A microsimulation-based analysis for driving behaviour modelling on a congested expressway
Recently, simulation models have been widely used around the world to evaluate the performance of different traffic facilities and management strategies for efficient and sustainable transportation systems. One of the keys factors for ensuring the reliability of the models in reflecting local conditions is the calibration and validation of microsimulation models. The majority of the existing calibration efforts focus is on the experimental designs of driver behaviour and lane-changing parameters. Towards this end, this paper describes the necessary procedure for the calibration and validation of a microscopic model using the VISSIM software, during peak hours. The procedure is applied on Muscat Expressway in the Sultanate of Oman. The calibration parameters and the measure-of-effectiveness are identified by using multi-parameter sensitivity analysis. The optimum values for these parameters are obtained by minimising errors between simulated data and field data. In our proposed model, we used traffic volume and travel speed for model calibration, as well as average travel time for validation of the calibrated model. The achieved results showed that driving characteristics significantly impacted the merging/diverging traffic flow ratio in the merging area, the link length and the distance between on-ramps and off-ramps, as well as the percentage of heavy vehicles. The results also showed that having both the advanced merging and cooperative lane-change settings active, along with safety distance reduction factor, necessary lane change, minimum headway (front/rear), and emergency stop, had a significant influence on simulation precision, especially at on-ramps and off-ramps. Finally, our proposed model can be utilized as a base for future traffic strategy analysis and intelligent transportation systems evaluation to help decision makers with long-term and sustainable development decisionsFarrag, SG (corresponding author), Hasselt Univ, Transportat Res Inst, Hasselt, Belgium.

Capacity Building in the Arab Nonprofit Sector: A Scoping Review and Preliminary Bibliometric Insights
Arab countries are pursuing ambitious development agendas, modernizing while preserving cultural identities. Nonprofit organizations (NPOs) play vital roles across social, economic, and environmental sectors, yet research on capacity building remains limited. Guided by PRISMA-ScR, this bilingual review (English and Arabic) retrieved 219 records (2012–2023), of which only 20 met the inclusion criteria. A small-scale bibliometric analysis identified key concepts involving institutional development, the NPO watchdog function, and Islamic social finance. This review contributes to global capacity-building theories by unveiling region-specific factors, such as localized volunteering and religious endowments, that both enrich and challenge conventional NPO models. While highlighting pressing gaps for empirical and conceptual work, it offers actionable insights for policymakers and nonprofit leaders seeking to strengthen Arab NPO interventions. Ultimately, it reframes capacity-building dialogues, revealing how Arab NPOs can advance broader development agendas. The data sets generated and/or analyzed during this study are available from the corresponding author on request. This research was supported by Qatar University under grant NPRP-14S-0303-210015, funded by the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council
Assessing the impact of Bacillus strains mixture probiotic on water quality, growth performance, blood profile and intestinal morphology of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus
The aim of this study was to assess the impact of a commercial probiotic, Sanolife PRO‐F, on water quality, growth performance, blood profiles and intestinal morphometry of monosex Nile tilapia. A field trial was conducted for 10 weeks in which tilapia fingerlings (20 ± 1.26 g) were randomly distributed into three replicate ponds which were subdivided into three treatment groups, receiving Sanolife PRO‐F at 0 (B0), 0.1 (B1) and 0.2 (B2) g/kg diet, respectively. The results showed a significant improvement in growth performance, feed conversion ratio and blood profiles in tilapia fed on treated diets. The whole intestinal lengths, anterior and terminal intestinal villi heights and anterior goblet cells count were greater in tilapia fed on treated diets. There were no noticeable differences in growth and intestinal morphology between tilapia fed on B1 and B2 diets. The ammonia concentration in water was lower with B1 diet while electric conductivity, salinity and total dissolved solids were higher with the B2 diet. The pH level of pond water was enhanced by both diets, B1 and B2. In conclusion, application of Sanolife PRO‐F at 0.1–0.2 g/kg diet might have beneficial effects on growth, immunity, stress responses and gut health and function as well as the water quality of farmed Nile tilapia

Mapping and interpreting a decision-making framework for the implicit managerial theory in the Arab Gulf States
This article developed an empirical design to examine the direct effects of four dimensions of the strategic decision-making process (SDMP) on the organizational innovation in the context of cultural value characteristics of executive managers in Qatar. The study used the cultural relativity theory to explain and advance hypotheses regarding the associations between SDMP dimensions, culture attributes, and innovation performance in an input-process-outcome model. To test the raised research hypotheses of the proposed framework, the methodology of structural equation models was used. Based on quantitative evidence of 140 Qatari public and private organizations, the results demonstrated the following three major issues: (1) strategic decision-making practices have a direct and more significant impact on process innovation performance than product/service innovation performance, (2) innovation performance is both process and context specific, and (3) certain contextualizing constructs verify a particular cultural orientation. Spatio‐temporal hydrological model structure and parametrization analysis
Many grid‐based spatial hydrological models suffer from the complexity of setting up a coherent spatial structure to calibrate such a complex, highly parameterized system. There are essential aspects of model‐building to be taken into account: spatial resolution, the routing equation limitations, and calibration of spatial parameters, and their influence on modeling results, all are decisions that are often made without adequate analysis. In this research, an experimental analysis of grid discretization level, an analysis of processes integration, and the routing concepts are ana-lyzed. The HBV‐96 model is set up for each cell, and later on, cells are integrated into an interlinked modeling system (Hapi). The Jiboa River Basin in El Salvador is used as a case study. The first concept tested is the model structure temporal responses, which are highly linked to the runoff dynam-ics. By changing the runoff generation model description, we explore the responses to events. Two routing models are considered: Muskingum, which routes the runoff from each cell following the river network, and Maxbas, which routes the runoff directly to the outlet. The second concept is the spatial representation, where the model is built and tested for different spatial resolutions (500 m, 1 km, 2 km, and 4 km). The results show that the spatial sensitivity of the resolution is highly linked to the routing method, and it was found that routing sensitivity influenced the model performance more than the spatial discretization, and allowing for coarser discretization makes the model sim-pler and computationally faster. Slight performance improvement is gained by using different pa-rameters’ values for each cell. It was found that the 2 km cell size corresponds to the least model error values. The proposed hydrological modeling codes have been published as open‐source.</p

The bibliography deals with all areas of library and information science specialization, and what goes on within the scope of this specialization, as an author and translator, in the Arabic, English, and German languages, and in all types of intellectual production, over a period of thirty-seven years, from 1966 AD until mid-2012 AD. The paper was organized according to the types of intellectual production, then chronologically under each type - in order to identify the chronological development of the man’s ideas, then alphabetically with the titles of the intellectual production materials. We have also provided the necessary paperwork for these materials in their original form, in addition to hyperlinks to what is available from these sources online.
In preparing the bibliography, we relied on many sources, the most important of which is the man’s CV, which includes his intellectual production, which His Excellency kindly sent to us via e-mail, and the paper evidence provided by Professor Dr. Muhammad Fathi Abdel Hadi (which restricts the intellectual production in the field from the beginning of its publication Until 2009), the catalog of the King Fahd National Library available on the Internet, and the “EduSearch” data observatory that Dar Al-Mandhumah has, in addition to direct access to intellectual production. Despite this, we would like to point out that there is some published intellectual production by the man who has not We are able to reach it, and there is much of the man’s intellectual production that has not been documented, such as many consultations, scientific reports, lectures, audio-visual recordings, arbitration reports, etc. Perhaps this production, or paper references to it, are excluding reports Arbitration, which is secret by nature, will come to light one day.
After that, we present this bibliography to the hands of researchers, specialists, and all those interested in the field of libraries and information in the Arab world, which expresses the intellectual image of an important section of intellectual production in information science in the Arab world. If not - by its influence - the most important. This paper is also a reflection of the intellectual giving of one of the men of this generous nation, and it represents the intellectual life of this man who devoted most of his life - may God extend his life - to knowledge and information. Indeed, he is undoubtedly considered - according to his intellectual and scientific effort known to everyone - to be the pioneer of information science in the Arab world.
