Children's trilogy “LILI, from conflict to conflict Medition” (“Lili, do Conflito à Mediação de Conflitos”)
The author has devoted her life to matters relating to communication, whether in business contexts, or as a mediator, trainer and moderator. The trilogy “Lili, do conflito à Mediação de Conflitos” aims to help create more informed citizens, starting from an early age, namely in terms of the new forms of solving conflicts. In the first book: “Lili and the conflicts” (“Lili e os Conflitos”), we find the theme of conflicts; how to deal with them; respect for the different other; to put oneself in the place of the other. In the second book: “Lili and Conflict Medition” (“Lili e a Mediação de Conflitos”), we find the space created by conflict mediation so the parts in conflict can be heard; the enormous need to listen to the other; the needed empathy so as to know the reality of the other. In the third and final book: “Lili and the Conflict Mediator” (“Lili e o Mediador de Conflitos”), we explain what it is to be a conflict mediator, this “new” profession, distinguishing it from other professions which also use the word “Mediator”.The author makes presentations of the books and its topics, bringing these issues to debate and making them known to the school environment, both to students and teachers, as well as staff and parents.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.</jats:sec

mDia formins are required for cell recovery in 5-FU-induced myeloid suppression.
(A) The numbers of HSPCs and committed progenitors from purified lineage-negative cells were analyzed and quantified by flow cytometer analysis by day 7 after 5-FU treatment. (B) Survival percentage of lineage-negative cells from A assayed by Annexin V staining. (C) Complete blood cell counts of wild-type or mDia1 KO mice were determined by day 7 after the first injection of 5-FU. (D) Kaplan-Meier survival analysis of indicated mice challenged with serial 5-FU injection. Error bars represent the SEM of the mean. * ppppp values. (TIFF)</p
Essays on financial econometrics:
This dissertation comprises of three essays in financial econometrics. The first essay discusses the efficacy of alternative simulation models of the short term interest rate. This is done by constructing consistent specification tests that allow us to carry out a "horse-race" comparing various one, two, and three factor models (possiblely with jumps), across multiple historical sample periods. We find that the choice of model for simulating the future distribution of short rates is highly sample dependent, and structural breaks appear to be an important component to be considered.
The second essay presents a model that focuses on exploring the profitability of portfolio-based trading strategies that variously combine downside risk, momentum, and mean reversion by carrying out a series of pseudo real-time trading experiments using different combination trading strategies. We find, contrary to the existing literature, that momentum effects are sensitive to value and size factors. In particular, downside risk plays an important role when portfolios are sorted based on size and value.
The third essay re-examines the empirical linkage between macroeconomic variables and financial markets. Our evaluation focuses on the use of a large variety of state-of-the-art ex-ante predictive accuracy tests as well as more standard in-sample regression diagnostics. We observe substantive shifts in the dynamics of macroeconomic factor models, which have noteworthy effects on the predictive content of the factors when used to predict returns.Ph.D.Includes bibliographical references (p. 84-88)by Lili Ca
