Development and implementation of E-services
Tiek aplūkoti elektronisko pakalpojumu izstrādes procesa soļi un to
sastāvdaļas. Aplūkota elektronisko pakalpojumu arhitektūra un standarti. Atsevišķa nodaļa
veltīta BizTalk servera priekšrocībām, izstrādājot elektroniskos pakalpojumus, un paskaidrots,
kā notiek integrācijas servisu izstrāde, izmantojot BizTalk orķestrācijas. Darba kontekstā
autors izstrādā elektronisko pakalpojumu „Mani dati cukura diabēta pacientu reģistrā”.

Community driven mobile application to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection
The author of the bachelor’s thesis Edgars Baumanis has chosen the topic “Community driven mobile application to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection” referring to the spread of Covid-19 virus in Latvia and the projects “Jaunās tehnoloģijas Covid-19 pacientu tēmētai monitorēšanai, testēšanai un terapijai (3-T Project)”[4]. Monitoring includes gathering the number of people in the room, notifying the participants and sending the room data to a common database. The implementation of the research is relevant at the time of writing, as Covid-19 continues to limit the whole world. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to study existing community driven applications, various human monitoring solutions, as well as to plan and implement a solution that meets the needs of the project

Long-term prospect analysis of Latvia's pension system
Pension reform in Latvia was performed in 1996 and as a result new pension system has been established. The new pension system consists of two mandatory and one voluntary pillars. Although economic literature reviews Latvia`s pension system as one of the best, it is still unable to provide current pensioners an income that exceeds poverty treshold. Taking into account the demographic changes in Latvia and Europe it is necessary to analyze the long-term sustainability of the pension system. The primary aim of master thesis is to assess pension system long-term sustainability and create fungibility forecasts based on demographic scenarios established by United Nations`s and Latvia`s pension system analyses. Author concludes that in the long-term Latvia`s pension system is stable and provides fungibility level of 49% to 79% of the average net wage depending on demographic scenarios
State of the Nation Economy Outlook by Prof. Edgars -Standpoint-Q3-finale.pdf
Taking stock of the South African economy mid-way through 2022
South Africa, like many emerging markets, finds itself in a precarious position. Over the past two years a wide range of global developments have had a largely adverse impact on South Africa’s macroeconomic environment, including the COVID-19 pandemic, widespread disruptions to global supply chains, and surging global inflation.
More recently, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 resulted in increased global risk aversion, a surge in international oil and food prices, as well as a significant moderation in global economic activity. Equally, China’s strict zero-COVID strategy has resulted in severe lockdowns measures being introduced in various parts of the country during 2022, inflicting more damage than expected to both the production and consumption side of the economy. The significant loss of momentum in Chinese economic activity during the second quarter of the year resulted in a further moderation of global growth and aggravated an important part of the global supply chain. </p
