An application for mobile systems developed with the community involvement. An open source mobile application project of a perceptive city map
The paper describes the hypothesis of an applicative part of the author’s research Design for the sensitive experience (The research has allowed the author to organize interviews and discussion with different city users and psychologists permitting the definition of parameters and categories described in this paper. Anyway these parameters are questionable and have to be implemented thru the second part of the research, thru the comparison with results taken from investigation that are planned to be made also with technological advices.). It’s an experimental project aimed to create the bases to develop an open source mobile application where the city users can directly communicate with planners, designers and administration. The ‘app’ would consist in an interactive city map, a model that can be extended to any cities. In particular, the paper displays the experiment conducted within the PhD research, applied to four itineraries of Rome city. The experiment can be tested on other urban realities and it illustrates the parameters identified to map the city areas and the tools that can be used. The method adopted to monitor the sustainable-mobility, is the development of an application that has to be used especially during the planning phase of the visit, before to start a city tour, not only in the while of a walk
Design for the sensitive experience: inclusive design in historical-archaeological contexts
Abstract. The Research Project deepens objectives, tools and methods of a design sensitives to human perception and senses and it’s finalized to the acquisition of Community involvement, basing on an agreement with a public administration, the Municipality. The range of city_users involved are people with special needs or disabilities who, thanks to a dedicated platform and a help desk at Municipality offices, can give a contribution to the research and to the city plans of outdoor archaeological paths, heritage sites, adaptive-ergonomics urban furnishings and sustainable mobility. The outputs expected from the research are the Creation of a map of accessible itineraries and a consequent mobile systems application; in addiction the creation of connections of “mental topographies” generates a new layer of the map, an emotional map of the city users. In Europe contexts, the possible developments are the publication of Guidelines and a recognized certification mark
The experiment of Community involvement in a project planning within the historical context of Rome city
The PhD student proposes a method of community involvement in the planning and in the regeneration of historical centers, in support of the city’s accessibility and people’s well-being. The outcomes of the research are the analysis and the studies conducted over three years with people with sensory, physical and
cognitive impairments on the sustainable mobility of historical spaces of Rome, thanks to an agreement between the Phd Student Start up Research Project financed by Sapienza, Università di Roma and the Municipality of Rome. Citizens are involved in the analysis process: they communicate their opinions, impressions, perceptions and needs related to the city experience through a dedicated help-desk, in return, they receive an advice service and a design project for their apartment that suits their necessities. Thanks also to several tours and surveys conducted with people with special needs, the phd student studies the human senses, the perception of the space, the physical barriers, natural and urban elements, with the aim to elaborate an accessibility-map of the City Center Cultural Heritage and Archaeological Sites.
Citizens can contribute by sharing information about the status of the public spaces, or by giving advice on adaptive-ergonomic urban furnishings. The research aims to elaborate an application for mobile systems that identifies an interactive cartography of the city available for all the citizens, especially people with reduced mobility. The map, developed on multiple layers, also contains the layer made up of people’s emotions and their perceptions
The architecture that empathizes with man, the dialogue between the inner self and the space, the research of the lost identity of citizens; these are some of the topics discussed in Daniela Salvi and Irene De Simone's thesis. Different for subject and approach, the first analytic, the second most practical, the two texts identify same keywords and a common design line in architectural and urban planning, taking into account a complexity of relationship between subject and the surrounding space.
Both authors outline concepts of perception, void and space. Daniela Salvi deepens the sensory experiences and compositional instruments of architecture; nine years later Irene De Simone investigates the principles of urban planning, defining the plots of cities as the mirror of society, and hence the identity crises of the citizens themselves. The sense of belonging to the urban context felt by the community must be reflected in the city's architectures and in the interweaving of the infrastructures that link them
Inclusive Design e Progetto urbano.

A Study of Bozza\u27s Eighteen Etudes In The Form of Improvisation For Horn and New Preparatory Etudes on the Works of Bozza
This document serves as an analysis of Eugene Bozza\u27s Dix-Huit Études en Forme d\u27Improvisation pour Cor (1961), translated to Eighteen Etudes in the Form of Improvisation for Horn for the purposes of this document. I found and documented all motifs within the eighteen etudes, and categorized connections between them and Bozza\u27s compositional ouerve as displayed in Dr. Lois Kuyper-Rushing\u27s A Thematic Index of the Works of Bozza. My research takes inspiration from Dr. Kuyper-Rushing\u27s work as well as Dr. Hsing-Fang Liu\u27s research involving Bozza\u27s use of “Adoptive Transcription”, or taking old melodies from previous works and using them in new works. Involved with this document is a recording of all eighteen etudes, recorded and performed by the author at the Barth House, a local Episcopalian center in Memphis, Tennessee. A discussion of each of the 18 etudes, their connections, and the process I had taken in practicing and recording them makes up the middle section of the document. Finally, using the knowledge gained from the connections made and the recordings provided, this document will conclude with three new preparatory etudes for the horn composed by the author in the spirit of making the performance of Bozza\u27s body of work easier for future horn students. In their current state, most of Bozza\u27s Eighteen Etudes in the Form of Improvisation are simply too difficult to be played well by intermediate students
This paper focuses on some architectural elements from the polyadic Sanctuary of Apollo at
Hierapolis in Phrygia, as a part of the research activities carried out by MAIER – the Italian Archaeological
Mission at Hierapolis. A group of six Ionic capitals is distinguished by the unusual composition,
which combines the decorated hypotrachelion with a fluted baluster and the presence of a bead-andreel
motif along the edge of the volutes. A series of comparisons shows that these original solutions
depend on retrospective trends, as the reference to the most famous monuments of Classical Greece
(the Erechtheion) and to the traditional forms of Microasiatic architecture (Artemisia of Ephesos and
Sardis). Furthermore, the specific features of the hypotrachelion reveal a creative interaction between
the architectural models of Rome and the local traditions of province of Asia. These Ionic capitals appear
as the result of a complex artistic experimentation, realized at Hierapolis during the Hadrianic
period; the chronology is also confirmed by the analysis of the decorative patterns
