Table_1_Effects of Qi-Fu-Yin on aging of APP/PS1 transgenic mice by regulating the intestinal microbiome.xlsx
IntroductionAlzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia and closely related to aging. Qi-Fu-Yin is widely used to treat dementia, but its anti-aging effects is unknown.MethodsWe used 11-month-old APP/PS1 transgenic mice for behavioral tests to observe the changes in cognitive function and age-related symptoms after Qi-Fu-Yin treatment. Fecal samples were collected for 16sRNA sequencing and metagenomic sequencing. Differences among the groups of intestinal microbiota and the associations with aging and intestinal microbiota were analyzed based on the results.ResultsHere we found that Qi-Fu-Yin improved the ability of motor coordination, raised survival rate and prolonged the survival days under cold stress stimulation in aged APP/ PS1 transgenic mice. Our data from 16sRNA and metagenomic sequencing showed that at the Family level, the intestinal microbiota was significantly different among wild-type mice, APP/PS1 transgenic mice and the Qi-Fu-Yin group by PCA analysis. Importantly, Qi-Fu-Yin improved the functional diversity of the major KEGG pathways, carbohydrate-active enzymes, and major virulence factors in the intestinal flora of APP/PS1 transgenic mice. Among them, the functions of eight carbohydrate-active enzymes (GT2_Glycos_transf_2, GT4, GT41, GH2, CE1, CE10, CE3, and GH24) and the functions of top three virulence factors (defensive virulence factors, offensive virulence factors and nonspecific virulence factors) were significantly and positively correlated with the level of grasping ability. We further indicated that the Qi-Fu-Yin significantly reduced the plasma levels of IL-6.ConclusionOur results indicated that the effects of Qi-Fu-Yin anti-aging of APP/PS1 transgenic mice might be through the regulation of intestinal flora diversity, species richness and the function of major active enzymes.</p

Studies on the Electroencephalogram and Physiological Responses of Qi-Gong
[[abstract]]The aim of study is to understand the electroencephalogram and physiological changes of a Qi-Gong learner, concerning his EMG value, skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation. Forty subjects are divided into a Qi-Gong group and a control group. Before the experiment takes place, both groups undertake the first test. After the Qi-Gong group practices Qi-Gong for fourteen weeks, both groups undertake the second test to see the EMG value, the skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation.
After collect the information as the result of the experiment, the EMG value, the skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation are evaluated by independent sample t test for the agreement between the first test and second one. The EMG value, the skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation of the two groups in the first test are evaluated by independent sample t test for the agreement between the two groups.
We discover that, as far as the EMG value, the skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation of the Qi-Gong group and the control group are concerned, there are no remarkable difference between the first test and the second one, which shows that the two groups reaches an agreement between the first test and the second one.Besides, as far as the EMG value, the skin temperature, cathectic and relaxation are concerned, there are a remarkable difference between the Qi-Gong group and the control group, which shows that after a short-term Qi-Gong training, the Qi-Gong state has a remarkable effect on electroencephalogram and human physiological response

Air flow over a mountain and the convective boundary-layer
In this paper, the analytical model coupling the convective boundary layer (CBL) with the free atmosphere developed by Qi and Fu (1992) is improved. And by this improved model, the interaction between airflow over a mountain and the CBL is further discussed. The conclusions demonstrate: (1) The perturbation potential temperatures in the free atmosphere can counteract the effect of orographic thermal forcing through entraining and mixing in the CBL. If u(M)BAR > u(F)BAR, the feedback of the perturbation potential temperatures in the free atmosphere is more important than orographic thermal forcing, which promotes the effect of interfacial waves. If u(M)BAR < u(F)BAR, orographic thermal forcing is more important, which makes the interfacial height and the topographic height identical in phase, and the horizontal speeds are a maximum at the top of the mountain. (2) The internal gravity waves propagating vertically in the free atmosphere cause a strong downslope wind to become established above the lee slope in the CBL and result in the hydraulic jump at the top of the CBL. (3) With the CBL deepening, the interfacial gravity waves induced by the potential temperature jump at the top of the CBL cause the airflow in the CBL to be subcritical
