Driving evaluation system for truck drivers
Rezultati ankete prikazujejo pripravljenost poklicnih voznikov v uvedbo takšnih sistemov v podjetje. This paper titled System for Assessing Driving of Heavy-Goods Vehicle Drivers focuses mainly on the driving assessment system using a system by a heavy-goods vehicle producer, Scania. In this paper, we will try to prove the correlation between the assessment obtained using this system and fuel consumption and vehicle wear. The theoretical part of the paper first presents what the driving mode assessment system enables, what data can be acquired and how they can be compared. It goes on to present the effects and modes of economical driving and the elements that are important for economical driving. Other factors that are pertinent to economical driving are also presented, while this paper mainly focuses on the human factor affecting economical driving. In the empirical part of the paper, we first presented the results based on the acquired data on the obtained assessments and vehicle wear on transport routes. The results based on the acquired data on fuel consumption and the obtained assessments demonstrate a correlation between the obtained driving assessment and fuel consumption of the vehicle. We went on to present the results of an anonymous survey filled in by professional heavy-goods vehicle drivers. The results of the survey show that the professional drivers are in favour of the implementation of such systems in the company. The results also demonstrate that the drivers are willing to participate in additional training in the field of economical driving
On the regularized inversion of the Laplace transform
The paper present an algorithm for the regularized inversion of the Laplace transform. The authors assume that the values of the Laplace transform are given in a finite number of equidistant points and that these values are affected by gaussian noise

How to evaluate the daylight strategies and the artificial light load within building energy simulation programme: an accurate approach
A Language-Independent Neural Network-Based Speech Synthesizer
The applicability of soft computing to implementing text-to-speech conversion is subject to debate. Using neural networks for phoneme-level, text-to-speech conversion has several advantages over hard computing. Soft computing’s capacity to generalize makes it possible to map words missing from the database, as well as to reduce contradictions related to different pronunciations for the same word.
Neural networks have been shown to optimally solve a large class of applied pattern-matching problems, but very little research has been done to match the requirements of pattern generation in machine-to-human interaction.
An artificial speech synthesizer based on neural networks is being developed for application to deeply embedded systems for language-independent speech commands on hands-free interfaces. A feed-forward, backpropagation artificial neural network has been trained for this purpose using a custom-developed, regular expression-based, text-to-phones transcription engine to generate training patterns. Initial experimental results show the expected properties of language independence and in-system learning
Hausdorff moment problem and Maximum Entropy: On the existence conditions
Different existence conditions of the Maximum Entropy solution to finite Hausdorff moment problem have been formulated in literature. Through a counterexample we prove that the most cited one is uncorrect. We do not bound ourselves to a crude counterexample, as we think that a detailed explanation is of interest by itself. It clarifies the difference existing between the finite and infinite Hausdorff moment problem existence conditions
Language-independent, neural network-based, text-to-phones conversion
A speech synthesizer based on an artificial neural network (ANN) is being developed for application to deeply embedded systems for language-independent speech commands on hands-free interfaces. A feed-forward, backpropagation, artificial neural network has been trained for this purpose using a custom-developed, regular expression-based, text-to-phone transcription engine to generate training patterns. Initial experimental results show the expected properties of language independence and in-system learning capability of this approach. The ANN demonstrates the capacity to generalize and map the words missing at training time, as well as to reduce contradictions related to different pronunciations for the same word
