No full textLetture di Interni raccoglie una serie di testi, articoli e paper – alcuni inediti, altri rivisti e aggiornati rispetto a precedenti pubblicazioni – elaborati dai docenti e dottori di ricerca in architettura degli interni del Dipartimento di Architettura e Studi Urbani e coinvolti a vario titolo nelle attività didattiche della Scuola di Architettura e Società del Politecnico di Milano. Questa opera nasce dal desiderio di raccogliere contributi diffusi in luoghi differenti e difficilmente reperibili ad anni di distanza dalla loro prima comparsa, e con lo scopo di restituire un’immagine generale delle attività sviluppate dal gruppo di ricerca nel quadriennio 2007-2010, nella convinzione di offrire un interessante patrimonio didattico e scientifico.
Il materiale selezionato è stato organizzato in quattro sezioni, articolate tematicamente: “Il progetto di Interni”, “Spazi dell’Abitare”, “Nuova Museografia – tra tradizione e nuovi scenari” e “Allestire – mostrare, esporre, comunicare”. Il volume offre dunque una serie di diverse letture, ciascuna delle quali propone un’interpretazione e un’apertura critica rispetto ad alcuni temi specifici della disciplina degli interni, e al contempo individua questioni emergenti, nuove domande e prospettive ampliando i confini della disciplina. La stessa eterogeneità dei testi raccolti testimonia la ricchezza di apporti e la molteplicità di sguardi che la ricerca nel campo degli interni permette.
Ogni saggio è una lettura specifica, autonoma e compiuta, supportata da un ricco apparato di note e riferimenti bibliografici, il cui significato è ampliato e arricchito dal confronto con gli altri contributi del libro. Il volume si offre quindi a una lettura lineare, secondo la logica con cui i saggi sono stati organizzati, oppure puntuale per singoli brani, o ancora trasversale, esplorando fil rouges alternativi che ogni lettore potrà individuare.

No full textL’emergere di nuove istanze nella cultura e nella città contemporanea richiede un ripensamento degli spazi dell’abitare, che tarda però ad attuarsi e ad avere effettive ricadute nel processo progettuale, soprattutto nel nostro Paese. Tuttavia, osservando alcune recenti esperienze a livello europeo, è possibile notare come il progetto dell’abitare stia tornando ad essere al centro di ricerche e sperimentazioni volte ad esplorarne nuove forme e modi. Il saggio, a partire dalla considerazione del crescente interesse, soprattutto in nord Europa, rivolto a proposte abitative in condivisione, sviluppa una riflessione intorno ad esse e a un’idea dell’abitare come relazione complessa con un ambiente, come “processo” e come “atto”
City Museums in Transition: A European Overview
No full textThe essay explores if and how city museums are reacting to the challenges and changes posed by what the MeLa project defines as “an age of migrations.” (the notion of “migration” is adopted by the Project as a paradigm of the contemporary global and multicultural world.
The chapter develops around some main research questions, investigating the role that city museums can play within a changing urban context, how they deal with the growing heterogeneity of the city’s population ensuing from contemporary mobility and migration fluxes, and how their role and this context influences their strategies and narratives, in order to eventually examine how their communication tools, spaces and exhibition design might consequently change and contribute to the effectiveness of the museum’s mission. It thus aims at outlining possible developments, cues for reflection and fields to be further investigated

No full textThe Luxembourg City History Museum “understands its mission of representing history as the visualisation of the political, cultural and social development of the city, in order to stimulate the public to dialogue with its cultural heritage.” Since its opening, the museum has extensively worked with temporary exhibitions according to this vision and as a strategy to deal with difficult and contentious topics, aimed at fostering dialogue between history and the present. Most of them have also been used to explore different curatorial approaches and experiment with new media, ICT, and new working strategies, as transnational networking and other forms of interdisciplinary cooperation.
