No full textThe article is dealing with the important aspect of the peripheral regions versus the centre of the Achaemenid Empire. The occasion to debate this topic is the 6th ICAANE congress held in Rome 2008. The difficult interpretation of the very nature of the Achaemenid state conditions very much the interpretation of a very far eastern periphery of such regional area as Sistan. The site of Dahan-e Ghulaman with its urban, religious unique character, gives evidence of the socio-complexity of a far satrapy as Drangiana; it, nonetheless, does not give any confirmation in such far settlement, of the epigraphic and very high artistic level present in the originarian capitals as Persepolis and Pasargade, of imperial level
Sulle nuove (e vecchie) cronologie degli stati neo-ittiti alla luce dei nuovi testi e dell’annalistica neo-assira
No full textNel presente contributo saranno discusse criticamente alcune nuove acquisizioni epigrafiche di area ed epoca neo-ittite. Tali acquisizioni sono di grande rilevanza per la ricostruzione della storia del mondo siro-anatolico nei primi secoli dell’età del Ferro. Saranno presi in esame, nella prima parte, i testi legati al regno di P/Walastin, e provenienti da Aleppo, Arsuz, Meharde, Sheizar e Tell Tayinat. A seguire, saranno invece discussi alcuni documenti provenienti da Karkemiš, rinvenuti nel corso delle campagne di scavo che hanno avuto luogo tra il 2011 e il 2016. Alla luce di tali fonti, si tenterà di verificare la solidità delle recenti proposte di ricostruzione delle dinastie al potere a Karkemiš e Tayinat (Kunalua) nella Prima età del Ferro, e di offrire, dove possibile, alcune risposte a problemi ancora aperti
