Ilse Bing. La vibración de la vida
No full text[ES] La trayectoria artística de Ilse Bing (Fráncfort, 1899-Nueva York,
1998) se enmarca en unas coordenadas temporales y en un contexto sociocultural particularmente denso. Los escenarios en los que
vivió la fotógrafa alemana son fundamentalmente tres, a saber, el
Fráncfort anterior a los años treinta, el París de esa década y el
Nueva York de la posguerra, en donde experimentó sobre todo su
condición de exiliada. Hubo otros lugares visitados por Bing, como
Suiza, Italia y Holanda, pero no llegaron a constituir espacios determinantes que pudieran repercutir significativamente en su modo
de trabajar en el ámbito fotográfico.
Analizado con la distancia y el sosiego que permite el paso del
tiempo, el corpus artístico de Ilse Bing no resulta fácilmente encuadrable en las distintas corrientes fotográficas que pudo conocer en
vida, en especial en su etapa inicial alemana y en el decenio parisino. Si bien su obra está impregnada de elementos vinculados tanto
a Das Neue Sehen (la Nueva Visión) y a la Bauhaus, que emergieron durante la República de Weimar, como al surrealismo del que
bebió en sus años franceses, la posición en la que se sitúa Bing
escapa a cualquier norma estricta u ortodoxia visual. En ese sentido, se puede afirmar que estamos ante una mirada y una concepción de la fotografía harto singulares en las que modernidad e innovación formal van de la mano de un talante humanista en el que
anida una conciencia social.
Además, resulta de importancia subrayar que el recorrido artístico
de Ilse Bing en tiempos asaz difíciles está puntuado por una inquebrantable determinación para abrirse paso en un mundo que veía
con desdén, o incluso animadversión, la presencia de las mujeres
como agentes activos en el espacio social y, por ende, también en
el cultural. Bing formó parte de una generación de fotógrafas que
logró una visibilidad hasta entonces insólita. La cámara se convirtió
en una herramienta esencial de autodeterminación para numerosas
artistas, entre las que se contaban nombres como los de Germaine
Krull, Florence Henri, Laure Albin-Guillot, Madame d'Ora, Bereni-
