No full textTo the Editor: In the review article on myocarditis by Basso (Oct. 20 issue),(1) the author recommends invasive coronary angiography for diagnostic workup in patients with suspected myocarditis in order to rule out underlying coronary artery disease (CAD).(1) Strong evidence suggests that noninvasive coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) has similar diagnostic accuracy and is associated with a lower incidence of adverse events than invasive coronary angiography in patients with chronic coronary syndrome.(2) In fact, recent guidelines on the management of chest pain(3) and prevention of sudden cardiac death(4) recommend CCTA as a class I indication, which should be preferred over . .

Hybrid systems adoption for lowering historic buildings PFEC (primary fossil energy consumption) - A comparative energy analysis
No full textIn the last decade, the European Union promoted several directives dealing with strategies and methodologies pertaining to buildings energy demand reduction. To accomplish fixed targets, a different design philosophy has to be adopted for new buildings construction. Additionally, RES (Renewable Energy Sources) have to be integrated as much as possible and non-invasive refurbishment interventions, matching architectural constraints for existing buildings have to be considered. This work explores the possibility to apply small scale hybrid energy systems generating electricity and high temperature heat which are compatible with typical limitations of historic buildings. To do so, six different plant layouts have been implemented, combining CHP (combined heat and power), PV (photovoltaics) arrays, PV/T (solar hybrid collectors), electric heat pumps, trans-critical CO2 heat pumps and gas heat pumps. Moreover, the potential effects of hydrogen enrichment in Natural gas, on the selected plant layouts have been investigated. Thus, all of energy scenarios have been compared each other based on four different indicators such as PFEC, building EPg (Energy performance index), RES fraction and renewable heat. Finally, a sensitivity analysis with varying the building PTHR (Power To Heat Ratio) has been carried out in order to identify under what conditions each layout is the most efficient

No full textIl progetto è diretto all???utilizzazione della reazione di [4+2]cicloaddizione tra sistemi eterociclici opportunamente sostituiti ed ossigeno nello stato elettronico di singoletto, al fine di individuare una via sintetica alternativa per nuovi C-nucleosidi di interesse farmacologico o utilizzabili come building blocks per successive elaborazioni strutturali. La reazione consentirebbe l???accesso a nuove classi di C-nucleosidi a carattere perossidico o recanti funzioni come 5H-furanoni, ossazinoni, diidrofurani, etc., altrimenti di difficile preparazione tramite l???uso delle metodologie classiche. Nell??'ambito del progetto è prevista anche la sintesi, via fotoossigenazione sensibilizzata da coloranti di 2-metossifurani, di glicosil derivati nuovi, variamente sostituiti e suscettibili di ulteriori modificazioni strutturali. In questo contesto è prevista un???indagine diretta a verificare la possibilità di utilizzare sistemi idroperossidici o perossidici come gruppi protettori selettivi e di facile rimozione, campo questo di particolare interesse nella chimica dei carboidrati in quanto presupposto fondamentale per la sintesi di sistemi complessi.
La metodologia proposta in questo progetto rappresenta un processo semplice, di basso costo e basso impatto ambientale, in quanto prevede l???utilizzazione di luce solare, di ossigeno e di un sensibilizzatore. Le sintesi effettuate tramite fotoossigenazione sensibilizzata da coloranti possono essere quasi sempre ricondotte a processi one-pot, cosa che riduce ad un unico passaggio i costosi ed impegnativi processi di separazione e purificazione dei prodotti di reazione

Si tratta spesso di scritture disseminate di contenuti ‘non detti’ per l’incapacità di esprimersi, per timori di censura, per non preoccupare i parenti o per pudore. Nel suo diario di guerra, compilato nel 1915 prima di morire in combattimento, il giovane tenente Flavio Gioia descrive invece le sue avventure sessuali al fronte, le azioni belliche, non risparmia critiche ai superiori e parla dei suoi soldati con uno stile narrativo, ‘pittorico’, in grado di far vedere al lettore ciò che sta leggendo. No full textThis essay first takes into account a methodological issue, which concerns the relationship between two very different writings such as The German Ideology and The 18 Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte. Starting from the highlighting of their continuity in the construction of the materialist approach to history by Marx and Engels, the essay develops the Marxian critique of bourgeois political concepts (constitution, people, democracy, etc.), which allows the author to show the dichotomous character of capitalist society, as well as the fiction of any attempt to unify it.
