterium while stuffing the carbon target by beam of accelerated ions and a desorption of the deuterium from the same carbon target as the function of its temperature. Bombardment of carbon target with 400 keV deuteron beam of 1 mA current leads to the 12C(d,n)13N nuclear reaction, allowing to generate neutrons of (10 ÷ 100) keV energy range with neutron flux density (106 - 107) n/(cm2·s) near the carbon target
